I touched on this a little bit on another thread but I think it's a question better asked here.
I got SERO through Sprint directly 2 weeks ago, before the switch from Inphonics.
I never saw anything about unlimited picture mail on my plan (on my account on sprint.com).
Then when I heard about the free unlimited text messaging this week, I figure I have nothing to lose by e-mailing e-care and asking for the text and the picture mail.
I got this response this morning:
"Dear Christopher,

Thank you for contacting Sprint. I will be happy to assist you regarding Unlimited Text Messaging.

I have successfully added the Unlimited Text Messaging for free on your account however, I am sorry to inform you that we do not offer any unlimited picture mail and I apologize for any misinformation.

You can also confirm the update after 4 hours after receiving this email from your online account.

Thank you again for emailing us, it was a pleasure serving you. Please feel free to write back if you have any further questions. I will be more than happy to assist you."

Hey, I'm thrilled to get the unlimited text.
Now my question is, after looking at sprint's site, it says unlimited picture mail is part of a Power Vision Access Pack.
From the Sprint site:
"The Sprint Power Vision Access Pack ($15/month) includes the following:

* Unlimited Data Access
* Unlimited Sprint Picture Mail NEW
* Unlimited Web Browsing
* Sprint Mobile eMail NEW
* On Demand
* NFL Mobile
* Sprint TV
* Sprint Music NEW & IMPROVED
* Sprint Navigation NEW - pay per day"

So is this unlimited EVDO I am getting with my SERO 500 plan?
And if it is, does that mean I ALREADY have unlimited picture mail?
Thanks for any help in clarifying this.
That rep is misinformed, as all SERO voice plans include Free Unlimited Picture Mail. It's not something that is always automatically included, and many people have to call or email to get it added. Call or email again, and tell the rep that it needs to be added because it is included with your plan.

Also, Free Unlimited EVDO is included with all SERO plans as well.

Hey guys, just switched over from Verizon and picked up this plan with a Q - good so far. Question though: I don't know if I have the unlimited texts on there.

Your Current Plan
Call *2 from your PCS Phone or call 1-888-211-4727 for info about your subscriber agreement.

Is all it says under plan details, and nothing in current usage. Is there something I need to do, call, email, whatever to make sure I get it?

Are you able to view your current usage? If not call *2 and ask if you were put on the correct plan, the one that includes unlimited SMS messaging.

If you can view your usage, it will show up as Text messages under all of the airtime info.

There wasn't anything there before, but now it shows up as casual, not unlimited. Guess I'll call tomorrow. Thanks Dan!

I am not sure if this is the right area to ask this, but since it deals with SERO mainly I figured I would give it a shot. I signed up for SERO 2 weeks ago. At the time the Q seemed like the best phone for me since the Mogul appeared to be on a constant delay. Now that it appears that it will be released on the 18th I am looking at swapping my Q for it. I have a few questions.

First, is this even possible? Since it doesn't go into "retail" until July, is this phone even eligible with a SERO plan?

How much should I expect to pay for it? Do they go by the difference in the retail price or what I actually paid for it ($79)? With this being a new phone and not technically in the stores, would I still be able to get the mogul at a contract price?

How do I return my Q? I know that during the initial release the Mogul is only available through telesales. Do they mail me my phone with a shipping label to send the Q back or do I have to go to a corporate store? This is my only phone so I would hate to be phoneless while waiting on the new one.

Forgive me if this is not the right area or has been covered already. I have searched by came up empty.

I'm looking at my girlfriend's account online and under usage...

it says

http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i261/twiztedjustin/Stuff/forum/text.jpg

This is a Sero account created this week by me on the phone with Sprint. The agent confirmed unlimited text.. I saw another person's screen shot and it shows UNLIMITED instead of saying like "300" or "1000".

Here is my account
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i261/twiztedjustin/Stuff/forum/text2.jpg

I have 300 until next week, but before I had this plan , the occasional text messages looked like that online (I believe) And doing the math, subtract her first bill from her credit limit , add in the used texts @ $0.20 a pop and it almost adds up. So she is being charged for them. They are currently closed so blah..

Are we the only ones that weren't given free text like that when we should have been ? I'm going to try my luck with calling them tomorrow.

I had the same problem when I activated my SERO plan. I called *2 and talked to someone that had no idea what the plan was. He refunded me the charge for the casual text messages but then added the $15 unlimited text option. I contacted e-care later that night, explained my situation, and it was fixed the next day.

If you got your phone from sprint SERO via telesales, you call up and say that you wish to exchange the phone under the 30 day option and that you are interested in the 6800.

Sprint sends you the 6800 and a return kit to send the Q back. Make sure you note the tracking number to conform it was received in the warehouse!

Once it is received, you should be liable for the "new customer price" or the "sero price" for the 6800. Basically it is as if you never had the Q and had bought the 6800 as a new customer.

Yeah it seems like the best way would be to use ecare. I just sent them an email explaining the situation and asking for the $20.00 in current usage be credited and the correct plan added to the account.

So my SERO plan is all set, free unlimited text, pic mail and EVDO, add on the NFL Network, NFL Mobile, 7 p.m. nights.
I am very happy I ported from VZW.
I spend $15 less a month after taxes and am getting so MUCH more.
I'm getting a Slingbox this weekend and then the fun really starts.

From the link I gave you above:

"If a rep wont accept the generic emails, you can use the email tristan.kime@sprint.com. She has given permission to use her email address at buzzaboutwireless.com"

I am not advocating lying, but if you just want to say that "I would like to switch my plan because I just resigned my 2 year contract, and then I heard about this SERO plan from a Sprint Employee. She told me to call in and switch to the SERO xxx min plan for xxx dollars (whichever one you want). Could you please help me with that..." If they ask you for the email, give the one above. Good Luck and keep us posted...

Sooooo....How I did:
I tried (again) to talk someone into the SERO plans, but it's just not working, I think they must really be cracking down (probably doesn't help that I *just* renewed my plan). Instead I got her to give me $10 credit each month toward the Vision plan so now I just pay $5 a month for it and I also got 500 free text messages on both of my lines. She also said that when I get a Vision enabled phone on my other line in October that they would "supposedly" add Vision to it for free. I also get a %15 military discount.

Not too bad, all in all I'm fairly happy

Hi, a question for people who got the unlimited text promotion. When you log on to your Sprint account at their website, does it show Unlimited Text under plan details? I got the promotion for unlimited text and when I check current usage it does show
TEXT MESSAGES UNLIMITED 0 UNLIMITED.

I'm just curious if I should email/call them and tell them to list it in the Plan Details section?

This is what it currently shows when I check Plan Details:

Sprint Fair & Flexible Plan

* Adjustable Anytime Minutes
* $30 Minimum Monthly Charge
* AMERICA - ROAMING Included
* Nationwide Long Distance Included
* Unlimited Night & Weekend Mins. Included
* Nights: M-Th 7PM-7AM Wknd: F 7PM-M 7AM
* Unlimited Vision Access
* Unlimited Mobile to Mobile
* Caller ID, Call Waiting
* Three-way Calling
* Voicemail

Thanks

Sorry you didnt get it but at least you got a pretty good plan anyway... It all hit or miss when you call as to whether you get a sympathetic rep.

The reason unlimited text messages isn't listed under Plan Details is that it is a promotion and therefore not technically not part of the plan.

It is a separate code entirely that can be applied to your account and you will have it for as long as you have your SERO plan, but it isn't part of the actual plan.

CrazyGuy
06-16-2007, 09:26 AM
The reason free unlimited text messages is not listed under Plan Details is because it isn't part of the plan and not everyone has it or will have it.

It is a promotional code that can be applied to your account, but isn't technically part of the plan.

However, you will have the free unlimited text messages for as long as you have the SERO plan.

I have a question about the unlimited text. I just switched to the SERO plan but have it starting at my next billing cycle which is July 3rd. Does anyone know if I will get the unlimited text but the incentive will be over (unless they extend it) before mine actually starts (just switched in the last week)? I didn't think to ask the guy that set me up and it took hours to get someone who knew anything about the plan so I don't want to go through that again just to ask this question. Anyone know?

Sprint's definition of unlimited texting is unlimited texting to anyone in the US or Canada, regardless of carrier, correct? (also, I assume unlimited texting to e-mail addresses, too, right?)

If you have a sero plan and then move to an affliate market, it's unlikely they will force you to switch plans. There are folks who live in affliate markets who have signed up for Sprint SERO plans using a corporate market address.

Thats usually when the trouble strikes if it happens.

No, I don't have much for credit. I'm young and haven't really used much credit (never tried for a loan or anything) so I'm guessing my credit scores pretty low.

I have unpaid student loans, unpaid credit card bills, Hospital bills, and an Identity Fraud alert on my credit reports. U could also try and wait til your 3 yr anniversary and try again to see if the deposit requirment is gone. Unless you really need this line. I was told I needed a deposit this time last year and that I could only get a line if it was part of a family share plan. I thought it was a dumb idea since Sprint called me to tell me this and I didn't care about getting a 3rd line at that time. I called in to Sprint in February and asked about the deposit and the family share plan and was told I didn't have to do either.

So I called them yesterday and got my SERO order and phone ready. I didn't have my credit card on me at the time so I asked them if I could call back later with the info and they said that's fine. They said they have it all ready for me for when I call back (they gave me the phone number and account number). Today I see the fusic has gone up from $10 to $80; so my question is, do you think they will charge me the $10 price they were giving me yesterday or are they going to switch it to $80 on me? I'll be calling in the next few hours.

They will not check with the rep, but be honest, and dont use his emial without his permision. At Buzz about wireless, tristan.kime@sprint.com was given out by somebody with her permission to use it. There are also generic emails such as savings at sprint.com, you can even use sprintsucks@boostmobile.com (anything then @boostmobile works, how funny is that?)

Sero is only designed for new customers, so it may take a few tries to get it switched. If you find a rep who is willing to do it, it can be done.

It doesn't have anything with your account being converted to Ensemble (Sprint's new billing system). The rep was simply going by the book, as SERO is technically only reserved for new lines of service only.

Yea, if you're wanting to activate a new line, then you shouldn't have had any trouble. Call back and talk to a different rep.

Well, if it's a new line then you'd need to let them know you want to add it to that line. It won't be added on automatically even if you have it on the first line.

I currently have a family plan with Verizon, and Im thinking about making the switch with SERO, however I was wondering if I could get a SERO plan and add phones to the plan or do I have to get multiple plans?

Also, with regards to the unlimited data, does that include emails? On my 650p I send/receive my emails via Versa Mail. If I used a similar program does that usage fall under the unlimited data or do I need to add options to the SERO plan?

Thanks,

John

If you scroll through the hundreds of SERO pages you will find that it does not have a family plan. You would have to get multiple plans(e.g. 3 separate 500 mins Sero plan) but they can all be billed to the same account.

SERO comes with Power Vision and until 6/30 unlimited text. So you should not have a problem with the emails since PV comes with unlimited data and web browsing.

Good luck.

When I got nothing with my search I figured that was the case. Thank you for responding. Either way, it is a sweet deal for those that need the unlimited texting AND data.. I spend more per month for JUST my data with Verizion.. :scare:

One other question, while Ive had a 650p for 2 years I might want to upgrade the 755p. What kind of options will i have with wanting to upgrade phones? Will I have to pay the full price of the phone or will I have options?

Ouuu.. I can get insurance with SERO, right?

Thanks again,

John

BrucePDA

You cannot bring your phones from Verizon to Sprint but you would qualify for new user pricing and get a 755p for $279.

Yes, you can add insurance to phones on the SERO plan, it's $7 a month.

lol.. no no no.. Its definitely time to moveon from the 650... Its been a great phone but I deserpately want a new phone.. What I meant to say... I will probably want to trade up from the 755 before the 2 year SERO contract ends, will I be able to? What kind of options will i have with wanting to upgrade phones? Will I have to pay the full price of the phone or will I have options?

You can get the 755p when you sign up for Sero for $279.99.
After that, Sprint usually lets you upgrade phones with $75 or $150 off depending on how long you've had you phone- of course this upgrade option usually is offered on plans $34.99 and above.

I've read you can get around this snag or sometimes they'll let you do it anyway if you picked the $30 sero plan.

Negative. It's not an issue of a rep being willing to let you do the upgrade. Sprint's system simply won't process the upgrade if the base price of the plan is not $34.99 or higher.

So supposedly after fixing my SERO plan today (I guess it was really messed up and was classified as a F&C plan) they included the unlimited text.

The lady said however that the unlimited text won't display in usage because something about its included on the plan itself. Is this true?

Nope, she didn't know what she was talking about. Free Unlimited Texting isn't included with the SERO plan, it is just a promotion that Sprint is running at the moment, and it is scheduled to end at the end of the month. For those signing up with SERO as part of the Unlimited Texting promo, it will show up under "Usage" when you log onto your account at Sprint.com.

I'm not sure why they wouldn't let you get the 6800 on a new SERO line if you've got an email address to give them. What department are you going through? The best people to talk to, regarding new and existing SERO account, is Enterprise Telesales. Give em a call at 1-888-253-4030.

Well, you can go to a corporate store and explain the situation to them and they can override the price and give you the "instant rebate" as if you were upgrading the phone with a plan of 34.99 or higher even if you are on the $30 SERO plan. Just have the rep notate the account to explain it to the guys at the corp store. Good Luck.

I have been switched to the new billing system and now my SERO plan seems weird.

It says I am on the Sprint Wireless Adv F&F 1250- $49.99. It no longer list Unlimited vision or america roaming included in plan details. However under add ons it says picturemail included and EVDO casual included. I also see under my current usage that I now have unlimited text messages. I never got around to calling about that so I guess it just happened during the migration. Has anyone else experienced this.

If you just got the SERO plan, then you absolutely should have free unlimited texting. Call employee accounts 1-866-250-2221 and get them to add it for you. Refer them to the SERO website if they don't help right away. If they still don't help, ask to speak with a supervisor. And make sure you tell that that unlimited texting shown on the website is one of the main reasons you switched to Sprint, and that you have 30 days to back out of your contract and that you will if they can't figure it out. That should get it added for you pretty quickly. Good Luck and post back with your experience. Thanks.

There are 3 SWAC plans. Only the 500 minute plan is $15 per month. The other 2 are the same minutes and pricing as 1250 and 2000 SERO.

It could've been a mix up during migration, who knows.

I just got off the phone with them...sprint frustrates me... She said that the unlimited text is a promo (which i knew) til the 30th (which i also knew)... BUT after the 30th its supposed to be a $15 dollar fee to keep it :td: ...She said ppl might get text messages about it on the 1st or 2nd or something asking if they want to keep the unlimited texting or not...So im starting to get pretty mad like look thats not what the rep told me when she set it up :confused: .. She told me nothing would change...and shes like well thats what theyre telling us around here...no one knows how its going to work out, the best i can tell you is that wait and see if you get a text message, if you dont then they are letting you have it for free....This was the 3rd rep ive talked to today, i just got my phone in the mail today...i think im done with sprint for the night :bang: :bang:

Yo MidwestDrummer, just a heads up, but you probably should blank out your phone number. Probably don't want to put that out there. Looks like you blanked it out in most places, but you missed the blue/purple bar in the Current Usage Section. I.E., "Usage for xxx-xxx-xxxx". Also, damn, your usage is crazy. Virtually no M2M, FIMF, or even Anytime, but 2000+ Off-peak and ~1500 texts. Your girl / wife not on Sprint I take it?

gmitch528,

As Midwest said, you should not see that on your plan detail screen. It should show up no where except the Current Usage section as he showed above. Sounds like the rep is misinformed and is thinking people are adding the $15 unlimited texting and getting a limited time service credit to offset that, so it would expire in her mind. That is actually not the case, it is a FREE $0 add on option. Call back and ask the rep to remove the unlimited texting $15 add-on and instead find the code for FREE unlimited texting at $0. If it helps give him/her the code for it:

#C SERO SMS UNL $0

I explained that the previous woman made a note on my account.. Hold... 10mins later.. No free unlimited texting... I explained that the website says it and that I can't waste anymore time on this I have a Contractor to deal with.. Hold.. Comes back.. Okay, Im going to add text messaging to your account. Do you want this? YES... Okay, it will be $XX per month.. NO.. Got so fustrated that I hungup..

Technically, you are not eligible but at the same time, EA wasn't really screening all the calls that came in the first couple days of the promotion. They pretty much gave it to anyone who asked for it.

I called to get unlimited text messages on my SERO plan, which is several months old. The woman who was helping me immediately said "no problem" and pulled up my account. She looked it over and said that I currently have 9pm evenings and she could just switch the whole thing to the new plan to give me the 7pm evenings. I let her work her magic, of course.

So calling that number was painless and quickly updated my plan to the current offering.

We had the same problem this week - SERO plan, but unlimited text messages was not showing under usage.

I found an e-care email address somewhere in SU and sent an email to it. I received a response within a few hours and provided the needed info and unlimited texting was added no problems at all. I did mention that the website showed this as did the person I talked to.

We even called back later and added another account (line) - not family plan a totally new line and they mirrored it have the same things the first one did! Text was included!! :headbang2

The email I used was ecare3@cc.sprintpcs.com.

I signed up for SERO last november, and have loved this plan from day one. There was really only one downfall when I got it, that it didn't include text messages. Oh, and the nighttime minutes started at 9pm. No big deal, I'm paying the extra 10 bucks for 6pm nights, and the 2 people i most often text also have sero, so we just send picture mail back and forth all the time instead of texts. Well, I had heard about the free unlimited texts a couple weeks ago, so I sent sprint an email, to see if I could get this added to my sero plan. The response was yes, if I signed a new 2 year contract. They provided an 800 number, for some kind of employee call center. I tried calling a couple times, and kept getting shuffled around between reps that didn't think they could add the free texts, and after about 2 hours of trying, I gave up for the night. I replied to thier email the next day, and expressed my dissatisfaction with the phone reps, and asked if they could provide me with another number to call, where I might reach someone that could actually help me. I never got a response, and things have been pretty hectic for the past couple weeks, and I forgot all about it. Here we are today, July 1st, one day after the free texts promotion ended, and I remembered about the email. I figured I'd call *2, just to give it one last shot, even though I knew it was probably too late. After explaining my situation to the rep a couple of times, she put me on hold for a minute, and then came back and said, "the free unlimited texts were added to your plan on june 14th, and your new 2 year agreement started on june 14th". Now, I have no intention of leaving sprint anytime soon, (had them for almost 6 years now), and the sero plan saves me a ton of money, so I'm kinda glad that it's locked in for another 2 years, but how can they renew my contract without actually telling me? sorry for the long post.

Well, that's pretty much a moot point, seeing as how you had every intention of renewing your contract. You knew that adding Free Unlimited Texting would require a new 2-year agreement, and you still wanted to add it to your plan.

So does the unlimited web access under the sero plan use up any of your minutes?
No.

You're absolutely right, and I'm not about to call sprint and complain or anything. I love my plan, I'm happy I now have free texts, and I'm thrilled that my phone bill will be no more than 40 bucks a month for the next 2 years. It just seems odd to me that they did that, without me actually agreeing to it.

Ok, basically, what would be one reason I would want to go with a Sprint SERO plan (and a Sprint PCS only phone) over a Nextel SERO plan and Nextel+PCS phone?

correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears the Motorola ic902 is more robust than even the Sanyo M1 (or the 8400) is.

Sprint SERO plans include all of the following:

Unlimited Vision or Power Vision access
Unlimited Roaming
Unlimited Mobile to Mobile
Nights and Weekends starting at 7:00 PM
Unlimited Sprint PCS Picture Mail with Video Mail

I mean, it's not even close. Sprint's SERO plan is million times better than Nextel's SERO plan.

P.S. - What do you mean when you sayd that the Motorola ic902 is more robust? That sounds odd.

robust; meaning it has all the features of the PCS phones while having all the features of an iDen walkie-talkie.

Ok, I wasn't aware that those other things were not in Nextel Sero; thank for informing me (I didn't want a Nextel plan; I just always wondered).

It should take affect by the next billing cycle. You can also call CS and confirm it with them- which is what I'd do if you're having doubts...

Roaming is INCLUDED at no additional cost (domestic roaming that is). So you can roam if you need to. Sprint's general rule of thumb is as long as you don't use a "majority" of your used minutes roaming, then you shouldn't have a problem. As far as data roaming goes, I don't know if there are any amount restrictions. I have used my phone to browse while not on Sprint's network, and haven't seen any additional charges on my bill. I can't say how much is OK though. So the only additional charges I can see is if you go over your anytime minutes or download ringers, premium content, etc. That is about it. Hope that helps.

How do you know a tower is not operating near your house?

I called tech support to tell them that I couldn't make/receive any calls from when I lost reception until the time I spoke to them, which was approximately 9 hours. The rep confirmed there was a tower that was experiencing problems.

I asked this in the other thread, figured id try this one too.....

I have a question...but ill explain the situation first...

About two weeks ago i got my moto q (love it) with a sero plan...now when i set it up the rep said i had my 30 days right to cancel and what not...so im like ok, i know i wont cancel but thanks for the info. Well a couple of my friends have been asking me about the plan and stuff so i referred them to the website.. Well sprint went and changed the sero site, apparently you can sign up online again... Now i originally wanted a mogul but they only offered the 6700 so i went with the q. Well now the mogul is online with the sero pricing of 288. and im like because i would have waited the extra two weeks to get the phone had i known...

so now i want to know could i return the phone and keep the plan and get the mogul?? or would i have to cancel the line or whatever (not willing to go thru all that just to get the phone). i got the q for 79.99 and they charged me 199.99 so i have a credit of 120 and i dont want sprint to give me a headache trying to take that off of there since they love to screw up simple stuff...any help or advise??? again i have no problem keeping the q, i just wanted the mogul in the first place...

Email ecare and explain the situation in detail. You ARE allowed to exchange your phone for any other phone (provided you pay the difference), within 30 days of purchase of that phone. So, if you are within the first 30 days, just call up and get it exchanged. The hard part will be getting them to give you the mogul at the $288 everyone is getting versus the $399 actual price. Probably, they will have to reverse out the q completely (including any credits given directly to your account). Then they hopefully can just charge you the $288. They should send you the phone out first, along with a return kit for your q. Once again, just email ecare but be VERY SPECIFIC and make sure everything is written and covered before you do the exchange process. Oh, and of course this will not affect your SERO plan on the line, so no canceling needed, etc. Good Luck and let us know how it goes...

I don't think so. From what I've read, the store reps are even less knowledgeable about SERO then the average CS reps so you'd be better off trying switch via employee accounts over the phone.

BTW- that Family Guy avatar is very disturbing :hee:

Slickdeals.com Official SERO Thread Part III (http://www.slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=526998)

According to the Slickdeals official SERO thread:

"Unlimited Nights & Weekends (either 6 or 7 PM, depending on when you started contract)"

I assume this is a typo, meant to state "either 9 or 7pm" - but just checking in case I'm wrong...

Because...I love to get extras on my SERO, ESPECIALLY ones that don't register as extras (little afraid of those account audits...)

PintaC
07-22-2007, 09:34 AM
Yeah it is a typo, back in the day the SERO plan like most other plans had nights and weekends starting at 9 pm. Now the normal nights and weekends start at 7 pm. Some people have had success at getting their nights and weekends at 6 pm as a free added perk. But that is one of the harder perks to add to a SERO account.

MidwestDrummer

I had my free N&W @ 6 PM added back when SERO N&W still started at 9 PM. Boy, that was well over a year ago.

Same here. Orginally I had a standard plan and 6pm nights.

Then a guy switched me to sero and gave me 7pm nights. Took a couple of emails but got my 6pm nights back.

Just recently got the expiration date removed so now I don't have to call in next year...

Maybe moving the Nights & Weekends to 6pm will be the next "standard" option for Sero plans in the future.

Will Sprint apply the 10% CREDIT UNION discount to my SERO plan?

On May 30th, a Sprint store rep applied the discount to my account. I also received a generic e-mail from Sprint which stated the discount would be applied to my account within 60 days.

Still no discount.

This is my understanding:

SERO is not compatible with discounts, which we all know. If you have an instore rep add it, they send it off to another department, who will always deny it, b/c they know this.

If you email ecare, it can be added instantly, bypassing the discount department which will never add it, which is how most people get it added. If the previous rep put a note on your account saying that they informed you you are not allowed a discount, then the odds of you getting it are probably pretty slim.

There is no problem with me selling my current 6700 on my sero account and buying a a900 off ebay to replace it with right??

Also, I will not have to renew my contract or start over regarding my time to get a $150 rebate on a new phone (i am half way there right now).

PintaC
07-24-2007, 08:07 PM
You should have no problem switching the 6700 for an a900 that you purchased off of ebay. There have been a couple different opinions about the credentials to recieve an upgrade. Technically Sprint says that you have to operate on the same device for that amount of time to recieve the upgrade. But I have also heard other things about this. Hopefully someone who is certain or works for sprint can answer this part of the question.

If you are halfway through your contract (1 year on a 2yr plan) you may well be under the old rules, which state that if you switch your ESN, your upgrade eligibility resets. I would research a little as to when the rules changed, I believe it was October 2006 but I'm not sure.

I set up 3 sero lines this week for myself and my 2 sons. I ordered a muziq for me and 2 katana II for them. One of the katanas arrived today and I am expecting the muziq and other katana tomorrow. I must have gotten the features of the katanaII mixed up with the dlx....the katana II doesn't have music player capabilities. So I was thinking of offering the boys the option of swapping out to M500's as I feel the dlx is way too expensive. If that's what they want to do what is the best/easiest/fastest way of doing that? Over the phone or at the store or....? I'm just not sure how it all works and i know they will be dying waiting as I don't plan on letting them even activate the katana's if we are going to exchange. any suggestions?

I have a question. One of my lines that I share on a regular f/f plan is almost to the end of its 2 year contract. That person(my husband) wants a PDA phone with PV. Currently he has no vision on his phone. I have a good email address for SERO and think I would like to get him a Treo 755p($199 on SERO site) on a new line. I currently have an NVP(loyalty 15% discount) and a corporate discount on the f/f plan. Do you think it is possible for me to get both or even one of those discounts applied to a new SERO account(same name therefore same corp discount at least?)? He doesn't mind changing his phone number at all, so that wouldn't be a problem. Also can the Kellog's rebate be applied for the new phone? I would just add the PV to his current account and use the $150 rebate, but I think it works out better this way, plus he gets his own 500 minutes to blow as we all (4) share 800 min, and I pay the $10 for his add-on phone anyway. So for an extra $20 per month he would get his own 500 min, free PV, free unlimited texts and free roaming(we dont have that). Any comments or questions to this long-winded post would be appreciated.

I'm going to have to direct this to Dan: I'm trying to start a new line of service under SERO. I called corporate telesales and they said I'm not able to due to the fact that I already have an existing account, so I need to start one under a different name, SS #, etc(ex: my husbands name). But in the above post you made on the last page it seems that I would be able to start a new account, using my name. Do you know if that is possible? The reason I would like to use my name is for the corporate discount, however if that is not possible, I would just go with straight SERO and try to get other things added later with ecare. Also would you know if I could use the $100 rebate for the Mogul after using the SERO plan 500 min or would I have to start with a 1250 plan for the rebate? TIA!

i just got my sero phone. There was no plan details included in the box.
the details on the web says it includes the following...

* Adjustable Anytime Minutes
* $30 Minimum Monthly Charge
* AMERICA - ROAMING Included
* Nationwide Long Distance Included
* Unlimited Night & Weekend Mins. Included
* Nights: M-Th 7PM-7AM Wknd: F 7PM-M 7AM
* Unlimited Vision Access
* Unlimited Mobile to Mobile
* Caller ID, Call Waiting
* Three-way Calling
* Voicemail

What i am concerned about is free messaging and power vision. Do these show up on the online plan details or not?

Power Vision will just show up as Unlimited Vision Access as above. The unlimited texting will be on the current usage section if you have it. Send one message, and then check online, it should say Text Messaging Unlimited 1 Unlimited, then you have it. Congrats and enjoy the plan.

Check your account online under usage. It should be listed as unlimited.

I know that when some people who have no credit or bad credit sign up for sprint they have to put down a deposit they get back in a year. When you buy a phone with the sero plan online can they do this still? You complete the transaction online and your card is charged for the phone sooo if they ran your credit and decided they wanted a deposit would they just charge your card again?

I'm looking to switch over to Sprint and I want the SERO $30 plan but at the same time I need to be able to tether my laptop to my phone. Which phone allows tethering without having to pay the $40 Phone As Modem? I want the Sanyo DLX but if I can't tether it I'd spend the extra cash on maybe the HTC Mogul.

Any suggestions as to what phones I can tether (without paying the $40/month)?

My Sanyo 9000 lets me do just that. I suggest looking into that. Great phone also.

I posted a question about SERO here (http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=142431), which got locked (sorry, I didnt realize that SERO was covered in this forum)

User sde780 anwered my post, but I'm still not clear on the motions

I have a 2 line share plan, of which the second line is out of contract, but the first is not. I want to keep both numbers, but switch the first one to a single line plan and move the second one to a SERO plan. I was under the impression that Sprint would not take an existing sprint number and open a SERO account with it. What sde780 said in my original thread made it sound like I could just call them up and ask to switch that line to SERO.

Additionally, theres still 10 months left on the first line. So, will switching it to a single line plan extend my contract? Ideally, I'd like to get both lines to individual SERO plans, but avoid ETF's if possible. But, if sprint extends my contract 2 years, it would be worth it for me to pay the ETF now and switch to SERO, especially with the current free text promo.

Got a question. I signed up my sister for sero on 9/11 over the net and enter her number to port from T-Mobile. She got her new phone today with a temp number. I check the porting status and it says in progress. The thing is is her month renews tomorrow on T-Mobile and she doesnt what to have to pay them for another month of service So should we call T-Mobile and cancel ourself? Or if we call Sprint will that speed things up?

TIA!

If you port out in the middle of a billing cycle, TMO will prorate your bill. No worries. But you do need to call in to initiate the port.

If you want to tether without being noticed by Sprint you're going to have to buy and older phones, most likely off of eBay. Any new Sprint phone you buy will be able to be traced by Sprint if you tether without the PAM add on.

I'm on an old 3rd party employee plan. My company is no longer a Sprint exclusive carrier. I'm going to get on the SERO plan. Should I cancel my old plan first or sign up for SERO then cancel? Or does it even make a difference?

So you are not in a contract right? Is it OK if you don't keep your current phone number? If yes, then it is probably better to sign up for SERO get your phone and then cancel the existing contract. I am not sure if it is that big a deal, but I have heard / read that sometimes if you "cancel" from sprint, then you cannot re-sign-up with them until like 60-90 days or something. But since there is no rule about having multiple independent lines on one account, and if you don't care about keeping your phone number, then you should sign up first for SERO, then cancel. Good Luck and let us know how it goes...

Two questions. 1) My sisters number is in the middle of porting over from T-Mobile, her T-Mobile phone has stoped working and when you call her number it says the number or code you enter is incorrect. It stoped working last night at 11PM. So its been 22 hours and its still not working. How long does it take once this happens? 2) I want to swap phones with her, Can I do it now or should I wait intell her number from T-Mobile has been fully ported over?

TIA!

Does SERO include RL? I've looked everywhere on the website, and it doesn't say it does, but Slickdeals says it does.

Did ReadyLink get replaced by Nextel Walkie-Talkie? I can no longer find ReadyLink listed on the Sprint website, however, I can find the Nextel Walkie-Talkie in the Sprint voice plans.

SERO does have Unlimited Nextel Walkie-Talkie.

^^^ Sprint SERO includes nextel walkie-talkie? So if that's the same as RL, then SERO does include RL?

SERO has unlimited RL back in June 2007. SERO has unlimited Nextel Walkie-Talkie listed on the SERO main webpage in the fine print at the bottom of the page.

The issue is going to be convincing Sprint that RL is still unlimited for SERO since RL is no longer being listed.

See the article below detailing Sprint's plans to phase out RL.

I have searched through this thread and cannot find anything exactly like my questions so here they are. I have had sprint for 6yrs and have a family plan with 2 phones sharing minutes I now only need 1 phone and since my plan keeps getting changed everytime I call customer service I`m deathly afraid to talk to them. I would like to get the SERO plan with 1 phone preferrably the mogul.I tried to talk to *2 cs and was told I needed an employee email and it could only be done thru web I tried but see no way to do on web if you already have a regular acct. I would like to make sure I get the unlimited text and all the rebates allowable on this phone getting the 1250min.plan is what I would like to do. Unfortunately my current plan doesn`t end until 12-1-07 is it worthwhile to get 1 new line under the Sero and eat 2mo service on family plan to avoid ETF to make sure I get the unlimited text and rebates on the mogul. Or should I take my chances and wait till 12-1-07.How is the best way to go about this? Ultimately I just need the 1 line and don`t really care about keeping same phone number.Sorry this got so long winded any help greatly appreciated.

I'd wait till your contract expires, see what retentions can offer you, then compare it to the SERO plans.

You want to call 18007774681 which is Telesales, they'll sign you up. Use the email John.smith@sprint.com or google it, really easy to find.

There are quite a few things to bring down the price of the Mogul, there's the $75 Kellogg's rebate, then there's the URANG $50 invoice credit, ask Telesales to apply while you are placing the order with them. Then there's the referral which is a $25 Visa card.

That adds up to about $150, and if you can get your hands on that $115 service credit that people have recieved in the mail. If you get all those, you get the Mogul for about $35, which is a sweet deal. PM me if you want the Kellogg's rebate form.

Ok, I am having a devil of a time trying to figure out the answer to this question, despite having read all of the SERO fine print.

Does the SERO plan really have unlimited data, or not?

While I'm at it, it says the unlimited text messages expires Nov 4. Does that mean I have until Nov 4 to sign up and get unlimited text, or does it mean that after Nov 4 I'll be charged for text messages?
