Hey guys,

I have a dell laptop with bluetooth built in. I am also running vista premium and installed the vista widcomm drivers from dell. Under the old XP, there was a "My Bluetooth Places" and I could ftp into my phone over bluetooth.

Under vista, the my bluetooth places disappeared. Once I pair the devices, it shows up under Devices. I click on Properties and then the Services tab, "file transfers (obex)" shows up and I check it. But............then what? nothing happens. it doesn't show up in my computer.

How can I ftp over bluetooth into my phones, sanyo m1 and moto razr? what do i have to do to access the ftp? do I have to install something?

Thanks in advance!

I have an Inspiron 6400 running Vista and a Samsung A900M, had at first the same problem as you, and I just installed the Widcomm Stack for Win XP, it works and is simpler and more familiar to me...

Ah. I have the exact problem with my Fusic, also with Vista Business and an Inspiron 6400.

What widcomm version works best?

Personally, I use the Windows XP version, and I haven't had any problems with it. If you're more familiar with using My Bluetooth Places to deal with your devices, you may want to install the Win XP Widcomm drivers from Dell.

thanks guys. I installed the Vista widcomm drivers from the dell website and rebooted the computer. It's working. Now the FTP profile connected phones show up as a little folder in my computer.

Good to hear it's working, I may upgrade later down the road (if it ain't broke, don't fix it :p)

How do you change bluetooth stacks? I DLed the Widcomm ones from a website, and when I run setup, it keeps saying a newer version is available or that it's not compatible or something.

Uninstall your current one and then install the downloaded one (be it newer or older).
