just thought i'd throw out the possible idea of a Pool for us SU members. i have ran a few each year in the past, and think that we could host it at either espn, yahoo, or cbs sportsline, in a private group, and everyone donate either 100 or so su$ money to the winner or maybe even $5 via paypal.
anyone interested? i know quill, btrav maybe, bhowdy, and probably tbakergobuck, and burrito would probably be in it, what do ya'll say? selection show is this sunday, and picks probably have to be in by a week from today.

ok thats 4 so far including myself, anyone else? and where should it be hosted, and what should the winner get? su money or real paypal money? i was thinkin if su money, we could donate it to a mod before the tourney, and they donate it all to the winner after the tourney, and the same way with paypal money, we all send like 5 bucks to a mod with a paypal before the tourney, and they paypal the money to the winner after the tourney. cbs has a bracket manager ive used before that is quite easy and user friendly. any replies/suggestions?

it will be at cbs.sportsline.com , using their bracket manager, which i have used in the past, also , i need to know what yall wanna do extra if anything on the scoring:
***only i can set the values if any for these
* I can put no extra bonus, but have the weight increased as each round progresses, like a 1 2 3 4 5 6, for each round
First Round: * 1
Second Round: * 2
Third Round: * 3
Fourth Round: * 4
Semifinals: * 5
Finals: * 6
or a 2 4 6 8 10 20, just let me know how ya'll want it done and it will be set.
The Bracket Manager product allows several different scoring options. Using the Weight option, you can enter a value for each correct pick for each of the rounds. If you want all correct picks to be worth one point, just enter 1 for each round in the Weight column. The Bonus column allows you to select:
No Bonus - Only the input weight value will be credited for a winning pick.
Add Seed - The seed of the winning team is added to the correct pick total.
Ex. If the 12th seed wins and your weight is 1, then 13 points would be credited for the Win.
Multiply Seed - The seed of the winning team is multiplied by the correct pick total. Ex. If the 12th Seed Wins and your weight is 2 then 24 points would be credited for the Win.
and we will use the final game's total score as a tiebreaker
im off work tomorrow, so i will finalize the setup then. we still need to know what the winner gets, be it su money or paypal money.

How about 5 bucks via PayPal? With SU$ and me in, reality is we're not on a level playing field that way. :)
Just my thoughts. We need to fill out brackets before tomorrow, huh?

and i need everyone to agree on a point system for each round, now that the $5 via paypal thing is agreed on. then once the point system is set, i will need everyone to post an email address or pm it to me, so i can send an invite to the group i set up earlier today. then the games can begin....
also, wonderin when would be good to paypal money and who it go to, to hold till the tournament is over, then to be sent to the winner via paypal. or would yall prefer to pay after the tourney, the only thing is, the fear of someone not paying after , since they lost, where as if everyone pays before it starts, theres no problems.
just needin more info before it can all start :wavey:

I just looked at my paypal account and I only have $4.69. lol If I put some money in my Paypal how long will it take so that I can send it out? Is Papal the only way we can pay? I think it probably is a good idea that we pay first and we probably should make a cut off time. You can send the all the money to me as run to the bar. j/k
Thanks for getting it going Josh. ;)

Well, josh, since you're setting this thing up, I'd trust ya with my $5 via PayPal. I know you won't screw anyone over.
I'd say the points system with increasing points (1 for the first round and 6 for the last, or whatever) works for me.
I've got my bracket filled out on paper, just need to fill it out at cbssportsline.
Let us know when it gets going. Maybe you could put a link in your sig to this thread to get more interest.

I wonder if you can post this in different sections like the general and the water cooler. Some people might not browse to much in the sports section. How many people so far? I'm putting my money in paypal right now. When is the deadline for the money and teams?
Paypal queston. I only have $4.69 in my paypal account but not sure how put the money in so I can send it right away. It says it takes 3-4 days.

invites sent to macpcs, quill, tbaker, nino, and bhowdy.
macpcs paid , and it said this:
Total Amount: $5.00 USD
Fee Amount: -$0.45 USD
Net Amount: $4.55 USD
so yeah 4.55 x # of players = winner's pot
so including me, if everyone throws in 5, the winner gets $27.30 unless we wanna compensate for the paypal fee and send a lil more than $5. up to the sender

after you get the invite, and 1st log in, it prompts you to create a new bracket
this is perfectly normal, its because you havent created one at yahoo yet
send money, create bracket, join the group, and lose, its that simple :)

actually even if you have created one at yahoo (I already had) you create a different one for each 'pool' you're in.

Ohio State is looking like there playing a High School team. At the half OSU is 7-12 shooting 3-pointers 58%. OSU is playing great defense. That play where cook passed the ball off the backboard and Oden slammed it was sick even though it didn't count becasue of a foul. I'm glad I didn't pick the same picks for all my basketball pools.

j2k has duke as a runner up to the title, so we know he wont win it, sorry james
ben has gonzaga in the elite 8, they already lost, and southern ill in the final four, so we will have to see how the salukis do today for his chances.
mac has too many 1 2 3s and 4s in the sweet 16, and 3 1 seeds in the final four, would be a 1st to happen, but we will have to see
btrav has all 1vs2s n the elite 8, and also 3 1 seeds in the final four
quill.....just flat out has balls. ...pickin a 10 and a 9 seed in the elite 8
i have georgia tech in my elite 8, and playin winthrop in the sweet 16 at that, and i had oral roberts in the sweet 16, and holy cross is in my sweet 16, so depending on the southern illini/holy cross game today, either me or ben is gonna be hurting :indiff:
i like tbakergobuck's bracket, but his final four is a 1,2,1,2, and a 1vs1 in the champ game, good luck there
and finally, nino....3 1's in the elite 8, and 2 in the final four, good luck with that as well
so far this isnt a tournament of upsets, and if this keeps happening without any, many of our poolers here will benefit from it, but we just have to see how today goes....good luck to all :tu:

My bracket was inches away from being toast. I didn't want Ohio State to win because that would've been a great upset, but I'll take the win in OT, thus leaving my bracket alive but not exactly well. LOL

:wow: Man what a game.. Ron Lewis deep game tying 3-pointer with a few seconds left was HUGE. Xavier played one heck of a game but it's never over untill it's over. :hee: Lewis was the only Buckeye that showed up today. The Buckeyes looked out of sink most of the game. OSU scores there points in spirts which they got lucky having one at the end of the game and in overtime. OSU missed to many lay ups and I think a season high 13 turnovers but a win is a win and hopfully they got there bad game over with. I wasn't sure how the Buckeyes would do in overtime without Oden since he fould out but Conley took over and Xavier never recovered after Ron's shot. They say sometimes you just have to be lucky to advance to the next round.

so i think it will be between us 5 of who will win the money
tbaker wins the money if ohio st wins the title over florida
btrav has the same title game, but unc in the final four instead of g'town
nino wins the money if g'town defeats oregon in the final game
bryan wins the money if florida defeats tex am in the final game
and i win the money if unc beats ucla for the title

I'm a little surprised that it seems that no one was amazed with Ohio States comeback against Xavier but maybe no one watched the game. Not to many teams in College baskeball could come back from being down 9 points with 2:54 left in the game not to mention winning the game the game in overtime without one of there best players. I remember the Indianapolis Colts big comeback against the New England Patriots (21-6) in the Conference Championship game. I think that win gave the Colts a HUGE confidence boost just like I hope Ohio States win over Xavier will do. :fingers: I like what Oden said "I'm hoping we can learn from this game and know we can't just play around with teams in the first half," Oden said. "Then the second half we've got to come at them and keep coming until the game is over."
I watched the Florida vs. Purdue game today. Florida didn't play good but still won. I kinda wanted Purdue to upset Florida but then my bracket would be screwed and that would blow a chance for a Ohio State vs. Florida rematch. lol

i watched the ohio st game, i was off all day saturday, i watched games all day that day. they didnt suprise me much with needing overtime to take out a 9 seed. maybe thats why this morning on cold pizza, on the poll, they asked who the 1st 1 seed to lose will be, and the whole nation was red colored for ohio st to lose, and the state of ohio was colored blue, as the only state to vote unc (any team other than osu for that matter) as a 1 seed to lose
id pick kansas or ohio st to lose 1st, kansas has never been a tourney team and im suprised theyve made it this far. i have them goin down to ucla. and i hope the aggies down the buckeyes :wavey:

You don't win 19 games in a row just being average. Xavier had extra motivation because Thad Matt used to be Xavier's coach and he said that he was going to stay only to leave the next day to Ohio State. Some of Xaviers players Matta recruited and played in the game. Ohio State didn't play to there full potential but got the win. Xavier probably couldn't play any better then what they did and even there coach said if they played Ohio State in a 7 game series they would be lucky to win a few games. They say just advancing from the second round can be very hard which Ohio State wasn't the only #1 seed that had a close game. I could be wrong but what I get from reading your post is that you don't think Ohio State has a good team because they needed overtime to beat a #9 seed. You said you watched all the games but why not comment about Florida (1) only beating Purdue (9) by 7 points, Georgetown (2) only beating Boston College (7) by 7 points, UCLA (2) only beating Indiana (7) by 5 points? I think the seeding is a bit over rated because on any given day anyone can beat anyone.
Next year you probably should'nt watch cold pizza because you might do better in your basketball pools. :p Now if Ohio State plays another sloppy game then sure they might be the first #1 seed to lose but it's not like Florida and North Carolina blew out the #9 seeds they played. I think Kansas is playing the best right now but time will tell. :wavey:

now to pull some info from espn.com:
Blue Ribbon Tourney Guide
The knock against Ohio State is a lack of NCAA Tournament experience, and it's a fair judgment. No Buckeye has played more than two games in the Big Dance, and Ohio State, a No. 2 seed, was picked apart by No. 7 Georgetown 70-52 in the second round last March. Anything past the first weekend will be foreign territory for these Buckeyes. But inexperience hasn't bothered them so far. Barring a major surprise, look for Ohio State to make plans for Atlanta. After that, as the Fab Five found out, the road will get bumpy.
ESPN's Take
North Carolina, Florida, Wisconsin. The teams on that list -- and it is a pretty impressive list -- are the only teams that defeated Ohio State during the 2006-07 season.
the #4 Florida Gators (11-2) defeated the #3 Ohio St. Buckeyes (10-2) by a score of 86-60
------------------1-- 2 T
#3 Ohio State--- 29- 31 60
#4 Florida ------ 38- 48 86
Final
oden played 28 minutes in the florida game. Horford, cleared to play after a morning shootaround, dominated his matchup with talented 7-foot freshman Greg Oden, who was in foul trouble much of the game and finished with seven points and six rebounds.
Florida shot 74 percent (20-of-27) in the second half and looked very much like the team that swept through the NCAA tournament last season and claimed its first national championship.
Oden, David Lighty, Daequan Cook and Othello Hunter were a combined 5-of-20 from the field.
Oden was 2-of-6, hampered by Horford, Noah and Chris Richard, who went right after the player many consider to be the best center in college basketball. They used one post player to bring him out of the paint and then tried to get another one the ball down low -- hoping to minimize Oden's shot-blocking ability.
Oden finished with four blocks and a steal.
He missed his first shot and picked up a foul trying to get the rebound.
With a few minutes to play, the crowd chanted "over-rated." They followed that with chants of "just like football."

I'm not sure why even mention that espn is comparing them to last years team. :scratch:Oden wasn't 100% when Ohio State played Florida not to mention he got in foul trouble. Ohio State is a lot better now even though Ohio State didn't play that good against Xavier. Final Four - FLA/Kansas/G'Town/Ohio State
Finals - FLA over G'Town
I didn't know SU was having a bracket pool.
Ohio State wasn't impressive last weekend, so UT could beat them. I saw G'Town beat Vanderbilt here in Nashville early in the season........both teams have improved drastically since then so that may be a toss up. The way USC is playing, they could beat UNC. Memphis didn't impress me much either so Texas A&M could move past them even though I have OSU beating Memphis. I have G'Town over UNC. I had FLA over Wisconsin and KU over UCLA.

If you watched the Florida vs Purdue game you noticed how sloppy Florida played. Florida had 15 turnovers and they got a few wild loose balls that led to 3-pointers which if they didn't get then it might have been a different outcome.
For the most part I agree on your predictions for these games coming up this week. I don't think Ohio State can play any worse then what they did against Xavier. I think Oden will have another big game against Tennessee. I have no idea why sometimes Ohio State doesn't give Oden the ball. I kinda fear that Ohio State might get a decent lead and then relax which has happen to the Buckeyes a few times this year. When Oden is on and Ohio State strokes 3-pointers it will be hard for any team to beat them.

Both UT and Ohio State have improved since the last time they met so it's kind of hard to say. If Ohio plays like they did against Xavier, they will lose. If UT gets in foul trouble trying to defend Oden, they will lose. It could come down to who hits the most 3-pointers.

Yea both Tennessee and Ohio State have improved since last meeting. Looking back at stats no wonder why it was a close game. Ohio State had 20 turnovers and shot 4-14 from the 3-point line. Ohio State definitely has the size advantage.

I think they're going down..................will Oden be back for one more year?I think your all wrong......................At this time know one knows if Oden is coming back to play next year. He might not even know. Thad Matta said that he talked to Oden about it but it was a short conversation and they said they would talk about it after the season is over. There are not to many athletes in the world that will turn down millions of dollors but Oden is different so he might come back. I think if Ohio State wins the NCAA Tournament he's gone for sure and if they don't he might want to come back and try 1 more season since he's always won Championships.

Oden's last second block was AWSOME and seals the deal!!!!!!!!!Great Game!! Ohio State gets the WIN and Moves on!!!!!!You live and die by the 3-pointer. lol

The way Tennessee was knocking down 3-pointers last night I don't think there is a team in College basketball other then Ohio State that could beat them. Ohio State has yet to play a complete game.
I'm glad Ohio State is playing Memphis because it would've been like a home game for Texas A&M.
congrats to OSU, all they had to do was come out and play in the second half........thanks to Tennessee choking and throwing up bad shot after bad shot after halftimeWell it's not as easy as you make it sound. Ohio State got punched in the gut in the first half and most teams would just throw in the towel. Like I said you live and die shooting the 3-pointer. I think Tennessee had four 2 point baskets in the 2nd half and they shot 8-17 from the foul line. I was surprised that Ohio State won the game with Oden only scoring 9 points and playing just 18 minutes.

I think I have Ohio State into the Final Four. Heh. So, I was like, um, come on. But, it's the NCAA tourney, the Sweet 16, and teams can surprise you. Oden was a non-factor in the game, which, I think, is important because it shows that Ohio State doesn't need him to win. And I think it also shows how important it is for these talented players to spend time in the college game before going to the NBA.
The Buckeyes won that game at the line. They were fortunate in that a combination of aggressive play in the second half and lots of whistles got them into the bonus with just under 12 minutes to play. Had Ohio State been playing a team that was more capable at the stripe, it would have been toast, but in that head to head contest, Tennessee's poor free throw shooting was its achilles heel. That and the fact the Vols went pretty much cold during the first 10 minutes of the second half from the field.
I would bet anything that Ohio State's coach will be telling his players today that they can't play another game like this, though, where they don't show up until the second half.
Tomorrow will be interesting.
Meantime, I'm looking forward to the Oregon-UNLV game. My husband is a UNLV alum. My co-worker, Carly, and her roommate are coming over tonight after work to watch that game. Carly is an Oregon alum. So, this will be an interesting evening. Her roommate, who knows nothing about sports, filled out a bracket for the first time this year and made her picks based on mascots. Heh. She's probably get a better looking bracket than I do, which thanks to all the chalk, is ripped to shreds. Sigh.
Where's the beer?

Some poeple don't realize with Oden is that even though sometimes his stats are not impressive he makes a lot of players alter there shot, which makes them miss. Know doubt getting to the line a lot in the 2nd half and making the foul shots helped Ohio State win but they also hit five 3-pointers and played better defense. Tennessee had a good game plan keeping Oden away from the rim and trying to get him to foul out. I thought the foul where the Tennessee player ran into Oden and flopped was a joke. Dorsey and Oden matchup will be interesting.

Well Memphis has a 25 game winning streak and Ohio State has a 20 game winning streak but someones winning streak will end tonight. I think Oden will step up his game after the comments Dorsey from Memphis has made. Dorsey said "I'm Goliath, smiling wide, "He's the little man" "I'm going to outwork him to every ball." Hopefully Oden can stay out of foul trouble but if not Ohio State has shown that they can win without him. Ohio State has to play 40 mins of good b-ball and if they do they should "survive and advance".

I'm a little surprised I'm doing pretty good with my picks considering I waited to the last minute and only spent around 15 minutes on my bracket. I won a few hundred bucks in a NCAA Tournamnet office pool a few years back. In another pool I picked Pittsburg to make it to the Final Four but got the other 3 teams right. I'm mad at myself for not getting into more basketball pools. I looked at the bracket of the currnet leader of Yahoo's pool and dam he's got 55 out of 60 picks right. I have 45 of 60 picks right.
Thought this was a good story about Oden.

We saw what happend to G'Town win Hibbert went out of the game but it was another game that Ohio State showed that they can win without Oden. However I'm not sure if Ohio State can do that against Florida since Florida has 3 good big men. One of these four Ohio State players Hunter, Terwilliger, Harris or Lighty has to step up.
Even though Oden missed this dunk it was amazing how high the ball was above the rim not to mention where he jumped from. Not to many 7 footers can do that. Before anyone says it was a charge I know the call could've gone either way. Look at the facial exspressions on the Ohio State players. :scare: :wow:

That'd be me. My winning this thing came down to UNC (my boys) losing to Gtown. Had they won, I'd have been up on tbaker barely. Then if OHST (who is my pick for the championship) had won, I'd have won. This one was a REALLY good tourney for our brackets as it really is coming down to the wire, with a few of us close. I'm just a bit surprised you have chance. I picked all final four teams right and both teams in the championship right. You got 3 out of 4 in the final four right and 1 team in the Championship.
Your right it could be a high or low scoring game. Ohio State has yet to get hot shooting 3-pointers in the Tournament and if the do I wouldn't be surprised if they beat Florida by 15. It probably will come down to who takes the last shot or which team stays out of foul trouble. I think Ohio State as a team has improved a lot since there last game against Florida early in the season when Oden wasn't 100%.

I froget the exact question that reporters asked Thad Matt yesterday but I think they asked how long will it be untill a team has a chance to repeat as NCAA Champions. He said next year (meaning Ohio State).
Was Horford the only injured Florida player in the Ohio State vs Florida game early in the season? If so he didn't play like his ankle bothered him.
It will be hard challenge for Ohio State if Oden does get in foul troube. If it does happen Ohio State just needs to try to keep the game close. Hopefully Ohio State gets some fast break lay ups off turnovers. Florida had 16 turnovers in the last game against Ohio State.

Dam those tickets were cheap but you probably need binoculars to see the players. I might have went if I found out about it sooner. Hopefully before my time is up I will see a Ohio State Football and Basketball Championship game. :fingers:

Well...the NCAA March Madness 07 Simulation game had Ohio State 80 - Florida 76

The Buckeyes ended Florida's dream of a repeat crown, but it wasn't Thad Matta's impressive freshmen that turned the trick; rather, a couple of the older players led the way in toppling last year's champion.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y206/tbaker/ncaa_ch_osfl6.jpg
Florida's #2 led all scorers with 20 points, while teammate #42 had 14 and 10 boards. Florida shot pretty well for the game, hitting 46 percent from the floor, but with OSU making half its shots, the Gators were constantly playing catch-up, and time finally ran out, making Ohio State the 2007 champion.

Don't think Humphrey can be replaced and he is a big part of Floridas sucess. He alone will be missed. Take him away the other night and Ohio State probably wins the game. Noah already lost money staying this year so I doubt he risks loosing more and once one player leaves others will probably follow. Also I'm not sure if Florida University can/will match what Donavan is getting offered from the pros/kentucky. I could be wrong but I think Floridas time is over for a little while. I doubt they will ever have a team as good as this year/last years team.

Well I'm not going to argue about the outcome of the game without Lee, I'm just gonna say we would have won regardless. As far as who is leaving, besides the seniors, Brewer, Noah and Horford are all but gone. Green on the other hand might declare, then change his mind if he's not happy with where he would go. We still have some depth to be very competative, obviously though we'll never be as good as we were. As far as Donovan leaving, it won't be because Kentucky offers him more than us. We will offer him every penny or more than Kentucky. I don't see Kentucky as a step up for him really, I think it's a lateral move. UK isn't what it once was. Donovan's been building some very deep roots here, he just built a huge house and helped finance his son's school's brand new gym. I would be more upset if we lost him, than if we lost the 4 juniors on our team.

Florida's four juniors to enter NBA draft
Donovan said he returned to the team hotel in the early hours Tuesday after the Gators won their second straight national championship, met with his four heralded juniors and was pretty direct.
"What do you guys think about doing it three times?" he asked.
"All of their shoulders slumped down," Donovan said. "They said, 'We're exhausted.'"

I wouldn't set your hopes up to high. As far as Ohio State obviously they'll be very good if Oden comes back. If Oden doesn't come back Ohio State showed at times in the Tournament that they can play good without him and they do have another 7ft prospect coming in. Ohio State had a young team this year with 4 freshman playing key roles. They still made it to the NCAA Championship game so they should only get better next year. Ohio State is going for the 3rd Big Ten Championship in a row next year.

Well I think they lost like 60% of their scoring the year before they won it two years ago. Regardless, there is no way Donovan's not going to have them competative next year, they might not win the SEC, but they'll go to the tourny for sure. No matter what happens next year, these last two seasons are going to overshadow anything we do in the future.

Hansbrough, Lawson, and Ellington coming back to school. Wright hasnt made his decision yet though, the 6-9 freshman :(
Durant is leavin early, Afflalo is jumpin, Green and Hibbert from Gtown are gone, and if Oden goes too, with the 4 Florida kids, college basketball will be dominated by UNC's depth and talent. nobody could compete with them, except maybe Kansas, ESPN is saying:
1. Kansas
2006-07 Record: 33-5, 14-2
Why: The assumption is that the Jayhawks will take the mildest roster hit of any of the returning contenders. The top eight are on target to return with possibly no early-entry defections. If that's the case, the team that was within a whisker of the Final Four could be the favorite to trim the nets in San Antonio in 2008.

Complete list: Who's In, who's out of 2007 draft?
By Chad Ford
ESPN.com Archive
This is the time of year when college players begin to declare their intentions for the NBA draft.
For the most part, information received at this time of year is fairly unreliable.
Two years ago at this time, both Chris Paul and Marvin Williams were saying they wanted to return to school. We all know how that went.
But Joakim Noah, Al Horford, Corey Brewer and Josh McRoberts all decided to stay in school last season, and there seems to be a growing desire among players to stick around college for another season, even when their draft stock is high.
College underclassmen as well as international players who don't turn 22 this year have until April 29 to declare themselves eligible for the NBA draft.
Last year, 94 underclassmen and international players declared for the draft. However, 47 withdrew before the deadline, leaving 37 college underclassmen and 10 international players under the age of 22.
Who's in and who's out this year? To find out, I spoke with a number of NBA executives, scouts, NBA player agents and individuals close to players making the decision.
We'll update the list over the course of the next six weeks.
IN THE DRAFT
Players who have officially declared for the 2007 NBA draft:

Ohio State could lose Conley, Oden
posted: Wednesday, April 11, 2007 | Feedback (http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/mailbagESPN?event_id=8439) | Print Entry (http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/print?id=2833008&type=blogEntry)
Ohio State freshman point guard Mike Conley Jr. (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=31544), was the most consistent player for the Buckeyes this season, the star during the team's national title game run. With NBA scouts now talking about him as a potential top-10 pick, Conley may declare for the draft.
Ohio State always knew the possibility existed that center Greg Oden (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=31545) could be one and done, but the play of Conley down the stretch could force the Buckeyes to lose its two best players. "He's got to consider it, without a doubt," said Mike Conley Sr., who added that he is now a registered agent with the NBA.
It's not looking like Mike Conley Jr. will return next year but hopefully Oden might change his mind if he stays or the other way around. :fingers:
I think even if Oden and Conley leave to the NBA Ohio State will still have a pretty good team with the recruits and the players that are coming back. Joe Diebler broke his nose in the High School Championship game. He left the game but came back with a mask and scored 44 points only to lose by 2 points. Koufos I think is going to be a player similar to Dirk Nowitzki. Not to many 7 footers can shoot 3-pointers.

Ohio State Hoops Stars Meet to Discuss Future
Apr 16 2007 8:09AM
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State freshmen Greg Oden, Mike Conley Jr. and Daequan Cook met on Sunday in Indianapolis and weighed the pros and cons of going pro, 10TV's Dom Tiberi reported.
Mike Conley's parents hosted the meeting that included Oden's mother and Cook's mother, Tiberi reported.
There were also some of Mike Conley Sr.'s business associates at the meeting who made a presentation to the players.
Albert Powell, who was the players' AAU coach, was also at the meeting.
"It was basically an information meeting," Powell said. "The kids have been armed with information, with the pros and cons of the NBA. They have seen an actual work schedule of an NBA player, and they know it is not a vacation."
Powell said that the meeting was long and, for the players, it must have seemed like they were in a class. More importantly, he said no decision was made as far as entering the draft.
"No one has made a decision, as a matter of fact the kids are in rout back to school for class in the morning and I think that is very encouraging," Powell said. "I could not tell if the kids were leaning one way or another."
Powell said the players would meet with Ohio State coach Thad Matta early this week.
"I am sure they want to see what Thad has to say too," Powell said. "I am quite sure Thad is going to have a presentation for the kids sometime Monday or Tuesday."
Powell said a decision would likely be reached by the end of the week.

I figured Oden would take the $$$$. Not surpriesed about Conley Jr. since his stock rised so much playing good in the NCAA tournament. I am a bit surprised about cook but since he didn't sign with a agent he could come back if he changes his mind, same with Conley but that probably won't happen. Ohio State will still battle for it's 3rd Big Ten Basketball Championship in a row next year even with Oden, Conley Jr, and Cook leaveing. They won't be as good as this years team but who knows they might play better in the NCAA Tournament next year which they will make. "Ohio State had a great year," Indiana coach Kelvin Sampson said. "But the difference is that that they have a very good program. It wasn't just a great team."
