Call up customer service & see if they can give that to you considering you just missed out on the promotion right after renewal! & I don't mean @ the MSRP either! $8 is the going rate. $3 is great & free is best!

I think it's great they've lowered their rates for UL texting, and offered a deal for families.

They needed to offer better plans on text messaging. the verizon offerings and the T-Mobile family text plans were killing them on pricing.

But they are being stingy about giving it out for existing folks

Verizon's plans are terrible compared to Sprint's. I actually have a friend that wants to leave T-mobile for Verizon and his sole hold up is the texting plans. $10 with verizon only gets you 500 messages while sprints old plans gave you 1000. Sure verizon gives you verizon to verizon texts for free but for many people that still doesn't balance things.

Now that sprint offers unlimited for $10 they have really put themselves in a great position considering you can't even get unlimited texts with Verizon and Cingular.

i had a great tmo texting plan i only had to pay $10 for unlimited text and IM and pics. that was nice but now i have $8 x2 lines and i get one line free so i don't worry to much about it.
im happy with what i got but for new customers it is a great deal

Because the new Power Pack plans are more expensive than the F&F you are probably on.

Most times Sprint changes plans like this there is always some addon they will most probably lower the cost to the customer on. This makes it look like they are offering a particular addon at a cheaper rate, but if you look at your entire bill if you were to update your plan it is usually the same cost or more expensive than if you just kept the plan you currently have.

However, this is definitely good marketing for new customers that must sign up for current plans in the first place.

The only drawback to the unlimited texting is picture mail is not included.
I don't alot of picture taking but still would be a nice feature to add to the texting.

Yea, it means if you want UNL TXT for 10 call up and switch to a Power Pack Plan and add it...

so with the $20 unlimited power pack plan, is it just unlimited within the family or unlimited to everyone?

b/c if its unlimited to everyone on the plan to any carrier that is sweet.

WOW that is a great deal. i might have to change my plan to that. well depends if i lose my free internet. if i could keep my free power vision then i would seriously think about doing this.

this new plan blows the verizon away. well except verizon includes picmail. this is making it alot easier on me though to get my g/f's family to switch in the years to come since they renew a few months back with vzw.

sprint is definitely getting the stuff together i think now with this change. :)

true but i know that i would still get a power vision plan b/c im on the web all the time on my phone.

this plan wouldnt really help me too much when i looked at what i got now b/c im the only one on the plan that textes alot. my sister does 300 maybe and both my parents dont. but for my g/f's family it would help alot.

That seems to be the norm for Sprint- jump through hoops for new customes and treat existing customers like they are just a nuisance!

the power pack plan is the type of plan. if you check your account online it will tell you what you have. power vision is just the internet on your phone.

550 plan is not offered by UBP, sprint/nextel combined, because 550 isn't offered by nextel, it is CDMA only. So that powerpack plan isn't part of the promotion :\ Sorry.

i have to admit... i wasnt sure about the new plans at first but it is alot easier to sell. less confusing, more compareable to other carriers and the text plan is hella lot betta. i did 6 lines in 4 hours personally.

1 cancel with verizon
4 cancel with cingular
1 changed to her name and loves sprint

all of them got the text plan especially the family plan with 20 bucks is great to tell people about

have a nextel port on the way:)

Yeah, I was in a Sprint store this evening getting my KRZR software updated and there were 6 people who came in to switch to Sprint from Cingular. Are we sure that Sprint is losing subs every quarter? The hour I was in the Sprint store looked like Christmas!!!!!! And besaides that, a lot of people were walking out with new phones too!!!!!! GO SPRINT/NEXTEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BonneMe

IIRC Sprint itself went up, albeit with high churn, but lost alot of Nextel customers.

You have to be on one of the new Power Pack plans to qualify for this promotion. Ten dollars single line, twenty for your whole family plan. I sent out a pic of this last week sometime.

Hey guys, long time stalker - but don't really post. I have the 500 minute F&F SERO plan and was able to add the $10 unlimited SMS through ecare with no problem. Previously had the 300 messages for $5

Ok, I read all the posts.... and maybe its cause its the graveyard shift and I am half asleep?

Right now I have the F&F 900, $15 Internet, and $15 Text messaging..... and then of course $6 insurance for meh Treo......

So.... Texting is now $10? With a Power Vision Plan? Ok, so what is a power vision plan LOL.....

And not trying to be irrelevant, but I read my bill online (well how much I owed anyways) and the bill was like, $11 cheaper than before and I dont know why? Could it be that they upgraded me to something like this?

It a Power Pack Plan not Power Vision Plan. the big difference is there is no F&F. If you go over you pay .45cents/min. the overage rate depends on the rate plan you have. that is the big difference in the rate plan. now you can add unlimited texting for $10 on individual plans or $20 to family plans. this will coverage all the lines on the account.

hope this clears things up for you.

Some people in CS still don't know about this unlimited text plan yet.
I renewed my contract on 2-1 when the unlimited text press release went out. I got 1000 for $10 that day and I tried to switch over to unlimited and the CS rep didn't know what I was talking about even though it was on the front of their own site. I finally got someone who changed it over.

I wanted the F&F plan since I was coming off Free and Clear but Power Pack isn't bad at all.

If you really want to switch over from F&F to PP, do it then ask for a discount :)

Yeah I was looking online and suddenly Fair and Flexible is no longer on there? Dude ***? So yeah, I emailed Ecare about an issue with my bill, and then I asked if I can get unlimited text for $10..... I was looking at my plan online and apparently it go changed for me? It did that before I emailed customer care.....

you can switch plans up to 3 months after signing up for a new one without renewing your contract. i too got a cs that didnt know about the unlimited txt for families for 20. i had to show her where it was on there site. but after that, she signed us up. we are saving over 30 on just the txt alone. we have 5 lines. she also said she would add the 10% loyalty discount too. she also gave me two phones at 150 off and weve only been with sprint 14 months.

where can I find the information now on $20 unlimited text for family for new power pack plan ?? I've been looking thru sprint site for hour but somehow can't find one. My perk from retention is running out ( free unlimited sms for 2 years for all 4 of my lines).

So it might be cheaper to change the plan to powerpack plan and get $20 unl sms on all of the line rather than pay $60 for unl sms on 4 lines.

Is it still available ? or is it a promotional thing that's already expired?? One thing I don't like about power pack is that overage is $0.45 / min. I was saved by F&F quite a few time in the past year so I love my F&F so much. But I will trade that with $40 saving in unl sms.
