I believe that the m1 is $167 on the sero plan (I don't know if that applies to only new lines or if you can get it at that price after 2 years). Depending on your rate plan you might wanna call up retentions and let them know you are trying to renew your contract. Depending on the time you have been with sprint, as well as how much you pay a month they might be able to get you the m1 for cheaper... its at least worth a try.

yup retentions because if you go into a store they wont be able to give you the discount because your plan is not higher then $35.00 a month.

Not really the best way because when i was looking for one and checked ebay their prices were $260-299 used and new. Try craigslist. i was fortunate to get a new one for $200. i would go with sero though if you can.

You can get from retentions, if you get the right person, the same deal I got. My contract was up for over a year, been with Sprint since 98-99. I called up and got the M1 for $49 and got my wife a KRZR for 99. The guy threw in the leather case for the M! for free. I also changed my account a little go more things for about 20 less then I was paying. I basically told the guy the at where I work you can get a Verizon discount. I told him my wife didn't want to change, just wanted a new phone that was good and slim. The moral of this story is don't be afraid to ask. If you don't like the offer, don't take it. Call back, ask to talk to someone in retention and you will possibly get someone that will help. I am not sure if there is a set price for people with Sero.
