Hey yall, I use the my samsung a900 as a modem right now, I know that many other sprint users use it as well, all I wanted to know is if anyone that has used it in the past have gotten charged. Like who has actually gotten charged for doing this even with the Nai off? I don't recieve my bill until later in in the month and I called to get my current usage. The rep said that there was no additional charges. He only gave me my minutes used and my text messages. Anything posted would greatly be appreciated. :headbang2

Some have, but I think they did because they didn't disable NAI. With NAI off, any modem usage should just appear as normal EVDO usage.

I just started using my A920 as a modem as well. I disabled the NAI and I'm using drivers that i downloaded from Samsung as well. I'm a little worried about getting charged but i have faith in the SprintUsers.

A friend of mine has an a920, an a900 and a 610. he does not have any pam plan. he does pay for power vision on his phones. he's disabled the NIA on all three phones and uses at least one of them everyday, usually to do low volume web surfing (checking email, reading posts on SU, etc.). he's done this for over a year and has never been charged. based on this i think your in the clear. if i were you i'd read up on some of the other many threads on the subject. with knowledge comes power.

I have used it on my A900 with NAI off. I haven't been charged, but then again I've been smart about it. I do not use it heavily and never more than 30-40 minutes at at time. I try to keep any downloading to an absolute minimum.
If they were ultra concerned, they could tell because why would someone be downloading hundreds of MB of data on a cell phone. The streaming stuff is all (fairly) low bandwidth.
So the "flag" is still there, it just doesn't get raised or waived with NAI off.

Coolers, yeah, I use my PAM for about 20 minutes, the thing is I go on myspace while using it and I'm afraid that its sending and recieving too much data. Lets say I do get charged, would they believe me if I were to tell them I use Power Vison for myspace? I mean I actually do use it for myspace and tagged, ya know. And what exacly does NAI mean or do? I do have mine off so its ok, just never really knew what it meant. Well anything posted will be greatly appreciated!
