View Full Version : 2 questions about retentions

Back in November I called retentions and was offered a Krzr for $50 but I didn't take the deal even though I thought it was a great deal. Anyway, do you think if I called in the next couple of days and tell them what I was offered could I still take advantage of that deal? My next question is could I just call and say I was offered an M1 for $50 without ever dealing with retentions? Thanks for any help.

I think they write down in your notes what they offered you. Try calling, and explain how you would still like the KRZR at $50, and if there is anyway you can change the KRZR for the M1 for that price.

Good luck!

You usually have notes on the account, but if a rep offered a great deal for you, and you didn't take it, you may have missed out.

I was in a call center last week working on a few desktops, and I overheard a similar conversation. Client called up and was offered a deal...they tried to beat the system, and ask for too much, and ended up with nothing.

Thanks for your help guys. I'll be crossing my fingers and hoping I can still get the deal.

Well I called and they said they didn't see anything about it in the notes. So I didn't really want to argue...oh well.

Whenever Sprint presents an offer that good, jump on it as it usually is not able to be given after you get off the phone.

My wifes contract expires March 22. Can I call retentions now and try and negotiate something. She really wants a Q.

Just make sure you record the conversation, so you don't end up extending your contract for nothing. I don't put lying past a Sprint rep.

The fact is they lie all the time. That is quite true about accepting a deal right away, it doesn't guarantee they will actually give it to you, however it is more likely. I had a situation once (retentions) in which I didn't accept a deal initially, and I had to work them hard to finally get it. ;)

Ok guys

Just to defend some of the reps..... we are not permitted to lie... we have to tell the truth or get fired.... the calls are actually recorded and if they hear you giving inacurate info or being rude or abusive or hanging up or lying right out you can be FIRED.... Sprint really busts all of us on this...

Now about retentions and all phone reps.... whe you are offered something and choose not to take the offer and choose to escalate or "call back after you've thought about it" the offer is off the table... the person is supposed to note the account but they don't have to say what they offered you or how much or anything. The offer is valid for the life of the call or until you escalate..... and then the Supervisor can choose to not offer anything at all if the rep was being generous....

if you are getting a good deal and you don't take it you are SOL.... this is a fave rep saying.. Sh$! out of luck..... take it while the taking is good!!!!

oh and lying is not a great idea...... because there are certain deals and things that we are permitted to offer and we all know what we can't... your best bet is to be honest.... say what you were offered, tell them what you actually want and go from there.......

hope this helps

I've requested that a call be replayed before because the rep had done something other than what he said he would do, and there was nothing but closed doors. I don't know what goes on behind the scenes.

I can assure you that we don't tape every call and we can't play them back for customers... I know that reps will do things that they're not supposed to do or they may think they're doing the right thing but they mess up your account but I can tell you from a reps perspective that we have to tell the truth... at all times.. we're not even allowed to color the truth..... we are monitered for this type of activity.... if this ever happens to you get the rep ID and ask for a supervisor and say that you want to make a formal complaint.. if they won't listen email in with the id and the full situation and the id.... we will help and it will be investigated.

Why is that? "That's the policy" doesn't cut it. Sorry to put you on the spot, but you sorta volunteered for this...

Oh not a problem sweetie.. this is why I'm here.....

The calls are recorded by a server that we don't have access to .... only the upper levels do.... it's not like we have a box by each phone that we can press rewind on to let you hear the call..... trust me... If I had that power I would put oh so many reps on the spot with the crap that they pull!!!!!

We as agents don't even get to hear the calls unless we are taking them....

It is "Sprint Policy" also.. I won't blow smoke up your butt... I don't make the rules, I am only a slave to the machine.... LOL
