Hey,

I was looking at the SERO threads and I think I understand what SERO plans are and I wanted to give it a try at trying to get SERO on my account. But before I do that, I wanted to get your comments on it.

Current My bill is $120.

Family Plan - 550 Day Time Minutes, Unlimited Night and Weekend, Nights start at 7PM(FREE) - $60 (10% off from my old company)

2 - Sanyo 8300 (Still has 1 Year contract left )
1 - Samsung A900M (Recently added the line, has more than a year and half left)($5 a month)
- 500 Text Messages ( Free )
- Unlimited Data Plan ( Free )

Wireless High speed Internet from Sprint for my laptop - $60

Do you suggest I try for SERO as I am trying to reduce my bill. Do you think I will still be able to get the perks?

If I completely misunderstood SERO, please feel free to correct me.

Thanks

What's the "Wireless Highspeed Internet from Sprint - $60"? Is that for the card for the laptop?

It seems like you currently hae 3 phones on the plan? Normally the SERO is best for individual accounts. If you are paying $60 for three lines, it seems good to me.

Yeah - its the card for the laptop.

Oh, I thought it could be for a family plan. I knew I misunderstood the SERO plan.

I think they have a family plan of sorts, however it's NOT going to save money, the prices I saw are basically the SAME as getting multiple Sero accounts. :)

You somewhat only genuinely save on SERO if you have a single line, maybe two.

Because the AAP are only like $10/20 per line, you somewhat save on each additional line you add.

Your SERO plan would be

Line one, 500 min, 30.00
Line two, 500 min. 30.00

Line 3 (laptop card) 50.00

So it would be 110+tax, not much savings, if any. I would wait until your contract is up, then see if retentions can get you a better deal.

Oh okay! Thanks for your input guys. I'll be sticking to my lovely family plan.

Thanks again!

He would save money...currently he's getting 550 SHARED minutes, he'd be paying $10 less for 500 minutes/line for a total of 1000 minutes. UNLESS he's satisfied with 550 shared minutes

He would lose text messages unless he can talk Sprint into giving them to him in either a one year or two year duration. Is Sero currently 7PM or 8PM? Plus he would gain mobile to mobile which is still my favorite Sprint feature of all! :)

How do you figure? He's currently paying $60 for three lines (which in itself is a good deal). If he goes to SERO on each line, it's $90 totalling.

As for text, you can EASILY get that from CS.

Also as mentioned, just use the A900 for wiress ;) . Just be sure to bring the charger with you.

But he's on a 550 family shared plan....thats 550 minutes BETWEEN 3 lines right? If he needs more minutes...then yea, he'll save TONS of money by goin on SERO...but if 550 for 3 lines works out fine, then he's good to go. Thats why I said if the 550 is working fine for him, then theres no way he should switch.

Where's the money saving??? He's paying $30 MORE for more minutes.

I thought maybe he was wanting to switch cause he was going over his minutes or something. And he has 3 lines?...wait....im confused...i thought he had 2....nevermind. Either way....DITCH the connection card, and get a data cable for your A900, that'll save you $60/month lol

You can probably talk to Retention into getting more minutes for cheap. The guy offered to upgrade my current 750 to 1400 for a mere $9 more per month. I opted not to get it, because as mentioned, we only use about 4-500 minutes per month.

Now that I come to think of it, perhaps we should have gotten it. Then just add a couple of my relatives to the Family Plan.
