What is the best plan in terms of anytime minutes you have received through Sprint Retention?
For the past 2 years, my plan has been $50 bucks for 1,000 anytime national minutes. My contract is now up and I called retentions to see if they had a better plan, like more minutes for same price :)
Retentions had nothing special to offer me. :indiff: They had 1400 minutes for $89 bucks, not worth it.
So, I am trying to see if anyone here is getting some sweet deals from retentions for the $50-60 bucks range and how many minutes your plan includes?

Two of my best plans have been lines #1 and lines #2. See signature. I haven't seen Sprint offer these plans for a really long time. I think they are even better than SERO, but then again, I've seen some really good SERO plans that are really cheap! As for myself, I really don't want to pay more than $35/mo and $20/mo for an emergency plan, so $35/mo for 750 any time minutes isn't too bad and $20/mo for 420 any time minutes isn't too shabby either!
The prices quoted are final bill prices, so it includes all the taxes, all the fees and everything that Sprint doesn't tell you about the monthly service charges. Maybe one of these days, Sprint will offer a retention deal that says that Sprint will pay the subscriber's taxes and fees for a 2-year agreement, but some how, I doubt that will happen any time soon!

How much of a loyalty discount do you have? $50 for 1000 is hands down the best in that range.
Look to add more of a loyalty discount, look to make your AAP free, get lower or free texting/vision/roaming etc.
Try again!

Yes, it's not that bad, but I have seen better :)
Also, I do get discounts and some free items like free text for my daughter line, but right now, I am just looking for more minutes.
This guy is getting 1,000 minutes for $40 bucks:

Check out my sig. The way I did this is years of unbroken loyalty to Sprint! The first two years I paid retail. The first contract renewal I received a ADDITIONAL 540 stacked, anytime minutes thru retentions. Last year I "signed" the first contract in several years and received Sero 500 with 7PM free (credited) and the above retention minutes. I didn't pay a bill for nearly two years because of credits. Recently (without any prompting from me) Sprint added another 140 anytime minutes because they were messing with my plan. ;)

Jeff,
Your signature says 1500 Anytime minutes with free roaming for 49.99.
May I ask you when you got this plan and if it was through retention? That way, when I call retention I can ask if this plan is also available to me.

For people reading this thread, don't be discouraged if Sprint doesn't have a "listing" for what you want. Other than Sero, I haven't paid attention to what they have, I ask for WHAT I want. The worst they can do is say no.
Another point get your best deals from other carriers too, so you can mention that to retentions, to increase your bargaining power! ;)

Basically, here is what I have for less than $35/mo on line 1 with all taxes, fees and everything else that Sprint tacks on the bill outside of the regular calling plan: 750 any time minutes with roaming included. My nights start at 6pm with mobile to mobile minutes included. First Incoming Minute Free is part of my plan with vision picture mail and unlimited SMS. There is also voice command tacked in too. On top of that, Sprint provisioned me with a 1-888 number, so the first 30-seconds on calls coming in on the 1-888 number is free with 20-cents a minute after that.
Oh, I am keeping my Toshiba VM4050 as long as I can. I use it more than my Pocket PC 6700 since the battery life on that thing is less than the evening news! I can play with it when I am on the toilet and when I am finish doing my business, my battery is dead on the Pocket PC!

This is all so frustrating with Sprint. I am a long time customer, never a late payment, and I cannot get any of the plans I see people here bragging about.
I have called retentions several times since I will be out of contract soon and when I mention some of the plans people talk about here, they laugh.
So either people are making it up, or there is something else going on.

I'm not making it up. I've been a customer even longer than you. The first two years I was with Sprint.........I had a stock low MRC plan. I got a bunch of retention minutes for resigning after two years. I went for several years without a contract. Last year I signed up for Sero and got 7PM with a $5. credit. Unknown to me initially Sprint left my retention minutes on my plan, hence the current status of my account. :)

Maybe someone who works for Sprint and reads here can shed some light on this - Why some people get excellent plans while others don't (assuming you pay on time and been with Sprint a long time).

joe, there are many factors that go into the plans that people have on here. some are the result of errors, others are the result of kind sprint reps, yet others are sheer luck. But please don't go into a sprint phone call or e-mail thinking "i have to get exactly or better than what that person on SU has." That's just setting yourself up for failure.
Another thing, please don't try to get something so you can come here and brag about it. That just makes it harder for the rest of us who actually need what we're asking for. I orginally had 500 texts free, but needed unlimited because my friends are text addicts. So I asked for it. I didn't get free unlimited texts but unlimited for $8 a month. If you really need something, consider paying for it.
Another thing is that you're trying to get all of this stuff at a bad time. Sweetcutie, a sprint rep just noted in another thread that sprint is cracking down on freebies. So trying to replicate the work of is even harder.

PandaGuy,
Obviously there are errors and I am sure many factors come into play why some folks get excellent deals while others do not.
From reading many entries here and over many years, this is normal with Sprint and not the exception.
Back 2 years ago I got a package deal with Sprint through Retentions. My brother in law who also had Sprint (at the time) and had been with Sprint for as long, tried to get the same or similar package I got - he was denied outright, over and over. And yes, he pays on time.
My brother in law got so pissed off he droped his service with Sprint and went with another carrier. Yes, I lucked out 2 years ago with Sprint, but my brother in law did not and actually made him a Sprint "hater" if you will.
So other than "errors" and for those of us who been with Sprint a long time and pay on time, there should be more straight forward non-mickey-mouse offers available.
I can see many people here becoming like my brother-in-law over time simply because Sprint deals different cards to different people. :irked:

Did you get the 30% loyalty discount through retentions? Did you ask for it or they did just give it to you, or was it due to an "error"?
SailRace

It's been a combination - originally it was just a 15% discount, then because of errors, ecare has actually stepped up and given me an additional 5%, and then recently, and additional 10% because of some problems i've had.
I actually didn't even ask for it...they said since i've been with them for so long, to make up for some of the errors, they would add the extra discount for me.
Believe it or not, i don't normally call and ask for extras...the only thing i ever asked for was the corporate discount, which is legit, and free roaming and text messaging. They granted those to me without any sort of fight.

I should emphasize how much luck has to do with it. I think Sprint's employee training could be improved a lot. In my calls to Sprint, I've learned that employee knowledge of plans, incentives and the system overall vary greatly. Some are very knowledgeable. Those employess are a double edge sword. If you have a legitimate plan problems, they can solve them. But if you're asking for freebies, although they know where all the codes are, they're hesistant to give them to you because they also know what procedures are needed to give them away (like a contract extension). I believe the ones that give things away are either really nice e-care representatives (shout out to Ashley if you're on SU =D) or a semi-new employee who is willing to search for the codes.

I told him I was going to call back when it was time to renew and ask for him by name with my old case number to get the exact same plan w/all the free perks. He said it would not make good business sense for Sprint not to give me everything back if they have done it before. I totally agree.

When I first discovered Sprint Users about a year ago, I was impressed with how many people had similair experiences as I had. From the start Sprint tried to con me, first with trying to cheat me out of a phone rebate, etc., etc. There's been a bunch of screwups over the years (their fault), some have benefited me (I got nearly two YEARS of FREE service and a NICE free phone) and others haven't. With Sprint you roll with the punches.
Your credit rating and length of time with Sprint are very significant IMO. MRC doesn't mean much IMO. As previously mentioned SOMETIMES when they screw up, they will give you a perk without ANY prompting. YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST treat the reps with great respect and courtesy regardless of how they treat you. If a rep is giving you the business, thank them, hang up and call back some other time.
I've give you a example of what happens when they screw up. My account was messed up a while back and NOT prompted by me, the csr added more than TWO HOURS of anytime minutes to my account (reoccuring). YOU must be nice, nice, nice to the reps. They don't have to help you, especially when you are trying to get better than a published plan!
Its very important to be PATIENT with Sprint. I went for years without even contacting them for anything, I had a great retention plan. You know don't rock the boat when you have a good deal. I suppose luck has something to do with it too, luck to get a good rep. Right off the bat you can tell when you have a good one. I like talking to business reps, they are a cut above the average rep, call them! :)
I hope this helps you, Sprint is a strange company, but they're MUCH better then their competitior's IMO. Can you imagine me going to the competition and trying to get what I have with Sprint?

I've tried emailing ecare and got the "standard" answer...we do not give loyalty discounts!!! what a hoot!!!.....
I had one rep tell me that I needed to provide a number of one of these accounts with a so called "loyalty discount"....he said there is no such thing
Another ecare rep said that they have them, but they are only offered to the really great customers..(gee thanks :irked: )

I'm not trying to tell people that getting a great deal from Sprint is easy. It was not easy for me for the most part. It takes lots of time and tenacity to get a bargain from Sprint. However, at least for me, working at it periodically has really helped. We hear Sprint is cracking down on goodies, but I still read that some people are getting extra's. How much are you paying for the 2000 minutes before discounts and when did you get that plan?
I asked retention and their 2000 minutes is 109, no Free PowerVision and no Free SMS (even though I have free SMS now on 1 line).
Here is the story:
I was on the standard 700 minutes $75.00 Free&Clear plan that included 1 free AAP. It included $5.00 charge and $5.00 credit for m2m (standard if you had more then 1 line). Liens 2 and 3 were $20.00 each. My total bill was $115.00 with extra $5.00 for 7 PM N/W.
I had no SMS or Vision or roaming.
I worked for Citibank and thus received 13 % discount.
In May of 2004 I read on this forum that Sprint will be changing its high end plans ($100 and up) as of May 16th 2004. These plans used to include free Vision and unlimited SMS on primary line. As of May 16th 2004 the primary line would no longer get these features for free.
So on May 15th I called Cust Service and inquired what perks can I get I upgrade my plan to the $100/1800 minute plan. The customer service lady was happy to upgrade me and promised to make lines 3 and 4 free. I agreed on the spot. So my new bill comes in and shows me on the $100/1800 minute plan with Vision/SMS included for free on the main line (part of the base plan and not an add-on). Lines 3 and 4 however were $20.00 each. Called executive services and got these lines for free.
So now I was paying $105 for 4 lines including $5.00 for 7 PM N/W, no roaming.
Fast forward to November 2005. I was getting very poor reception in my house with massive number of dropped calls. Called Sprint and explained the problem. Tech support acknowledged that my house is in the known poor coverage area and was offered free roaming. I agreed and Sprint added $5.00 roaming with $5.00 credit. No change in the total bill ($100 + 5.00 for 7 PM NW +$5 roaming-$5 roaming credit).
Go on to January 2006. I read on this forum that people were getting free 6 PM N/W for renewing the contract. E-mailed e-care and they immediately offered to add $10.00 6 PM N/W with the $10.00 credit for renewing. I agreed.
Next bill. I see $10.00 charge, but no credit. Another call to CS - they informed me that since I was aready getting one credit ($5.00 for roaming), they could not attach another recurring credit to my account. They put me on hold and in 15 minutes they came back and informed me that they switched me to the $100/2000 minutes F&C America plan that included roaming, so no $5.00 charge/credit was required anymore. And extra 200 minutes (up from 1800)
In the meanwhile I still had unlimited Vision/SMS. I bought A900 and called in to activate (ESN Swap). They swapped ESN without any issues. So I started getting PV instead of regular vision without changes in the plan.
Fast forward to April 2006. People on this forum reported getting a Sprint flyer in the mail with the 10% off offer for renewing their contracts. I did not get the flyer, but called the number indicated in the forums. They obviously did not find my number in their "eligible" list, but offered $5.00 monthly credit for renewing. I agreed. Next bill comes in - no credit. Called CS. The same story - I am already getting $10.00 credit for 6 PM N/W, could not add another $ credit. They offered 5% off instead. I agreed.
In the meanwhile, Citibank discount increased from 13% to 27%. So, this is what I have now:
$100 / 2000 minutes plan with legacy Vision (becomes PV on any PV phone activated on the 1st line) and SMS plan included on the 1st line.
Lines 2,3,4 are free.
M2M and Roaming included int base plan.
6PM N/W are free ($10.00 charge - $10.00 credit)
5% Flyer discount + 27% Citibank discount.
$100 + 10.00 - 10.00 - 5% - 27 % = $69.35
I am never leaving Sprint.

When I renewed my contract 2 years ago, there was a lot of talk about 7pm nights Free on this forum. And then some people found out from CS that it is has an expiration date.
Many of us rushed to contact CS or ecare to check if indeed there is an expiration date.
I was told mine does not have an expiration date. But guess what? I just found out today that indeed the 7pm nights Free has an expiration date. Not only that, even my 10% loyalty discount has the same expiration date.
Did any of you discover the same expiration date on the 7pm nights Free or the loyalty discount? The 5% loyalty discount however has no expiration.
Btw, I only saw the expiration date when I looked at my online bill.
My contract ends in about a month. And all this 22 or so months I have never seen that expiration date.

Been there done that. Sprint is now and has always (as long as I've been doing business with them) run a bait and switch scam, operation! :bang: They will tell you one deal over the phone and what you get is 180 degrees opposite.
We set up a friend of mine with Sero last year and Sprint swears his plan didn't have a expiration date. Currently thats still their story, time will tell.
Also I signed up for Sero last year and got 7PM with a $5. credit. They set mine to expire in a year. I called them back and asked for them to change it to a non-expiring type and the csr couldn't find the code for that. Hmmmmm :p
Anyway the csr did find the code for two years and switched mine to it. I checked my account later and found they left it at one year. Typical Sprint, bait and switch! :irked:

EXACTLY.
About 2 years ago, I signed up with Sprint with a particular contract and it was HELL trying to get what they told me in person. If you want to read an interesting story, check out the link on my signature.

Joe:
I read about your Sprint horror story in your sig. link (recommended reading by ALL Sprint customers or potential ones too). That's extreme, but not surprising at all.
I've got some "good" ones in the latest Sprint horror stories thread. That's not all of mine either! It's common to have to call them over and over and over to get what was promised by THEM.
They're quite consistent too, they pull the same sh*t year, after year.......... :bang:

What is beginning to bother me lately, is that now when I call Sprint asking about X or Y or Z, they imediately tell me that I called about that x days ago.
HOWEVER, Sprint recently made an error (long story) and the SON-OF-******S could not recall any of it. Thank goodness I saved my emails and brought it to their faces and THEN they remember.
I hate DOUBLE standards. This is why Sprint is losing money and customers.

From day ONE they tried to pull stuff on me. It started with trying to cheat me out of a large phone rebate. I've dealt with alot of companies in my life and no kidding I've never seen another company like Sprint. They are really one of a kind.
I can only imagine they have some old bast***s still around that set up the original business plan and the other BS that's still being followed today! :bang:

Don't get me going about Sprint phone rebates - my last one took over 6 months and several calls and emails to Sprint. Always with we are sorry, we have correct the problem BS, your rebate is on it's way.
Talking about bastars working at Sprint - In the past (not so much now), whenever I called Sprint to check up on something, they would AUTOMATICALLY add this or that without me ever requesting it.
It was only after I got my bill and noticed that it was higher than normal that I would catch it. One time, in the process talking with Sprint to correct a service that I had not asked for, they corrected it and then added two more services that I never requested. :indiff: Caught it on next billing cycle as always.
It was all finaly corrected after about a year of this back and forth.

I would have left if they gave me that much trouble. I've had them pull some good ones on me, removing credits, etc, etc. I got them good several times and received nearly two years of service for free! LMAO

Cool! Trust me, I am much more agreesive now then last time I agree to a new 2 year contract. I am not letting Sprint get away with squat.
Every mistake they make, they need to give me something free in return. So I am now looking forward for them to fruck up.

If I did not look at my ebill, I would not have seen the expiration date. There is no expiration date for the 7pm or the 10% loyalty discount on my regular paper bill.
How is one to know if indeed the csr entered the 2 year expiration code . After all we all called or sent email and the reply was , "No there is no expiration date on your 7pm free or the 10% loyalty discount". I am currently trying to locate any emails that I have received from ecare. Unfortunately I think this deal was done over the phone.
To be honest, this is the first time I have come across such handling by Sprint. I have been with them since 1999. Previously they gave me the 8pm Free(without me asking) and there was no expiration. I let my contract expires and my plan and discounts just carried on for another couple of years.
Now if I do not renew my contract (the "goodies" expires same time as my contract),
I do not get the 7PM for free nor the 10% Loyalty discount. It is not good business sense because now they offered me free phones etc to renew my contract. It would be costing them more money than to just let me be happily continue without a contract.

This is my opinion as a Sprint customer and as a long time observer of Sprint's antics.
I believe the CEO and others that make the decisions at Sprint believe the expiring perks HELPS keep people under contract and not going along for years (like I did) without a contract. The churn rate is such a problem for companies like Sprint they are looking for anything to stop the bleeding of customers to the other carriers.
Customers without contracts are free to leave at a moments notice and then Sprint looses another one to their enemies.
I suspect (most of the time) Sprint will renew time sensitive perks for customers renewing their contracts. At that point the mission is accomplished, the customer is tied into another two year contract with a high penalty if he or she decides to bail. ;)

When you see the first page after logging into your account.......click the change plans link and you'll see the date. Many people in here have noticed that date is NOT accurate!!! It's more of Sprint's "funny math". ;)

The only expiration date that appears when I click on the "change plans" link is the advantage agreement date (which is in my case, of course, incorrect). I have two loyalty discounts which are not displayed on that page. The 7 PM N&W charge is listed but the credit I receive each month is not.
As I have mentioned in other threads on SU I do not mind that the credits and discounts are only good for the length of the contract. That's only fair. I do, however, have a major issue with credits and discounts expiring suddenly in mid-contract, which has happened to me on multiple occasions. Regardless of Sprint's assertion that only the base price of the plan remains fixed during the contract their low class approach to the important finer points of the contract (i.e. addon prices, discounts and credits) reflects poorly on their customer service and crediblity.

That's strange about the credit for 7Pm not being listed in your account info, it is in mine.
Sprint's new motto should be "We bait and switch with the best of them".
Unfortunately what is happening to you is extremely common with Sprint and has occured to me too, for way too many years! :bang:

I agree with what all of you said and also it seems fair if the discount expires when the contract expires. But Sprint has to tell us upfront that those discounts expires and the date they expire.
In my case, the 10% loyalty and the 7pm free both expire on different dates, about a month apart.
I have been bombarded by Sprint Text messages regarding "Being loyal customer and getting a free upgrade picture phone". Only then did I realise that my contract is up and then found out about the 2 discounts that are expiring.
I got passed to Account/Excutive services after speaking to CSR. The offer that rep made is:
1) Give me back my 7pm credit for another 2 years
2) Free Vision (2nd and 3rd line, $5 each) for 1 year
3) Loyalty discount increase from 10% to 15% for 2 years???
4) and of course free phones if I do not mind the cheap phone (Samsung A640 free , Sanyo Katan $29.99 buy 1 get 1 free)
I actually do not mind the offer since I was actually happy with my previous plan and discounts and just want the discounts to continue.
1)However, do you think I can ask for the Vision discount to be insync with the my contract ie. 2 years instead of 1?
2) If we get Power Vision Phones, what do Sprint usually do? Do they just ask you to subscribe to Power Vision or will they be willing to give the same discount as my Vision? We are looking at the Samsung 500m or A900M.
Currently I have the $5 Vision plan for the 2nd and 3rd line with $5 each available credit if we purchas any vision services. (We discontinued the main account because it was costing us $15 for the Vision plan for that 1st line) Does Sprint still offer thos service credits for Power Vision services?
Btw, my plan is the original Fair and Flexible 800 minutes for $70 and $10 for the 3rd line. I noticed a number of you got the free AAP. Well I have been with Sprint since 1999 and all I got was the 7pm and the loyal discount. No extra minutes or free AAP.
That rep from Executive Services said she will call me back next week for my answer because I said I would consult with my husband first and there is no way for me to contact her. Should I try to contact another rep to see if I can get a better deal or just to wait for the same rep (she is on vacation for 1 week) to call me back and confirm the deal above?

meme2--i don't have a lot of experience with calling into CS, but did you specifically ask for certain things and then told no or were you just letting them tell you what they were going to offer. When I called I told them what i wanted and then they counter offered me some of them. But i will be calling back after i get my new phones to try and push for more.

I have noticed that some people have a 27% corp discount and I was wondering if they would be willing to say who they work for that gets that discount. I work for Time Warner and I thought that 25% was a large discount. I know that UPS also has 25%. Is anyone higher than 27% here? For the Corporate discount that is.

How much are you paying for the 2000 minutes before discounts and when did you get that plan?
I asked retention and their 2000 minutes is 109, no Free PowerVision and no Free SMS (even though I have free SMS now on 1 line).

Here is our Retentions Plan:
2500 AT $100
Roaming $5
Line 1:

500 Text $0

Best retention still has to be the one line 1500 minute $49.99 offer. Can't be beat!
