Why do you need drivers? I just connected it to the computer and and XP recognized it

You need to go to Menu on your phone, Tools -> USB Connection -> Mass Storage if you want to transfer files between computer and M1

...or have your phone open when you plug it into your computer then it comes up with a menu and select mass storage.

I figured it out, when xp asks to install the hardware click cancel. Then make sure the phone is closed. When you plug it in open the phone and select your option on the screen such as "mass storage device" I noticed that for some reason when you plug it in with the phone open it doesn’t work

I do it this way. I open the phone and select "mass storage device", then I plug in the USB cable. That way my computer doesn't become confused by what I just plugged into it.

when i plug the cable in with the phone open, the phone comes up with a menu of pictbridge, mass storage, or modem use. that way i don't have to go through menus to do that.

You can install the drivers if you download the connection manager. once i had installed that it detected and installed the phone fine. and no longer get the pop up no matter what order i connect it.

Select you OS and then "Sprint PCS Connection Manager for Phone as Modem/USB Cables" and it has a current list and download link.
