My 2 year contract with Sprint is up & I am planning on upgrading from my Sanyo PM-8200 which I've had for over 2 years to a newer phone. The battery life on my Sanyo is dying - a fully charged battery lasts only one day without me hardly using it.

So I've been checking the post and deciding over between the following phones right now:

Sprint PCS Vision® Phone KATANA™ by Sanyo® (Black)

Sprint Sanyo 8400

Sprint Power VisionSM RED MOTORAZR V3m by Motorola®

The posts I have read make me think that both the Razr and the Katana are somewhat difficult to work with. I have a friend who has complained about the Razr in terms of having problems with the keys and using the confusing menu along with side buttons. She does enjoy the volume on the ringer as well as the call quality. The battery life seems pretty decent. The Katana seems to have problems with the keypad, poor ringer quality, poor battery life and so so phone call quality (please do correct me if i'm wrong). I haven't read much complaints about the 8400 in fact most have been pretty positive. I have always gone with Sanyo phones because I know they are most effective with the Sprint network. But now I'm not sure what to do.

Does anyone have suggestions on which model may be a good upgrade from my current Sanyo, any of the above or other phone models that are available with Sprint?

Feedback is appreciated!
Thank you!:wavey:

After the 8200 I think that the 8400 would be the perfect upgrade. the new features and the phone itself is amazing.

I also went from the 8100, to 8300, to the 8400, iv tried alot of other phones but the sanyo line keeps drawing me in. Depending on how much you use your phone (just casual talking or actually using it for everything and then some) id get either the katana or 8400

My Katana has been as reliable as an anvil. My only problem, is I'd like the ringers to be a bit louder. The Katana is mostly a squashed PM-8200/8300. If you have EVDO available, and can afford the MRC for it, I'd go with the 8400. But if you want to stay with the slower internet, or don't want to pay for EVDO, I wouldn't have a problem suggesting the Katana.

yes on the 8400. i had it for a couple of months and was blown away on the battery life. it lasted me 4-5 days with my normal use. that be ur best bet. plus its only 100 bucks now with a 150 rebate. i payed 179 for it.
