I purchased the Aliph Jawbone hoping to drown out air noise from an open window in the car, traffic and wind noise while walking the dog, and basic background noise at home ie. TV, Stereo, etc. It has done that and more.
It was reported that the Jawbone doesn't work well with CDMA phones, however I haven't found that to be true. I figure, if my mom (who is mostly deaf) can hear me unimcumbered while I'm driving down 95 at 70MPH with the window down, it's a keeper.
I have had no dropped connection with the headset and my Treo or my 8400.
The background noise cancelling is where it functions the best. With constant noise such as wind from an open window, it's reported they can't tell the window is down. However, it does pick up intermittent noise such as my Garmin telling me where to turn, lol. If the noise is consistant, so is the noise cancelling feature.

Incoming sound: Great
Outgoing: per family, it's GREAT
Battery life: Great, always has power at the end of the day for me.
Comfort: with a few adjustments finding the correct supplied ear piece and hook,
Great
