What is a credit class upgrade ?

Some people with bad credit have to give a deposit money that Sprint holds hostage
kinda good credit gets a spending limit maybe $500
great credit gets an unlimited spending limit

is there anything better?

My perfect credit score demands the best

How does one find out what their spending limit is and what does having a spending limit actually do?

thanks for threadcrapping, both of you...

credit class determines things like how many lines you are eligible for, and what kind of deposits you have. it always has to do with how Sprint will "work" with you on a financial issue (this one i am not 100% sure about).

this isn't about deposits, and this isn't about spending limits, so please, if you two could start a seperate thread...

anyone else wanna help me?

Ree :)

Call sprint, try tech support or retentions. Ask them to review your account for a manual credit class upgrade and to contact the ICE team.

If you haven't been given one in over a year and are always on time, the class should be upgraded no problem. The "issue" sometimes is getting a rep who will actually review it and then contact ICE for final approval of a new credit class. Also, it helps to have a "goal" to state to the rep such as "I'm limited to 2 lines now and really could use 4 lines."

Its like getting your limit with Visa raised for showing you know how to pay your account. Why get a 20,000 limit if you will never use it? :)

When you call *4 at the end it tells you what your bill is, what your spending limit is, and how much of your spending limit remains. It controls how much you can owe sprint before service is suspended to make a payment. It can allow you to control what your kids are doing with their cellphones so you dont get slammed with a $1,000 bill for casual texting, data and overages!

Spending limits and credit classes determine how many lines of service you can have on your account and if you pay a deposit or not. You can have 1,2,3,5, or 10 lines of service available. Your limit can range from $125 to unlimited, all determined by the almighty credit class.

reemusk,

It will happen automatically. Very rarely will they up your limit, but it never hurts too try. Good luck!

As a customer who has had it raised from 2 to 10 in short order, I can tell you its quite possible to get it raised on manual reviews. Follow the steps I suggested and it worked fine for me :)

Edit:

Sprint told me it's all automatic, but when they reviewed the perfect payment history they realized it wasn't as automatic as they claim :)

I've been with Sprint for years... I signed up when I turned 18 and they had never automatically updated my credit class. I had to call them last year and have them manually review it.

Just called up *4 and it never mentions what my spending limit is... does that mean I have none?

Quite possibly. No limit with 5 lines available is likely your credit class, though only a sprint rep (phone or email) can tell you for sure.
