Free Text Messages

Hello, I have been a Sprint customer for about 5 years now. We have 2 lines with them, we get 1000 minutes and unlimited text messaging (for one line) for $75 a month.

Our contract ended in November, and I'd like to get text messaging on my phone. What's the best way do you think I can get free texts from retentions?

email ecare and tell them how long you been with sprint and ask if there is any way you could get a deal on text. thats what i did and it worked

Yep, ecare is the easiet way to go but it may also help if you let them know what you are looking to get.

500 free txt/mo is the simplest and that's what they gave me (with Sprint since 1999).
They also give $8/mo for unlimited txt as well.
The holy grail would be unlimited txt for free, but of course I hear this is very hard to get and am still unsure how people get it...

I called in to get my unl text for free. I would rather speak with someone than email.

eCare won't respond to me. I get the confirmation email that they received it and I would have a response within 24 hours. I'm at 84 hours on the first email, and 28 on the follow-up email asking them when I could expect a reply.

SC here ...... I'd love to know where these reps are getting the code to give you all free unlimited texts...... I know a few customers that I would love to give it to.....

I can assure you that there is no code in the system to make unlimited free so I'm wondering if they added a credit of $8.00 per month to offset the cost......... hmmmm.. perplexing..... now hunting I go when I go back to work.......... 500: no credit needed.
Unlimited: $8 credit.

I have tried ecare and I have been shot down about 5x in the last 5 months...so I have laid low for about 3 months....I only wanted the 500, not unlimited, I dont have any other need to text anyone else but my wife etc...but we cant call each other at work, just a short blip our baby is just about 4mo and we want to check on her from time to time, the lady at daycare likes to text us and say she is ok etc....

How much is your monthly bill?

You can get 300 for $5 per line. $20 will give both lines unlimited if you have the new Power Pack plan. It all just depends on how much you spend with the company and if you're a good customer. 500 free text isn't a big deal to get if you've been a good customer. I think any rep that you've spoken to was probably worn out from people who've been abusing the system.

CoachPelkey - I would send ecare an email that says almost exactly what you said here - you have a really good reason for wanting the free texting - and you might even say something about money being tight because of the baby - sheureka

Your best line of action is to email in and say almost exactly what you have here and that you are very happy with Sprint's service and this would just make you that much happier with them.... IF you have been a customer with no payment issues and have been with us for a while (come on now.... 6 months is NOT a long time!!) you will most likely get a an offer for them for free.....

~WORD OF WARNING~
the more that you email in looking for the free SMS text messaging (or any free service) the more notes you will have on your account saying exactly this and that you have been shot down this many times...... sometimes this can be a bad thing and can appear that you are looking to milk Sprint which will make a rep more likely to say no.....

So how would i go about getting unlimited Internet for LESS than 15 dollars a month? Cause as cool as that is, it really isn't. And after this month. I am going to be having a VERY long chat with a Sprint Rep.

My bill says i have used 1 INCOMING minute ALL MONTH and 1000 minutes OVER my 300 anytime. I only have 12 hours a day i can use my minutes and i sleep til noon or so everyday. My billl is going to be OUTREAGOUS. So i am thinking free text, or internet or half off both, would be a very good deal for me having to call customer care 5 times this month to ask them about various things on my bill. such as my credit going from 129 to 22. *** lol. Oh well, sprint and me will be good friends after the 8th!

Brandon honey..... I think you need a new plan... what type of plan do you have... maybe I can help you?

to get unlimited text messaging for less that 15.00 I would recomend emailing e-care and telling them that you love the unlimted package but $15.00 is a bit much for your budget...... we have unlimited for 8.00 so you can try and aim for that... Unlimited internet for less that $15.00..... we have some codes to give you a 5.00 credit per month on that... that can be harder to come by.....

I am on the Unlimited Incoming Calls plan. 49.99 a month, 300 anytime, unlimited text, unlimited internet, TEP. I think thats all. But yah, it says i have only used 1 incoming minute, which isn't correct at all. No way in hell lol...but i have called them a couple time and they said when the bill posts that i can get it all sorted out. so we will see....all i know is that i barely call people, but i text hella. thats why i am on the incoming call plan!

no problem... sometimes adding a new coding to the account, such as a business discount will screw with things..... trust them when they say that you should wait until the next bill cycle... most times the codes will correct themselves... but if not let us know ok..... we'll be happy to fix it.....

It may be that once the new billing cycle turns over that the code will recognise the incoming calls.... also watch the overages if you have a spending limit on your account... it can cause the service to be shut off......

I don't have a direct # but e-care is a good place to get help and get good reps like me.

Keep an eye on that spending limit for me ok honey.... if you are getting near PLEASE call or email in so we can help you out and make sure you don't get messed up over a billing error...... we can put temp credits on to make sure you don't lose service!

did you change from another plan to this plan or have you always had the unlimited plan???? If you had say a 300 txt plan and changed it over once you realised you were over your alotted amount of messages the new package won't cover the overage.... Also if they removed the package the same day that you added the new one you won't get the full benefit of say the full 300 txts and you can end up in overage

Just as an update to my previous post, I had to fix my wife's 3100 last night, and switch it out to my old 3100 (she dropped hers a bunch of times). When the tech support guys did the switch they said they would give her a month's worth of internet for free...I said I would rather have you know 300 text for free....he said he could do that for $5.00/mo. I told him there was a ton of plans that I knew he could do for better and there was unlimited text for an $8.0 credit etc...as mentioned previously on here... I explained my situation, I didnt want alot of text, but I cannot afford much more, I was very courteous, kind and he said he couldnt do much and I didnt have it in my bucket for anything for free........(whatever that means). This is getting frustrating. I cannot afford much more then 80/mo that is why I cut my sprint bill from 100 down to the current 80. I have also been trying to get with SERO to cut it down even further. Being a teacher and my wife works at a position where the money is tight and with a baby its not much easier........hey we all have our issues right? I bought an M1 this week end and lost my unlimited texts for $5.00 a month :( After emailing back and forth with a very nice Sprint rep..they finally gave me a 1000 a month for 10 bucks and a $60.00 immediate credit. Because of the powervision..my bill is going up 10.00 a month and I get less texts but they've got me . If I could have gotten the unlimited texts for $5.00 again..I would be one happy Sprint customer..but now I am a $10.00 a month less happy one.

I think the trick in getting free text messages ... is to explain to the rep why you feel that you "DESERVE" it. I didn't get free texting until I explained how long I have been with Sprint; and how I had certain expectations for them to offer SOME flexibility for loyal customers. After I told them I had been with sprint for 7 years, it was easy to get it added on.

I did have it originally on my Grandfathered Vision of $10.

Two days ago they gave me 500 Text Messages for Free. Then I get a further email from them yesterday morning saying... they are removing my Free 500 Text Messages...(:

But then it says it will be replaced with Free UL Text Messages...:)

Now I just have to figure how to upload and download pictures from sprintpcs. pictures to my new Treo 700wx- This new phone is so confusing but can't complain
when Retentions gives it to me for $149.99 free 2nd Day Shipping... then price drops by $50 on Sprint site... so I ask ecare... and they say... no reason for you to suffer when it drops $50 only a few days after you order it... so ecare issues a $50 credit to my account.

Helps to never be late in payments EVER and to be with Sprint 7+ Years.

you just have to ask- what helped me was I had u/l text msgs with my grandfather'd vision- at first they decided after looking at my acct to give me 500 free text msgs- I politely told them that I had u/l text msgs for Years- they said they couldn't do that but would be happy to give me 500 text msgs- so I said okay- SERO 500 has been a savior and I still have my discounts (5%, 16% and 20%)- then I get an email the next morning saying... sorry we had to remove your 500 free txt msgs...(: ... but the rep said after talking to one of his colleagues- they were able to set up my free u/l text msgs.
