Maybe it's just me, but I feel like the speaker on my M1 isn't as clear as previous phones I've had. I kinda wish you could turn the volume down another notch as well. I was just curious whether anyone else felt the same about the speaker. Thanks.

I think it's outstanding, for music, i haven't used it much for calls. I have noticed at max volume hip-hop, rap can sound distorted. but i am very happy with it. as long as the speakers last..

Since the M1 has two stereo speakers, I can assume they're small speakers. Which puts that phone in about the same boat as Many other phones (small speakers). IMO they're trying to get more performance out of the small speakers than they can handle, without distortion. Rather simple, really. :)

What do you mean about "turning the volume down another notch"? I get a little distortion at top volumes, also, but it's too loud that high anyway! I always listen to the speaker with it more than half way down. Great speaker volume, but wow, I don't need to hear it in the basement! :)

No no... my bad... I mean the inside speaker. The one used for listening to the person on the other end.

I wish that I could get more volume out of earphones with it. the ones that come with the phone are fine. But I HATE earbuds. I like to use my own "basic" headphones, and the volume isn't very good at that point. With my LG Fusic i had the same issue, however, the seperate volume control on the wire itself going to the headphones, helped out and fixed that issue.

I amplify my mp3s.

Well in this ever growing Conveinent world, i just don't wanna have to do that. Also, I don't have tme for that. I don't listen to a whole lot of MP3's anyways. I listen to the sprint radio and Sirius, and also, My internet radio stations. GO ORB!!!

you could use the adapter from your Fusic with the M1, if you've still got it...

To me the 9000 and 8400 earpiece sounded a little better then the M1. After having a LG and a Motorola I didn't relize how much more I liked there earpiece sound quality compared to most Sayno phones. One good thing with Sanyo phones is that the earpiece can be very loud if needed but unless they improve the sound quality I probably won't buy another one. I don't really care for Samsungs phones because most if not all have the annoying noise cancellation so called feature. I know sound quality is subjective and I know I'm very picky.

I agree tbaker... the only real problem I have with Sanyo phones is the earpiece sound. I thought for some time that that was the way cell phones sounded until I used my buddies 4050 to make a call... wow, the best earpiece sound I've ever heard, including some landline phones. I'm not sure if my m610 has that noise cancellation in it or not, but I still prefer it over the Sanyo's I've had in the past. But everybody's ears are different I guess.

I have to agree that the m1's speaker quality (while on a call) sucks. I liked my m610 better. I can hear people more clearly with that phone than the m1. On the other hand when I first got my m1 and called up my friend she said she could hear me better with the m1. With the m610 I think it's not as loud which is why people couldn't hear me as well but with the m1 its super loud so they could hear me well. I just hate how distorted it sounds sometimes. I can't get the volume at just the right setting. Tbaker I agree with you on the motorola sound quality. Not the lg though. Not loud enough for me and I had the lx350 and the fusic. When I had the razr though now that was excellent-call/sound quality. Everything else sucked...slow menus...freezing up on me until I have to pop out the battery. Ridiculous. I would have kept it if it weren't for those problems.

My wife has always started off talking really loud and it can be really annoying when using a Sanyo phone. It's hard to explain but I can live with it but just rather not. It seems like most if not all Sanyo phones I've had the earpiece volume flucuates a lot from leval 1 to leval 2 (no inbetween). I agree with Kat, the Toshiba 4050 had the best earpiece sound. Carterism have you had the Fusic? I thought it had a good earpice sound quality. At times when I'm in a loud eviorment I wish the Motorola Q earpiece sound could be a tad louder but oh well at least it's clear.

mine sounds great and i love it. :)........ :tu: Mine sounds fine to me too. One thing I really cant stand is a quiet earpiece or one that has that *^% noise canc. crap like in most Samsungs. But once again, the M1 is the perfect phone thus far "FOR ME" no complaints here

Noname the first thing to go with old age is your hearing. j/k How would you compare the M1's eapiece sound quality to the Fusic's? Some people just aren't as picky others. I don't know how some people can listen to people when there earpiece sound is so loud I can hear what the other person is saying and I'm a few feet away.

Had the 610 and you made the right decision getting the m1. Just get a case for it.
