I was browsing and stumbled upon info abour "retention" plans. How do you get them?

btw, anyone got (more)tips on obtaining a SERO plan? I took a look at the FAQ on getting a SERO plan, and I would like some more help on getting it. I failed quite a few times. If possible can someone tell me exactly what to tell to the cs rep.?

When does your contract expire?

Sprint Retentions basis your plan on several factors:
Credit rating
Number or years with sprint
How long in/out of contract
So on and so forth
Also, how often you contact CS.

do they really track how often you contact them? and do they make a comment every time you call?

that is one way or if there is a provider that can offer a better service for a lower price. dont lose your cool and get on the "im canceling" wagon the could just say "do you want to cancel now or at the end of your month?" and when you say ill have to think about you will have a note in your account that tells every rep that opens your account that your a weasel.

i dealt with the retention department today. if you dial *2 from your handset and say Cancel at the prompt, you'll be taken to the retention department.

when I did this i was asked by the lady, "how can we help keep you as a sprint customer?"

True, that Sero only allows single plans but I've been reading that depending on your service plan requirements- some people actually split their shared plan into two separate plans under SERO and still make it out cheaper...

When I call retentions, I tell them (very nicely) what I want, and we proceed from there. I didn't ask for anything more than a stock plan until I was thru my first contract. Also never, never be late on paying them. ;)

it might be better if you and your son get seperate plans, depending on what plan you have now

you cant just ask for the sero plan. i'm not even sure if i could get on the sero plan if i were to quit tomorrow. then again why would i go sero if i could do wireless advantage? :D

Completely not true.

I just called yesterday after reading all of this SERO stuff and told the lady "I would like to switch my plan." She asked what plan I wanted to switch to, and I said "the SERO plan for 500 anytime minutes". She said "Zero plan?"

That was my key that this would work. If you say "SERO plan" and they know what it is, then just hang up. If they ask what it is, then you've got them. Just say "A friend gave me the code for it, if you'd like...."

Here's the codes: #C SERO F&F 7N EVDO $30.00
#C SERO F&F 7N EVDO $49.99

Make sure they get the 7N in there, because there is another SERO that is 9pm n/w.

If they don't know what it is before you ask for it, then chances are they wont know the "rules" for signing people up. I am smack in the middle of my contract, and all I had to do was renew for 2 years....
