I have been managing two accounts. one with 3 lines and another with 6 lines. I call cs or e-mail e-care whenever i have a problem and for some reason they love to give me percentage discount. i asked for free vision and they gave me 10% off my bill instead. I already had $8 vision and 20% off the bill. Now i have 30% WOW. my bill was $150 on the six lines.
Then i called on the other account and got 15% off twice on two seperate calls. they take off 15% off that bill monthly too.
Its easier than ever to get % off. I have been getting it without asking for it!!! but much harder on everything else compared to 6 months ago.

Thanks ikunspel, your recent experiences are interesting, last year I had just the opposite experience. The perks were less difficult to get then the discount. :)

that's going to be more and more rare with e-care as they are cracking down on our ability to give ANY type of discount... ~sigh~ I freaking hate that!!

Maybe Sprint likes you because you are such a valuable member- lots of phones lines with them.
Anyway good to hear that Sprint still gives out freebies every once in a while...

as I've said here and in other posts.. Sprint is really begining to crack down... and people woth multiple discounts... they're watching out for them and auditing the accounts (or so we've been told) and anything that is not supposed to be there is being pulled... I think it's because they're loosing tons of money

and again... this is going to be the answer that most people are going to start getting on a regular basis.... and I can honestly say... this website hurts Sprint and they monitor it and take EXACT phrasing from it to use to train the reps on what people say to try and get free stuff and how to shoot them down... and alot of it is verbatims

Do they also take the stories like mine when Sprint took over 6 months to get my rebated corrected and how Sprint screws a customer for being loyal?
Is it that type of training they get from here?

They lie to me all the time. I suspect everyone gets lied to by Sprint reps at one time or another.
I've been fighting the rebate scams with numerous companies for years. The fact is IMO the entire rebate program with FEW exceptions is a scam for EVERY company that uses them. They bait and switch a consumer into buying a product with the contract that a rebate will be issued. ;)

I recently renewed my contract again with Sprint last month after reading through this site.
I asked the retention specialist if I can get free roaming (not included in my plan, but I do roam like 5-10 minutes per month when I'm in the mountains). I also asked him if he can add in another 10% discount. I already had free vision but was interested in a power vision phone and asked to have power vision remain free. That's basically what I was asking and he said "Shouldn't be a problem".
So I ordered a new power vision phone (a900). He said wait for it to come in the mail and call back. So I called back to activate it and all. And BAM "we cannot add the 10% or the roaming. I don't see that in your notes anywhere"... : w t f :
The dude renewed my contract the same day on the phone, but he didn't make the changes he said he would!!
So when I hear of stories like "I got discount this and that", I'm just like :/

Either the csr's don't notate offers even if the customer specifically asks them to or the system sw "corrects" the offer back to the preset defaults that benefit Sprint not the customer. These are my opinons based on experience and info I have been told by csr's I have spoken to.
Obviously it is very good practice to email ecare immediately after getting off the phone so that one has the deal in writing. :)

I agree. The one exception is Costco (Costco type rebates).
With Costco, you can fill out the Rebate on-line and I have always gotten my rebates withing 1-2 weeks max. Never fails.

For future reference NEVER confirm or order or accept any type of equipment BEFORE you've gotten the plan change to the way that you want it and you are able to verify that these changes have been made (good way to do this is email e-care, we can verify if things have been added or not). By ordering the phone and getting the discounted price you were screwed because you already got the AA and then Sprint really doesn't ahve to offer you anything. If you are speaking with retnetions they should be able to shoot you off an email to confirm all the details of the plan that you have agreed on. As soon as you say yes on the phone it is a verbal agreement and they slap that 2 yr AA on as fast as they can!
Oh an BTW we can't give you free roaming... that's not a code that we have... you'd have to change your plan to one that had roaming (if avail in your area)
I'm sorry that you've had such a ****ty experience with Sprint and getting messed over.. I know what that's like... hey I work for them!!!!!! I bend over and take it every day!!!!

Roaming isn't a big thing for me, since I only get charged a few minutes per month. I try not to make calls when it's in roaming mode (said I know :( ).
I just really wanted that additional 10% discount the dude told me that "wasn't a problem".
Oh wells :/
Guess I'll try again in two years :( x2

if you were told you could get it I would fight for that part.. especailly where you just renewed... go on the good faith angle.. you bought this phone in good faith that this discount would be added and now it's not... be extra nice and be like... I know the notes aren't there but is there anyway you could help me out? I was told that I would get this discount and this would really help me out. I don't know if e-care can help you now as we're not supposed to give discounts... you can try there but I'd hunt retnetions...
ever since I contacted the ceo of sprint via email, (he had his people give me a free brand new Treo 700p) whenever I call to complain they offer me free stuff without me asking. Last week I got a $25 credit and a $5 credit in the same week. That's on top of my 15 percent and 27 percent lifetime discount. Rep said I have just about all the freebie codes on my account..lol

It's too bad that Sprint handcuffs you guys when it comes to things like this. Oh well, it is a business after all.

Most people who want freebies I don't mind... I have to say though that the sero customers who have a silver platter plan PISS me off... especially the ones with 10,000 discounts and crap and then they try and get more.. yeah that riles me
But it's mostly Sprint policy and crap that they throw on their reps...
