SERO Open for a Limited Time
Written by Tristan Kime

For a limited time The Sprint Employee Refferal Offer is now open to users of Buzz About Wireless. This is a great deal for both voice and data plans.
I've included a link to the SERO information page here. The offer is only available in certain markets and there are some rules that apply. You will need my email address, tristan.kime@sprint.com. This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it , to use the program. Enjoy!

Most people are being turned down because they are trying to get an existing line converted to a SERO plan, when in reality only new lines of service are eligible.

I'm current a sprint customer, but my contract has just ended. I have been checking out the Sero treads for couple of days now and I want to sign up. I have tried calling the employee account # and the SERO website phone #, but they are not able to switch me b/c i have sprint service already.
I was wondering if this plan would work, in order to get the SERO plan:
1. Sign up with another carrier (I'm looking into At&t prepaid plan)
2. Port my exist sprint # to At&T
3. Use the service for a week or so, then sign up with the SERO plan
What do you guys think? Will it work or does anyone else have tried different option?
Thanks for the help in advance.

I just got my SERO accounts (yep, 2 of em) on my first try.
Let's see, my story starts a few days ago when the phone I had been using for about 3 years finally kicked it. I went into the Sprint store to get a new one (I was due for the 2 year upgrade). I didn't really like the new phones that much so I decided to just get whatever was free and replace it within 30 days when I figure out what I want. I started looking for phones online and somehow stumbled accross this site. <3 u SU.
At first I tried to get the sales person who helped me the other day to give up her e-mail for the referral (she owes me one, but that's a different story). Anyway, turns out she doesn't have a sprint e-mail but she was trying to get one from her manager/owner or something. Considering the free TXT offer expires in 2 days I didn't really want to wait it out. I needed to call sprint to check an ESN # for a phone anyway.
So I dailed *2 and got a really nice guy named Mike. I checked the ESN # and he asked if there was anything else he could do. I told him I wasn't sure if he could help me or not but that I was interested in changing plans and a friend had told me about the SERO plans. He said he knew all about those plans but he needed a sprint e-mail address to access them. So I gave him the holiday@sprint.com address. Shot in the dark, but what the hell. It worked! I switched from a family plan to two SERO plans and still kept my loyalty discount.
The guy wrapped everything up and asked if I was happy with the service he provided. "Absolutely!", I told him "I'm very happy with Sprint right now."
We've had Sprint since 1999, and thanks to SERO we'll have them for a lifetime.
Thank you SU!!1!!11!eleven

I got 2 lines switched to sero 500 and sero 1250. It took 3 tries but I did it. We got to keep our phone numbers and everything.
I just dialed *2 and asked about sero. The rep told me i need an email address. I gave him openaccess@sprint.com and voila it worked. I got PV, free roaming, mobile 2 mobile, free nights and weekends at 7. I'm so excited. woo hoo

She told me I have to sign a 2 year new agreement. She didnt ask me for the email address. I have also added the unlimited text as part of the promotion.

I'm so sorry if one of the post answers my question. I did check numerous pages but couldn't find any help.
Here it goes... I am currently a Verizon customer and my contract is up July 15th. I will be going to Sprint at this time but am not sure how to get on the SERO plan since it is not done by the internet. I had a friend add my mother and brother back in March and they both got Katana phones and I will too (DLX of course) if I can get on the plan. The problem (I think) is that my friend no longer works for Sprint.
Can I still get on this plan?
thanks all :1zhelp:

I don't see why not. There's still lots of people using the promotional emails: holiday@sprint.com, openaccess@sprint.com. Just tell them you want to switch but you want the SERO plan and they'll probably give it to you. Try calling the employee accounts and tell them your family have the plan and you would like it too.

I got the number from the FAQ pages, so don't blame me if it's wrong =P.

Um not for me. I tried for three hours today with my friend who has good payment history, no perks and has been here for three years and nothing! All I got told was that I needed to be a new customer. I know they don't HAVE to do it but it looks like its another company for him cause he actually needs a new plan.

Tell your friend to port his number to a pre-paid service, then port it back to Sprint as a new SERO line.

It sucks, but you could try calling back and trying at another time.
For me, it was persistence and politeness that worked. Off course if what Midwest is saying is true you may be on a new system that won't allow switch to a sero- but it's worth a try since your friend still has 6 months left.
Good luck.

Well it seems like Ecare has come through again. One email mentioning his history and that he has no other perks got the job done. :headbang2 And to think I didn't have to lie or anything! Successful w/ 1 call!!
I called lastnight at 10:30pm est and got a foreign CSR, I straight up asked her if i could be put on the SERO plan, she put me on hold for 10 minutes. This is where i started to get nervous, but when she came back she gave me some banter about going to the website. So I explained that I want it on my 2 existing lines, and the website has me call a phone number, and is only for new activations/lines. So she put me on hold again for another 5 minutes. She comes back and asks me if i have any idea on what plan i wanted, i reply that i would like the SERO 500 on both lines. She tells me that it will take her a few minutes to add them to my account and shes going to put me on hold again. 5 minutes later she tells me that i will be enjoying my new SERO plan starting July 4th on both lines.

I added a SERO line onto my existing plan, no problem. Called the number on the SERO site, told the guy which plan and phone I wanted, gave him the e-mail "openaccess@sprint.com" (which he didn't even ask for until I mentioned my friend at Sprint referred me), and I was good to go. Got myself hooked up with the Moto Q for $99, too. :D
Also, thought you guys would be interested in this; I asked the guy on the phone if I had missed out on the unlimited texting, but he told me they had extended it to July 21st. Just happens to be my birthday; early birthday present, amirite? :D :D :D

Newbie here, what's up!! :headbang2
However long time reader of the forums...
I recently just got a new line to my account, SERO 500 thanks to you guys!
My question is.. while asking about putting another line on my account on the vacation plan for I think like $5.00 a month, the rep told me, when I came back to take it off the vacation plan, I would have to sign up for a new 2 year contract. As I hung up, I began to think, if I put it on the vacation plan, and came back a month later to take it off, and sign up for a new plan.. do you think I could sign up for the SERO plan?
He made it seem like I would be coming back as a new costumer, if this is the case... then I think I could go on a vacation for like 3 days lol.

Dear xxx
Thank you for contacting Sprint. My name is Richard and I will be happy to assist you regarding your questions about how to add the SERO plan to your services.
---->SPRINT EMPLOYEE REFERRAL OPTION<----
If you were interested in changing to the SERO plan you would have to visit www.sprint.com/SERO. From there you would have to activate a new service with new phone number and cancel your existing line of service. Existing customers unfortunately can not change to the SERO plan without starting a new line of service with a new PCS number.
Since you would be starting a new service with us, you would have to purchase a new phone at this time, the online process will allow you to view, select and order the phone of your choice to use with your new SERO plan.
My Response
Since I'm well within my first month of service with Nextel is there any way you could switch me over to a Sero Plan?

Dear xxx,
Thank you for contacting Sprint. My name is Richard and I will be happy to assist you regarding your request to have a SERO plan added to your services.
---->UNABLE TO CHANGE<----
I have reviewed your account and do regret that in order to change to the SERO plan, you would have to cancel this line of service and then follow the instructions found at www.spint.com/sero to activate your new line of service. My system will not allow me to make this change.
I am sorry for any frustration or confusion that this matter has caused you and do regret that I am unable to resolve this matter for you at this time.
ME:
It's No problem so since I'm within the first month of my contract I would just call in to retentions & cancel my service and get refunded for my phone purchase, and then I can just join sero correct?
HIM:
Dear xxx
Thank you for contacting Sprint. My name is Richard and I will be happy to assist you regarding your request to start service with the SERO plan.
---->SERO PLAN<----
You are correct, since you are within your first 30 days you would be able to contract our account services team and request that they cancel your account so you can start service with the SERO plan. Once they have confirmed that your services are cancelled you would then be able to visit wwww.sprint.com/SERO and sign up for your new SERO service.
If you have any further questions or concerns today, please feel free to respond to this e-mail. I would be happy to continue serving you.
It has been my pleasure working with you to resolve your issue and I look forward to working with you in the future! Have a great day, thank you for choosing Sprint as your wireless provider.

you wont have any problems adding a sero plan to a new 2nd line...assuming your account is eligible to add another line. now sure about the NVP discount. before activating line 2, i had a 10% monthly discount and 15% loyalty discount on line 1. just checked my new bill, and the discounts were only applied to line 1. but im okay with that. cant say for sure if an NVP discount would work differently though.

To my understanding, you have to call the number listed on the Sero website. Just use savings@sprint.com to get access, then look for the number to call.
You can add existing lines to your Sero account, but you can't convert an existing to a Sero. At least that's the way it was explained to me by my sales rep.

Technically that's how it's supposed to be done, but if your account hasn't been converted from P2K to Ensemble, then it's possible. From what I've heard, after your account is switched over to the new billing system (Ensemble), it's pretty much impossible to convert an existing line to a SERO plan, even if you find a rep who's willing to do so.

No, you cannot add lines to a SERO plan. You can activate a new line, but it will remain independent of the first line. SERO plans are single line plans only.

I opened a new account on SERO, and told my sales rep that I had two existing lines that I wanted to bring over later, and she said she would note in on my plan and that I could convert them over at any time.
Now, whether they will be three plans or one plan with three lines is irrelevant as I know that I will be required to renew the contract with each one (but I can keep the existing numbers per the sales rep). If I'm wrong, then she's wrong.

What I meant, is that each line could be on a SERO plan, but they would be separate plans (i.e. 3 separate $29.99 plan charges). All 3 plans would be independent of one another. They won't share minutes.

How do I know which billing system I'm on? I've had my account since the late 90's and still get paper statements...

Semantics.
Well not exactly, it would actually make a difference. The reason being, one way, you have two phones sharing a line, and minutes. Also, you only pay a tax on your main plan, plus the small amount of taxes on your add-a-phone. With SERO, it will be $30 + $30 + tax on 1st SERO plan + tax on 2nd SERO plan. It comes out a bit higher I believe because of the two independent plans.

You would just have to call in and find out. The difference is which internal billing software is used to access your account. They will have to transfer you if you get someone on the wrong billing platform.

I am trying to buy the Mogul from Sprint via telesales and all they are telling me is "We need to charge you $399 and we will return $111 back to you." Anyone know how to just get the $289 without that as I am going to pay by credit card and the interest rates are high and I don't want credit to my account.

Go to http://www.sprint.com/sero and use the email tristan.kime@sprint.com. Your order should go through without any problem. If you use holiday@sprint.com or openaccess@sprint.com, you will get error message.

Not unless your buying it while activating a new line of service. Still, that's actually a really good deal on the phone. Also, how do you pay your bill every month? Debit? Well, whatever it is, use that to cover the extra $111 on your credit card. It'll even itself out, because that $111 credit on your account should pay your bill for at least 2 months, if not more.

ok so my mom and I have a plan with my dad. His contract is over and mine isn't (got my phone in november '06) and I want to get a Mogul w/ SERO but I want to keep my number. OK, So here's my idea (tell me if it will work or if theres a better way)...My dad needs a new phone (broken screen, but still works) and I want to give him mine. So since his contract is over, can he get my line but keep his number and he cancel his line. Then I get a SERO plan with a Mogul?

Hi all. I was hoping to do a SERO upgrade, but have never used it. I understand the basics and have the necessary info, but wonder if there's a post/thread that walks you through the steps on the SERO website? I've searched and read everything on the SERO plan here, but maybe I overlooked it. I've looked at the SERO site and it seems straightforward.
Apparently, my current Sprint plan expired in March 2007. That's what my account page says anyway. I thought it expired in October 2007, which is when I'm eligible for the $150 phone upgrade rebate. So I'm not sure if I'm actually still "in plan" or not.
So, if I try to get a SERO plan through the website, I assume I can keep my current phone number (only a single line on my account) and not have to get a new number, get a new phone and commit to the new plan. I just don't want to bork things and end up with a new plan, a different phone number, or no new phone.
Thanks for any advice or suggestions.

Hmm I appreciate your help I had an idea tho I wonder if I can run it by u guys.
Since I have a family plan I was going to split the accounts and make them separate accounts anyway which would make them new contract anyway. So if I did do this it would make them new contracts right?
If so would that make me eligible for the SERO and if so what could I do to make it so I can get the SERO account then but keeping my existing number.
Any help would be appreciated Thank You.

you wouldnt be eligible for sero just by going from a family plan to individual plans. technically, sero is only available to new customers or existing customers adding a new line. not saying its impossible. i was able to change an existing line to sero in jan '06 because i was out of contract. i didnt threaten to cancel or anything...i just asked if it was possible to get the plan.

I have a question...but ill explain the situation first...
About two weeks ago i got my moto q (love it) with a sero plan...now when i set it up the rep said i had my 30 days right to cancel and what not...so im like ok, i know i wont cancel but thanks for the info. Well a couple of my friends have been asking me about the plan and stuff so i referred them to the website.. Well sprint went and changed the sero site, apparently you can sign up online again... Now i originally wanted a mogul but they only offered the 6700 so i went with the q. Well now the mogul is online with the sero pricing of 288. and im like :scare: because i would have waited the extra two weeks to get the phone had i known...
so now i want to know could i return the phone and keep the plan and get the mogul?? or would i have to cancel the line or whatever (not willing to go thru all that just to get the phone). i got the q for 79.99 and they charged me 199.99 so i have a credit of 120 and i dont want sprint to give me a headache trying to take that off of there since they love to screw up simple stuff...any help or advise??? again i have no problem keeping the q, i just wanted the mogul in the first place... :fingers:

So after we successfully got a SERO plan for my boyfriend through retentions (as posted earlier in this thread) they sent him a nice letter today to confirm the changes that they've made on the account.
This is his SERO plan, according to the letter:
Fair & Flexible Plan for $49.99
Roaming Included
M2M
Free Power Vision
Unlimited Texts for $8/month
Nights @ 7PM for $5/month
Wait a minute?! I thought F&F plans didn't even exist anymore! How did they managed to mess up SERO plan and give him a plan that's no longer offered!? Not to mention that it doesn't state how many minutes are in this "special" plan of his. I can't wait to get my letter to see what my SERO plan looks like!

sero is actually a fair & flexible plan. maybe youre thinking of free & clear...or whatever its called. this is what it says under plans details on sprint.com for one of my sero lines...
Sprint Fair & Flexible Plan
* Adjustable Anytime Minutes
* $30 Minimum Monthly Charge
* AMERICA - ROAMING Included
* Nationwide Long Distance Included
* Unlimited Night & Weekend Mins. Included
* Nights: M-Th 7PM-7AM Wknd: F 7PM-M 7AM
* Unlimited Vision Access
* Unlimited Mobile to Mobile
* Caller ID, Call Waiting
* Three-way Calling
* Voicemail
i dont think any of the sero plan details show the number of minutes.

It says specifically in your bill how many minutes are included and what the rates are for the higher minute tiers, if you just recently switched you'll have to wait until the next billing cycle to see it laid out on paper.

That's not a correct sero plan.
7pm nights is standard, you shouldn't have to pay extra. They are using the wrong code.
unlimited texting (from what I've read here) is still available for free.
I would also confirm that pictue mail is active.
The $49.99 plan includes 1250 minutes.
It should look like this online:
Sprint Fair & Flexible Plan
Adjustable Anytime Minutes
$49.99 Minimum Monthly Charge
AMERICA - ROAMING Included
Nationwide Long Distance Included
Unlimited Night & Weekend Mins. Included
Nights: M-Th 7PM-7AM Wknd: F 7PM-M 7AM
Unlimited Vision Access
Unlimited Mobile to Mobile
Caller ID, Call Waiting
Three-way Calling
Voicemail
If it's active online, then go and choose the option to "change plans". You will be directed to aanother page that has the details of your plan, including minutes included, type of phone, and advantage agreement expiration date.
Thanks for the info everyone. i would have never known sero was essentially a fair and flexible plan. we just called and they explained that to me but i only believed them because i heard here first! after having such a great free and clear plan for six years straight im still scared the switches will screw us over!

I just got myself switched this weekend. There was a mistake on my bill for about $20 bucks. I told them forget the overage on my bill (since I paid it anyway) and to just switch me to the SERO plan. I ended up with 1250 Minute Plan, 7pm nights and weekends and unlimited text. I tried to get my gov. discount added to the plan but wasn't able to.
If you find something wrong with your bill you can always take that approach. Now just to get 6pm nights and weekends, first minute free or phone as a modem.
Edit: Wow first post and I joined two years ago. :-p

Yeah I just had a problem with my bill this month its been like every month since I had Sprint but whatever they had charged me twice for the same plan which was 69.99 they took it off after speaking with a super. But did you just call customer service or retentions to get that done for you?

I just got a new number and skipped the hassle. The rep gave me step by step instructions to port over my number, but I decided it wasn't worht the bother anyway.
No tricks, no "borrowed" email addresses. I just called up and he signed me up.
Now....here's the fun part. Before I signed up with SERO (two phones), I had a bill of $80 coming. After the switch, I had a credit of $110 (from phones I guess, M510 and 3200). When I checked my account last night, it said I had a current bill of $355!! What the hell?? I was out of my contract when I switched so I don't know exactly where they're getting this dollar amount from. Hopefully my bill will be in the mail soon so I can do battle. Wowsers!!
Time to ask for the $50 credit and closing tool maybe???

I received my phone yesterday, but they failed to add unlimited text messaging to my account.... plus there was no credit for the sero website price difference.
A quick email to e-care fixed the issue with SMS, but they told me they were unable to credit the price difference because it was a web-only price. I told them the sales rep failed to mention that little catch when she sold me the phone with assurances of an account credit.
I love my Mogul so far, but if this isn't resolved before my trial is up the phone is going back.

Yeah. I had the overages applied because of an error with Sprint to Home. They were still charging me for my home calls. When I talked to a rep they offered me $10 credit and 100 free minutes (I had 22 bucks in overage charges) and I declined politely asking to instead be transfered to a SERO plan. After being placed on hold for a bit the guy came back and said O.K. and that was that, except no text messaging. Got that today. I think the best trick is just to be polite and friendly.

I had to call customer service and tell them that they forgot to add unlimited text and they fixed it right away. I wouldn't take for granted that unlimited text was automatically added when anyone opens a new sero line.
By the way, the sero homepage has been updated and it now says unlimited text messaging on all plans through september.

great success! lol
I called sprint on monday (july 9th), ordered the 500 plan and an upstage phone. Tuesday I called CS and got my tracking number (about an hour on hold), the phone came next day air on wed.
Everything went smoothly except they did not add unlimited txting so I called ecare earlier today. I was on hold for almost 2 hours and a nice rep answered, asked for my number, the prob and then said "no problem I'll add it right now, any other questions"? It was literally less than a 2 min conversation.
I love sprint :clap:

Anyone purchased SERO through the website lately? Curious to know if it went smooth. I just did it online and added SERO to my current account. Just hoping everything goes smooth. I do have to call and get the free unlimited text though as it is not an option on the site. So got my Mogul for $304.02, used the $50 promo code for invoice credit on first bill. So after I sell my Q for roughly $200, pay my current lines ETF of $150 do my referral from my wifes account and get that $50, ill have paid around $98 for my Mogul, of course I will have to pay my last month bill on current line but that will be made up in the $25 a month ill save from switching to SERO.
Damn I LOVE this site!

Congrats. Just one quick question, and I know it sounds a little weird, but does your plan details screen online actually show what you just posted above? Mainly, does it actually say Unlimited TEXTing in the plan details??? Thanks.

No. They added it on after the initial switch. I typed that myself

Just FYI for those looking at SERO online. I placed an order last night and it went smooth. I did have to call this morning because on my printed receipt my address didnt have my house letter. Without that letter the Fedex or UPS guy would never get the phone to the correct house. Anyways, The number on the site, if you follow the prompt, #1 does not go through, sometimes it will say down for techinical reasons or it will just hang up on you. I ended up pressing 2 instead for accessories, I was on hold for 55 minutes but the girl did get me straightened out. So to those looking to order SERO in the next few days just be aware of this, and the wait time. Of course it was friday at 3 their time im sure. Living in Hawaii sucks at times, have to get up so early just to call a call center on east coast time usually!

Hey all,
I was wondering about adding a few sero lines for my neices. Currently I have both a 15% loyalty and 10% credit union discount. Will either of these mess up or will they apply to the new lines? I have 6 other lines.
Thanks!

I called today and order two additional SERO lines on my account. It's funny how many conflicting reports there are here, but I tried to order the phones thru the SERO website and kept getting errors at the last step in the order. Tried on three different computers and two browsers with the same result. The sales rep I spoke with told me it was setup so you HAD to order over the phone. Of course, this was the exact opposite that I was told last week when I ordered my Mogul.....
But anyway, my order of two RAZR'z went thru went out a hitch. I didn't even have to ask for the unlimited texting, and the price I got was the exact same as listed on the SERO website ($30).
And the best part was I only had to hold about 30 seconds!

you are obviously trying to switch your current plan to SERO? I would say you have about a 50/50 chance, but truthful the luck I had over this week trying to get a Q exchanged for a Mogul and mentioning the Iphone did not seem to phase anyone at Sprint. I really don't think Sprint is to concerned with long standing customers right now, I think they are looking for new ones with the "sprint ahead" slogan. Never hurts to try.

Ok, some weirdness going on.
I applied for two lines yesterday, one at a time. No problem. I tried to get the remaining two lines I wanted today. I tried them together and it failed. So, I called it in. I was told I didn't qualify because I was on the Credit Union program.
But in the end the web site let me add two more lines, though individually. Now this was recommended by the telesales gal, but at the same time she commented I might have a problem activating them when I get them.
Ok, wait, problems activating?????? Does anyone think I will? I should have them on tuesday or wednesday. These are my first SERO lines, but I have 6 other lines of service with Sprint.
Oh, and she mentioned that the unlimited texting was still around, but a tele-sales exclusive.

I don't really see how you could have a problem activating them if the order goes through and they send them out to you. Also the Unlimited text tele-sales exclusive is a croc because it is on the website, yes you do have to call in to get it applied but everyone that has done this has been able to and had no problems doing it. I ordered online and did the unlt txt for $10 and I fully plan on calling in and getting them for free once I receive my phone. Its on the SITE it has to be honored, I mean I know Sprint is doing some shady business lately but come on.

I have only personally tried to call in once to get the plan, and the tech I talked to had no idea what the plan even was. But I just wanted to say that it LOOKS like the holiday@sprint.com still works as well, as it gave a $20 discount on the Mogul, plus the Promo code for -$50 works as well. So if I were to go through with it on a new plan, (current 2-Year expires in December), I could get it for $288 @ monthly rate of $55. Not bad at all. I'm thinking of going through with it and possibly porting my Sprint number over or swapping it somehow with my Nextel line.

I just went in on the SERO plan for 500 minutes a few days ago. Strangely enough there was no area for me to input coupon codes like "SAVE50" or "POWERUP," so I e-mailed e-Care and was denied the $50 savings. Have these deals expired?
Also, I hear you can get a $25 reward card if you do the #REF call and type in a fellow Sprint member's number. Problem is, I don't know anyone who uses Sprint. Anyone willing me to help me out with this one? You would get the same $25 reward.
EDIT: PM me for the referral info. Thanks!

I guess I got lucky. I e-mailed ecare regarding the save50 about 2 weeks ago and I was successful in getting it applied. I was told it should be in my next invoice, but I saved a copy of the email just in case. Try the code "50YDC". It works on the sero website too. It gives a $50 invoice credit.

Yes, the promo 50YDC does work on the SERO site, I used it on thursday when I ordered my Mogul. Also I have read around that if you do not get it applied at time of check out you should easily be able to get a rep to add it for you. You have to call in and have Unltd. I have been out of contract with Sprint for almost 3 years now, and yesterday I tried to get a new SERO plan. I want to keep my current number, and of course they told me I cannot do it, I have to get a new number. I will probably try one more time Monday, but I am pretty much hopeless, I think.
I am planning to do the following, and would like to have you guys opinions.
Get a GoPhone from Cingular with a $25 card, port my number to Cingular. Once this is done, I open a SERO account, and port back my number to Sprint.
I read that some people did it. Is that a complicated process? any risk? or it should go smoothly?
How long does it usually take to port a number? and how long after the first transfer, can you initiate the second one?
I really appreciate your feedback on this.

I did an order through the SERO site last night. I was doing it on my mom's computer and she uses Firefox...first it wouldn't work in that, it would freeze when I tried to checkout on that little graphic where it "customizes your cart" or something like that.
Then I switched to IE and got through the checkout steps, clicked to place the order, and after seeing the "processing" pop up window it came back to the same screen I was just on. There was no red line at the top saying I'd forgotten to input something, and no "order complete" so I had no idea if it had gone through. We called the credit card company and it hadn't shown up yet, so clicked Place Order again (really wanted to get this in last night cause of the rebate deadline) and then did get the screen with a receipt. I told my dad to open his e-mail and print the receipt with timestamp showing the 14th still for the rebate, and there were two order confirmation e-mails. Same order number in the subject line, but when you actually open them there's a different confirmation number. I had my mom call the CC company again and told her to actually talk to a live person because those automated transaction listings probably aren't real time and sure enough, it went through twice. The odd thing is it went through once with the +tax price, and again with the no tax price but then another charge of $1.
I tried to call the number on the SERO site to get them to cancel the 2nd order, went through what seemed like 100 menu options and listened to two minutes of their awful hold music before they tell me they are closed for the day! Couldn't they have done that at the beginning?!
Then the people we talked to today said we had to call someone else that's only open M-F. How much you want to bet we get two phones in the mail, even if we get through tomorrow and they claim to put it the cancellation through? :rolleyes:

I had a sprint family plan with two lines that I wanted to convert to two sero500 lines. I tried multiple times and got shot down. I didn't mind getting a new number but my gf wanted to keep the same number. Well, I went ahead and ordered the two Sero500 lines, and got two new numbers. Then I purchased an "unactivated t-mobile prepaid kit" for like $8 bucks on ebay. Make sure it is unactivated.
**Remember that you can port a number on top of the sprint number at anytime. It doesn't have to be at the time you place the order for the line. Treat the sprint number given to you as your temporary phone number.
Anyway, I just called t-mobile. Told them I wanted to port my old sprint number to the prepaid service. I gave them all the info that came with the kit. The port took a few hours. Then I immediately called Sprint and ported my t-mobile number on top of the sero 500 temp number. It was not difficult at all.

So as I mentioned earlier in this thread, when we called last month to get my boyfriend the SERO 1250 plan, they mentioned that he couldn't get unlimited texts; it was because the promo for free U/L texts expired before his billing cycle would begin, even if we called before the promo expired. They finally agreed to offer 500 texts for free. Now that his plan has started, his plan overview shows the 500 texts, but his current usage shows unlimited texts? Which of these can we expect to be the true showing of how many texts he has with his new SERO plan?

Well, it looks like my Nextel line is eligable for an upgrade, even though my contract expires in November (or at least that's the month I remember when I called them late last year). I can get the Mogul at least for $399 + $100 rebate. But I guess I'll have to figure out how I'll get it on the SERO plan since it won't be a "brand new" contract. Also, the promo code 50YDC doesn't work for this method either. :(

Wow, I just spent a good hour talking to three reps. The first lady I talked with was foreign, but she was very nice, and I was actually about to get EVERYTHING I had asked for...
Switch Nextel to Sprint
Get Mogul
Get SERO
She even spoke with her Supervisor about placing me on SERO and all was good! I asked one final question, and she had to put me on hold again. Five minutes later, I got dropped back into the call queue! :( Then that call dropped from their end. I had to call four times to get back into the Queue and actually speak with someone, and the next two agents wouldn't help me with anything. Weren't even sure if I could get all the discounts if I migrate from Nextel to Sprint! :(
So now I'm going through the Sprint.Com/Sero again, and tried to input my Sprint number, and its actually allowing me to order the Mogul on my Sprint number! (Although my Sprint line isn't eligible until next year) All the discounts took, and show I can get it for $238 on a new 2-year contract. The ONLY thing that's wrong is it shows...
You have selected to bring the following number(s) to Nextel. During checkout, you will assign each number to an individual phone.
1. (*0*) ***-0794 SPRINT
Why is it going to Nextel if its a Sprint only phone? And would this actually be a problem getting the phone activated?

Chances are they told you incorrectly about not being able to get unlimited texting. Now that they have updates the SERO site and are giving unlimited text added until 9/26, they must have added to his SERO plan when it took effect. My guess is the rep that you convinced to add the 500 texts onto, added the 500 free text promo code. Then the SERO Unlimited SMS $0 code got added onto the plan. In essence it is overriding the 500 texts. I assume you don't see 500 and unlimited in two separate areas on the current usage section right? If you just see unlimited you should be good to go. For example, one of my friends had this 50 free SMS promo that was from a long time ago, then he got them to add 500 free text messages and so it would show 550 in his current usage, because he just got both codes. Another friend of mine also had the 50 free SMS promo, but then got unlimited txt added, and then on his usage it showed unlimited. However, if the unlimited code were to ever be removed, the 500 txt msgs would still be there, so it is basically one code on top of the other, and it is giving you whichever is greater (in this case unlimited is greater than 500 :) ). You should be good to go, but I guess you could email ecare if you really want to check for 100% sure, but I am pretty sure this is what happened. Hope that helps.

Hey - thanks so much! I think (and hope) that you are right. It shows unlimited in the current usage, and only unlimited. It only states 500 in the plan overview section, so hopefully the unlimited is correctly overriding the 500. We'll definitely find out at the end of the month! Thanks again!

Anybody notice the number to check on shipping status leads to a technical dificulty that disallows any person to speak to you? Just wondering on when I would recieve my phones, since I ordered 4 lines on SERO, and last time I ordered phones I had them the next business day...
Impatient:)

I also tried to reach their Order sales support, and it takes forever to reach them >40min. Then the person gave me a 'more' direct number. I did not try it yet: 800-203-0952

Well, I was told that their system is not accepting SERO plans, and they have added me to a manual activation que. The lady was real nice, and asked me to call back on thursday to get a status.

I ordered on thursday. I just checked the order status page and I now have a tracking number, it appears it might just be a sprint tracking number, not a mail tracking number though because it doesnt work on fedex, or ups. I am hoping maybe its just not fully got into their system yet.

Thanks for the info, thats what I was hoping for. No telling when Ill actually get it living in Hawaii, two days still takes a week it seems sometimes. I couldn't quite remember who they used for shipping, I thought maybe my wifes came from FEDEX in March, but that was when SERO was still under Inphonic.

When I purchased my SERO plan, I received the sprint order #, but the # that didn't work in the sprint system. Looking at the package I received, the number was BN followed by 5 numbers. Turns out the total order number was actually BN#####001. I ended up not liking my phone and returned it within the 30 days. They gave me a new BN number that also only had 5 numbers. This time I was smart enough to try to track the BN##### and BN#####001. By my luck both numbers didn't track in the system. I did receive both orders timely, but the tracking numbers didn't work.

Ok. This is weird. I now have tracking numbers for two phones. But I ordered SERO, and this is the plan listed on Sprint.com with the new phones (with a number in a different area code than I ordered):
Sprint Fair & Flexible Plan
Adjustable Anytime Minutes
$30 Minimum Monthly Charge
AMERICA - ROAMING Included
Nationwide Long Distance Included
Unlimited Night & Weekend Mins. Included
Nights: M-Th 7PM-7AM Wknd: F 7PM-M 7AM
Unlimited Vision Access
Unlimited Mobile to Mobile
Caller ID, Call Waiting
Three-way Calling
Voicemail
Did they give me a plan without ANY minutes??? And being the phone is power vision... will it have vision and picturemail?
Weird.

No all SERO plans will list sprint fair and flexible plan under plan details instead of how many minutes you have. Your bill itself will tell you how many minutes you have and how the rate adjusts when you go over your minutes.
To view, go to Bill printing & archive and then print any of your bills.

Will they list picture mail or the correct type of vission?

Will they list picture mail or the correct type of vission?
NO, that is exactly what it will say. As for Vision and Picture mail, you can email ecare and just ask them to give you the full set of details for your plan and then you will know. Your plan details page is exactly the same as mine and many others here, who all have Power Vision and Picture/Video Mail included, even though it is not listed. Hope that helped.

I tried calling before I emailed e-care and the email says that I already switched but I dont know what happened. I emailed e-care few weeks ago and recieved this email and wanted to make sure that my plan has changed and it has so here is the email.
Dear XXXXXXXXXXX,
Thank you for contacting Sprint. I would like to first apologize for the delay in our reply, we are experiencing high email volume at this time and appreciate your patience.
I noticed that the service plan on line XXX-XXX-XXXX and XXX-XXX-XXXX has already been changed to SERO plan effective July 18, 2007 which is first day of next bill cycle.
Unlimited text messages:
*********************
Further, the current SERO plan now includes Unlimited text messaging. I noticed that 500 free text messages are included on both lines. Effective July 03, 2007 I have added Free unlimited Text Messaging pack on your account. Going forward, you will be able to send/receive unlimited text messages for free each month.
Your satisfaction is important to us. Please let me know if you need any further assistance in this regard. Thank you for emailing us. Have a great day!

afbond03,
Sign-on to the Sprint website. If your new plan is showing, click on Plan Details. Below the SERO line items is another box called Current Plan. Your TEP should show-up in that box. Otherwise it will show-up in "Upgrade Your Plan".
Now click on Current Usage. If you received the Unlimited texts, it will only show-up in the Current Usage.
