View Full Version : Katana much stronger on 800MHz than a Sanyo 2300 or a 2400.

Was in the Okefenokee area this weekend (the true boonies, great stars at night, though!), and I noticed my son's Katana did indeed perform much better holding a weak Alltel digital signal than did my 2300 or my daughter's 2400. The 2400 essentailly was barely functional (barely able to make a call, unable to send a text message), and my 2300 was a touch better at holding a digital call, butit haad a hard time. The Katana was more stable. My 2300 would show analog at times as well, but I could never get a call to actually connect.
I guess this partially supports the old notion that many Sanyos are poor on the 800 MHz band. I wonder if this is changing, as the Katana did better, with an internal antenna to boot.

It seems the same as my old SCP-8100

Meaning, your 8100 did not do well on 800?

I have no idea what band or whatever the SCP-8100 is but the signal seems the same as the katana I just acquired.
