I think they may have lots of areas where they run GSM for roaming revenues.

Altell service runs on CDMA, but they do have a GSM network that they sell roaming service to the other GSM carriers

perhaps you did not understand what I was saying. My understanding is that Alltel has GSM deployed in their license areas for the purpose of getting roaming revenues from other GSM carrier's customers. I did not say their own CDMA customers could roam GSM.
