I'm not sure I should install this update from microsoft becase it says it will permanently change my software. I did buy windows xp home addition at a store.

Eh, you're probably going to end up installing it at some point, since you have to validate your Windows to download almost anything from Microsoft nowadays.

well I got annoyed that it kept coming up so I went ahead and installed it. It said successfull so I don't have anything to worry about right?
