I have been with sprint for about 7 years and my current contract doesnt expire until May 2008. I am really impatient and wanted the sero plan now. The first email I received about inquiring about transfering my account to sero is below.

Dear ,

Thank you for contacting Sprint. I understand you wish to add SERO plan to your account.

Yes, you can definitely have SERO plan by opening a new account.

We have launched the Sprint Employee Referral Offer, also known as SERO.

Existing customers that want to switch to this plan are required to receive a new phone number. Early Termination Fees apply if they are within the contract period.

All orders must be activated through the InPhonic web site which is located at the following URL:

Select handsets will be offered through the web site.

Inphonic will validate if the order meets the program requirements and credit guidelines.

The Activation Fee will be automatically applied by back-end systems and will appear directly under the activation fee on the bill.

Thank you for contacting us, and we look forward to serving you.

I have no problem with getting a new number since I still have a California number and I am currently living in Louisiana so I emailed the rep back and asked if there was a possibility of having the EFT reduced, he responded with:

Dear ,

Thank you for replying.

Considering your loyalty, I have gone ahead and decided to waive the whole ETF of yours that you will be charged. To help you out, I have put high priority supporting notes on the account, so that you will not be charged ETF when you cancel your present phone number.

The note will serve as a reference for this, please give the reference of the note when you wish to cancel your services.

Thank you for contacting us, and we look forward to serving you.

So I ordered sero with the 50YDC code that gives $50 invoice credit. I received an email today saying:

Dear ,

Thank you for choosing Sprint products.

To complete your order, we will need to gather additional information from you. Please call our Sprint Support Team toll free at 1-866-860-6241 at your earliest convenience. We are prepared to offer you additional savings through a $25 invoice credit if you call us to complete your order within the next 5 calendar days (based on the sent date on this email). If we do not hear back from you within the next 5 days, your order will be automatically cancelled.

So now that I called I have an additional $25 invoice credit.

Only bummer is shipping will be 3-5 days they said they couldnt override the system....

I recently signed my mother-in-law up for three lines on the SERO website using the good ole' John.Smith@sprint.com email. Phones came in really quickly considering the holidays, but when they came in they had the wrong area codes. Most likely my fault since I'm the one that ordered them. Well when she called to get them changed, she was told by the rep that she had the 300 min free incoming plan on all three phones. Well I figured something like this might happen, but there was no call telling her this would happen or anything so I was a little upset that it was done without her knowledge.

After an hour or so on the phone, I finally got to Retentions since they were supposedly the only ones that can change SERO plans on existing accounts. I got this great, knowledgeable guy from the Albuquerque call center. He was looking everything over and the bill was supposed to be $111 before taxes a month with the three SERO's with TEP. He made up a 1400 Power Pack plan with 100 bonus mins, gave free SMS and PV, FIMF and all the normal 7pm, roaming, LD and what not instead.

Comes out to 96 and change before taxes and since it's a normal plan, unlike SERO, she can still put on her 15% NVD from where she works and it'll bring it down to around 82 or so before taxes. Best thing is that he didn't put an expiration date for all of the perks, so after two years, they'll still be there!!

Now instead of the call for more information error, it has:

Status: CFO_REVIEW

Is this good or bad?

My order sat in that status for about a day. Eventually got shipped and I got my phone and plan with no issues.

Cool! Just a tad worried since I already have an existing account, and because I was dumb and used the savings@sprintemi.com address instead of the @sprint.com one I have. Both of those combined seem to be a nightmare from what I've read..

Well I finally got my phone shipped but when I logged onto my account I saw that they have given me the basic Sprint 200 plan not the SERO plan. What the!!! Well I guess I have a date with customer care once my phone arrives. Did other people get put on the wrong plan as well even though they ordered through the SERO page?

Yes when I ordered sero online for my wife, they had her on the 200 plan. I called cs and after a few people got a retentions sup and it was fixed with in mins.

Okay.. Sprint's system is crack headed :)

Called just to get a status. They said everything was being processed, and validated my address and my order.

Within 15 minutes of calling them, the order page went back to the call them to provide more information message.. Felt like crying.

Went ahead and checked my email, and got:

Your equipment has shipped and will arrive within 1 to 2 business days.

woohoo!

And now the order status page is back to:

Status: ENSEMBLE_ACTIVATION_ERROR

again. No tracking info. What is the deal with that thing? :)

Hi

I went on the SERO site and I entered my existing (regular family plan) Sprint cell phone number to see if it would allow me to port it. While I expected to be rejected, it said congrats, the line was eligible. I went ahead and successfully entered my two other phone numbers...Before I processed my orders, I wrote to ecare and they said that I would not be charged an ETF on the regular account if I ported to SERO.

So I ordered three new phones (two centros and a rumor for $250 total) and I got three of the SERO 500 packages. That coupled with one existing SERO plans gives me 2000 minutes, unlimited data and text messaging for $120/month which is a good deal in my opinion though I would love to maintain my fed govt discount

I halfway expect however to get rejected when I activate and ask to confirm that I will not be charged with ETF on my current account. Will wait and see - hope my phones arrive in a couple of days

I was going to use Tristan's, but since everybody else was using savings, I did too. So yes, just the sprintemi one.

Although I guess I'll find out when I activate the phones if they really gave me SERO or not. I better, since that's what the order form says!

I signed up for 2 SERO 1250 plans and a data card plan. It's to replace my F&F 2500 & data card plan.

Anybody know if they'll make me pay the full balance when I call to cancel the old account, or will they just send me a bill?

I did the same thing but chickened out before checkout. I dont want 2 bills for the same phone. all I want is the 1250 powervision plan. I wrote ecare and told them that the system allows me to get this plan. the credit check should be a breeze if thats the next step. I just want to know that there wont be a problem if I go back today and get this plan on the sero site even though I have a plan that expires in 1/09.

Just ask if you can be switched to a SERO plan and be willing to sign a new contract.

Or if you are in P2K, just cancel that account.

And sign up in the Ensemble billing system.

Dang! So I ordered a new line on the 30th, everything went through, in less than 24hours I got ASI_Fullfillment and a tracking number. Great right? Well then yesterday there was one charge on my card, now today there are two. :(

One from 'Sprint Nextel CS' for $378 and from 'Sprint Wireless SVSC' for $349. They are still pending, but there is no way that can be right. So the phone is on the way, should I call them or email them now or wait?

Whats the best number to call or email to use? I have seen so many on this thread

Thanks

Phones are optional. They give them to you at way discounted prices with a 2-yr agreement. If you have eligibility upgrade credit, and still are in contract with current lines, and only want to purchase a new device, Upgrade credit of either $75 0r $150 (See New For You UPGRADE PROGRAM at Sprint site) can be applied to the MSRP or regular price and treated as an ESN swap. But why not take advantage of the discounted or even free phones inasmuch as a 2yr agreement is required of a SERO plan...??? Makes more economic sense, doesn't it...? :thought: LRB

*2 ORDER SUPPORT. They'd advise you which way to go, if they both come @the same time, you can refuse one, take the other and make sure ORDER SUPPORT credits you for the other. Be on top of it, otherwise they'd disconnect your line for owing so much money more so if you have a limited ASL (Account Spending Limit) and have gone way over the ASL.

Well at this point I don't think they are sending me two phones. i only have one tracking number, only one phone shows up in my account, and it looks like my account is also showing a -383 credit. Which would be the two charges - what I really owe + $50 URANG service credit (379+349-395+50) = 383 on my side.

Which obviously I would like back. Now the question is can they actually refund money, not have credit just sitting there?

Stupid question, but.. have they actually posted to the account and not just "Pending" or "Pre-Authorization" Charges? If unsure, I'd suggest contacting your card company used and ask.. if it's pre-auth charges, i'd wait to see if one drops off.

If both post, you can always dispute one w/ your CC company directly if you do not receive any resolution w/ Sprint - then Sprint will be forced to provide supporting documentation for the charge or allow the charge back.

Upgrade credit of either $75 0r $150 LRB

But they will not give you that credit if you get a new SERO phone. I went to the Sprint store with my upgrade page all printed out. They guy walked me over to that phone I bought and said that's all the discounts there are on it. In other words, loyalty upgrade doesn't count!!!

I just got my bill and read the extra charges. Sprint doubled my last bill because they screwed up the account at first. They refused to remove the extra charges, althought they were at fault. So last month, my bill was DOUBLED due to their error.

Rather than post it here, I started a new thread warning folks to correct errors immediately before Sprint screws them and charges them DOUBLE like they did me, then refused to correct it!

HERE IS THE LINK (http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1640805#post1640805)to that post.

And here:
http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1640805#post1640805

When you first sign up for SERO, you should IMMEDIATELY CALL if the bill is set up for "Basic 200." I did not call right away and they DOUBLED the cost of my bill. And they refused to honor any rebates or upgrades for which I was eligible.

Sprint is as bad as Verizon with the nickle-and-dime stuff!!!

Woo hoo!

Got two new Centros, then went to a Sprint store (not an official one, but a resaler) and the girl there called Sprint for us, got our current account moved to Ensemble, then got the two current lines canceled and our numbers moved over to the new phones. They work great!!!

One question. When I try to do the Referal Rewards Program it says I am not eligible. I am trying on the new phone with my MIL as the referrer. My mother in law and I's accounts both go to the same address. Could this be the problem? Or should I have done the referal before changing the numbers on the new phones?

if they are in the SERO plan that is why SERO plan members can not be part of the referral rewards program....at least i know they can't be the ones saying they did the referral

I too waited til the last minute to get online - ordered 2 new phones 12/27 via SERO, added as new lines. (to replace 2 old OOC phones). First e/m said need more info - so I called Order Support, they wanted to know if I had an existing acct, I said yes, but I would be cancelling it, they said okay we will add this to your existing account. Shipment conf e/m with SERO listed on both new phones with new phone nbrs to be shipped 12/31. (UPS tracking still says "billing info received".) So today, I check my account & the 2 new lines are listed as BASIC 200! YIKES! Now, do I call back Order Support or try ecare? Or who??

Okay. According to retentions they can't really fix it until I activate the new phones, but that they would put a note on the account to do a swap-out of some sort to fix it all up. I'll believe it when I see it..

Hopefully I can go "YAY RETENTIONS!"

I think I finally got this sorted out! My experience was not as smooth, nor as hellish, as other posters.

I ordered my phone and SERO 500 on 12/27 (Thursday). It was shipped on Friday (12/28) but because of the holiday, wasn't scheduled to arrive until today (1/2/08, Wednesday). On Monday, my phone number and account information was available on MySprint, but the plan was the "Sprint Basic" for $29.99 (which, I'm sure you all know, is NOT SERO 500).

After several emails to eCare on Monday and Tuesday (12/31 and 1/1), it still was not resolved. The eCare reps I got had no record of me ordering SERO, even though I had received the confirmation email with the order/confirmation number (which was useless to them).

I couldn't call *2 yesterday because CS was observing the New Year. I called today and thought my best first try would be retentions. A very nice CS rep answered, but was unfamiliar with SERO, so he gave me "Employee Services" (?) phone number. The first person I talked to at Employee Services was a very nice lady who had no trouble seeing that I did indeed order SERO, and she changed my plan to the SERO I ordered, including the TEP.

Two minutes later, on MySprint, there is my SERO plan in all its glory.

I was patient with all of my representatives and I tried to be as nice as possible (even when they had no record of me ordering what I actually ordered, ha ha ). I won't post the Employee Services number, because the wonderfully kind woman I spoke with said they shouldn't be referred for the SERO calls.

Thanks to all on the forum, and I hope that I've helped someone! :wavey:

Me too. Ordered 12/27, shipped 12/28, out for delivery last monday the 31st but they couldn't figure out how to get thru the gate. The updated tracking changed to "Package delay - out of UPS control."

Its a good thing I called this morning to give them the gate code for today's delivery or I would still be waiting. Idiots.

I would call the Employee Accounts number (1-866-250-2221). If they can't do it on the first try, just try again. Eventually you'll get someone to switch you over.

charlie

I'll second calling Employee Accounts- they seem to be able to get anything done quickly and without hassle. They also seem to answer the phone in person on without going through any phone menus... I'm curious to hear if they'll come up with a workaround for you to avoid an etf, and get switched onto SERO... At the very least I'd imagine you could do it by agreeing to extend your current contract.

Let us know what happens!

Or who??

This happened to me, and a bunch of others here (signing up for SERO and getting put on the Basic 200 plan)... I had to call for support to get it fixed- I started by calling the order support number that was listed in the confirmation email from my original SERO order. I got trasnfered around a bunch of times, and finaly got somebody in Technical Support. They were able to switch it from Basic 200 to the SERO plan that I ordered- I just had to tell him what email address I used to sign up for SERO.

When I had my account switched over to SERO I kept having the same problem. The regular CS wouldn't help me and they would send me to Employee Accounts. But because I didn't have SERO yet the employee accounts queue would just disconnect me. It took forever but I finally got it done. And now I only call Employee Accounts because they make things so much easier.

Nextel retentions tried to offer me some 1000 minute plan for $59.99, which isn't exactly the SERO 1250 I ordered!

She then tried to transfer me to some 866-508-5420 number, which closed over 2 hours ago.

Have you tried saying "technical support" to the automated menu, or asking the first person you get to be transfered there? I made it a point to ask the guy who finally fixed it for me exactly which department he was in and he said "techincal support".

ok ive been away for a while so let me run down whats happened so far.

i ordered 2 sero lines (1 for me one for mom) on a new account in my name with no issues at all. i wanted our old number so i tried to go the right way and head into a sprint store for a transfer of liability to get our old numbers off our sisters account (moms number is ooc, mine isnt but i'm willing to pay etf no problem).

6-7 hours later in the store they told us we couldn't do it cause she was on the old billing system and im on the new . so they would have to convert her account to ensemble then they could do it. and then they told us even when they did that we couldnt transfer those numbers to our sero lines cause sero offer was only for new customers/new numbers. but they told us they would convert the account and take care of the transfer of liability. long story short they did neither and now were stuck cause our old lines billing recycles tomorrow and we dont wanna pay another month.

so in conclusion, later on today we're both going to verizon to port our numbers there for a few days then port back so sprint cant cry about new customers and all that bs. i cant believe they make it so hard for you to STAY with sprint, they should be happy i opened a new account to bring them NEW MONEY but no they make you go to another carrier just to get the number you want.

ill update on how it goes cause im really tired of the whole process.

i do have one more problem though. when i ordered both phones off the sero site i used the discount code for $50 credit and i havent seen anything. i already got my 1st bill for my phone and ive called about it and the lady said she would split it (25 on one bill , 25 on the next ) but nothing happened.

is it me or when a rep wants you off the phone they just say they will put notes on the account??. cause everytime they say that and i call back they always say there are no notes on the account.

^^update on my $50 credits::

after a reasonable 30 minutes on the phone with a rep who put me on hold for every simple question i asked, i was told that both $50 would appear on my account in 2-3 billing cycles??? problem is now im late on my current payment cause i counted on those credits to be on my account by my 1st bill which is what i was told. but now the next 2-3?? sounds like they want me to just sit around a wait till i forget about it or when it doesnt come and i call about it the issue will be to old for any rep to believe what im saying. im not too happy about this

As soon as your old line becomes OOC, you should be able to "port" it onto your SERO number. I put it in quotes, because it's a multi-part proccess where someone cancels the OOC line, reserves the number, then ports it onto the SERO line. It may take calling a few different reps before you get someone willing to do this, but I, and others here have had it done.

CAll Tech Dept and tell them, you'd been getting obscene phone calls and smut text messages. They'd try and block the codes from the text msjs but you could politely ask if they can generate a new number for you. Remember, the machines generate the numbers so it's up to you to say OK if the numbers sound better, otherwise, ask to try again for another...:D LRB

Yes, YMMV on what the rep says. But yeah its possible.

First though you must port out to a prepaid and port back in and get your account setup on Ensemble.

Or if you don't care about loosing your number just cancel your Premiere account, and then call up and start a new account in Ensemble Billing System.

But VERY FIRST I would just ask if you can change plans, and sign a new two-year contract - since you CAN (via their ads) switch to whatever plan fits your needs best, whenever you need to switch.

After several attempts at trying to end contract and then get the SERO prog, and always getting into a dead end (Earlier I have called 3 times, thereafter written to 5 email ids, each time getting a response that ETF cannot be waived unless I see my first bill and see an Increase), I finally called 877-812-1223, got a human voice in the first second after 2 rings, got transferred to an Ensemble account rep # (877-365-5413) spoke to the first CSR, and politely asked for a transfer to SERO; Spoke for about 10 mins, and then as a last resort said might as well cancel my contract (told the rep had an option to end the contract without an Early Termination fee) so I can stay month to month, and then do some research and port my number. Was transferred to Retentions (took another 15-20 mins; Made sure to request the earlier rep stayed with me on the phone until the transfer was completed. This also made sure the earlier rep briefed retentions on my options available to switch). Luckily, the CSR confirmed with me that I would stay with Sprint if I was moved to SERO, put me on hold for another 10-15 mins and then confirmed the changes could be made. So I got the std SERO

And how do I go about gettin my rebate on the Sprint Touch if I'm getting out of that plan? I'm on a ROLL! I just scored a $500 BB Pearl for $50 and tonight I managed to get SERO! It took me around 8 tries (4 tonight). It was actually as simple as following the instructions here http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90054

I spoke to a guy named Jason and I think it's safe to say that it worked out to my advantage because a little flattery will get you EVERYWHERE! I almost thought he wouldn't do it when he referred me to the web site. I played the dumb girl who went to the web site but wanted to make sure everything went through without a hitch. He told me I'd have to cancel my account and I told him I could do that as long as I could keep my # and he could assure me that the EFT would be waived due to the T&C fees changing. Keep 'em talking and interested in the conversation. It feels good to know you're helping someone and making their day, so be sure to stroke that ego! Instead of transferring me to retentions, he "back doored" his way into switching me to SERO and added some promo codes (we'll see how it all works out) and made it effective as of NOW! Thanks everyone for posting such useful information!

Dave M

Since I was thwarted in my attempts to get SERO, I was offered one of two plans

1) My Fair and Flexible Plan--30% in discounts....700 minutes...nights and weekends starting at 7; 500 free texts on two lines; unlimited text on one line ($8); power vision on two lines ($10 each)

Bottom line for three phones $70 (basic plan) + $10 (one extra line beyond two) + $8 unlimited text + $20 (power vision * 2) = $108 - 30% discount = ~$75 which is cheaper than three SERO lines anyway although not as many minutes

2) Their $70 700 minute plan but $5 for power vision but extra minutes beyond 700 are 45 cents (where they are much cheaper in the above) - so this would be $10 cheaper but I would be anxious about the minute overages

At any rate, I am content...

Here is my big question - I did set up a new SERO account separately for a fourth line but I wonder if they would just let me add it to my existing family plan? That would add $28 (extra line, unlimited text and internet) plus a 30% discount so it would only be $22 extra vice the $30 I am paying for SERO

No, SERO plans are for individual lines. You cannot have it added to a family plan and good luck trying to get any discounts added since SERO is already a heavily discounted plan.

So just wanted to wrap up my SERO experience so far. Everything went pretty smoothly, I have my phone working with SERO. :headbang2

I was already with Sprint and my contract wasn't up till Feb '08. But I pulled the trigger anyway just incase Sprint decided not to redo the unlimited texts and/or SERO. I ordered online, on 12/30. Getting a Touch with the 500 plan, plus the phone insurance, and the URANG code. In less than 24 hours I went ASI_FULLFILLMENT and got a tracking number. I never got an email to call or any of that. I looked at my account and seemed everything was set up correctly with the FF500 plan. This was also straight up a new line, not trying to port any numbers. I wanted a new number anyway.

The only few things I had to deal with was they double charged me for the phone. Finally after a week though, the second charge that had been pending, fell off my card. So thats good. But now I have a 380 credit on my account now, which shouldn't be there. I am guessing it will probably disappear in the next billing cycle. Besides the $50 service credit.

The other ones were that I did have to deal with Customer service twice. Once when I got the phone, I guess to do a semi-activate or whatever it was when you first get the phone. Very Suprisingly, it went through immedialtly and the rep was very helpful and nice. I did ask about the overcharge and said he would put a note on the file, but I would have to do a 'reversal' of charges with my CC company where they would have to talk to Sprint to cancel it off. I never ended up doing it, just waiting to see if the pending charge would fall off by itself. Which it did! woot! :) The final time I had to talk to CS was that my Vision was not working and after trying some fixes that didn't work, I made the call. Again, amazingly, I got right through after saying Tech support to the automated system. This guy was also pretty nice and after about 10 mins, he was able to re-provision the phone and everything was good.

So anyway thats my story with SERO. So except for the extra credit on my account, hopefully that will be it. But I will hold my breath until I get my first bill. I am loving the SERO so far. Thanks for everybody's help and all the tip/tricks I found on this board. You guys rock!! :headbang2

Nix, something I've seemed to notice on my SERO lines is that when calling *2 I don't seem to get the international pantheon of low-level customer service reps that I got on my regular lines. It is almost as though the calls are directed to a different set of representatives (certainly easily done) instead of the normal set.

Has anyone else on SERO with Ensemble noticed this?

Well I signed up over the weekend - I'm an existing OOC customer. Went with the Q9c and the 500 minute plan. I used savings@sprintemi.com I got the email right away saying there was a problem so I called in this morning and the lady was very helpful - said somebody else had tried putting the new SERO account on my existing account but she went ahead and changed it back to seperate because she said I was allowed to simultaneously have a regular account and one SERO account. After I hung up my status changed to an error and is now hanging on CFO-REVIEW.

My wife signed up on her own SERO account with savings@sprintemi and it went through without a hitch (she's a new customer). Her phone should be here tomorrow.

I have two questions though: 1) on her mysprint it says nothing about powervision or a data plan 2) her mysprint says nothing about the unlimited text although she signed up for it... Should we call in and have them added or are they included and just don't show up online?

Yeah Tom, I was almost in a state of shock that I got through not just once but twice quickly and had two friendly and seemingly competent people. Maybe I just had some luck on my side. Both were to the *2.

Has anybody had a problem getting their $100-$150 rebate with phones on the $30 SERO? I was noticing on the rebate that it said something about a min $35 dollar plan because thats the smallest regular one, may apply. Think this matters with 500 SERO, being a discounted plan under $35?

1. Unlimited Data didn't show up until I started actually using it, but you have to go to the Usage screen. 2. Unlimited Text messages showed up on mine from the start, but again it was only on the Usage screen not on the plan details.

Ahhh ok, I just looked under plan details. I'll check under usage - both now and once we get her phone up and running. I guess same thing will apply when I get mine, still no tracking number as of yet though.

I'm surprised savings@sprintemi.com is still working.

Right, the unlimited data and text ONLY show up in usage, not in the plan details - I've been after Sprint elsewhere to correct that, but not having any luck. Maybe I'll try a different route to getting that done.

(How can I have an agreement with Sprint, a contract, without them ever accurately spelling out what in heck I've agreed to???)

Unlimited tex does show up in my plan details- but I think that is because when I went through the confusion of having the plan corrected from Basic200 to SERO, I made sure to confirm I was getting the unlimited text add-on (it appears as a free add-on when signing up). The person said SERO by itself didn't indicate anything about unilimited text on the account, so he added it as an item...

My guess is that all of the unlimited stuff *is* SERO..

Well this is just great... my order was stuck in CFO-REVIEW all day so I called the Sprint order status line just to ask if a tracking number had been issued - I didn't mention any problems but the CSR automatically resubmitted my order number so now my order status has been back on ENSEMBLE_ACTIVATION_ERROR for the last three hours... I hope I didn't make things worse!

ok first of all thanks to all those who contributed to my success and who also informed others. last monday I called retention [actually called account services] to see if I could get a NSD on the touch. no I was told. I tried business customer service since I had a plan with a 25% discount thru my company. no I was told. one more try to retention and I got an offer to return my phone in exchange for a new touch. at no charge. uh yeah I said. so I am looking at the sero plan and wondering why its so hard to get plan when the website itself will confirm your number is portable? anyway I call tonite and am on hold with retention for 11 minutes and then get this.. I am led to suggest why I am considering another provider. yeah I was surprised but I am not stupid. I said I like the sprint service but that the iphone is on my mind. no problem the guy says and he understands. he ASKED me what it would take to stay with sprint and I told him the sero 1250 plan. I told him my number isnt important to me and the contract isnt a problem either. he says I will get you that plan RIGHT NOW and it will be in effect for my next billing cycle. trying to cover the bases I ask about my number and he says no problem you can keep it. this was easily my best ever experience with sprint. asked him about the free text messaging and he said its not included on the plan. I literally just got off the phone with sprint and the csr transferred me to retention [her suggestion not mine] to confirm that picture mail is included. and for those who care, unlimited text messaging goes until april 16th. the implication being by the rep who said he was unfamiliar with sero that it ends on that date not is included until that date. now maybe one of you can clarify. as for me I am one happy sprint customer even though my bill goes up nearly 25%. thank you sprint.

Well, last night, I finally just emailed and asked to be switched to SERO outright, no beating around the bush. Well, they've told me "no" in a bunch of different ways throughout today, despite my persistence.

I'm out of contract and as of yesterday morning I had decided to go ahead and stay with Sprint, just get a new phone. But then I got this bright idea to ask for SERO. . . so now I'm looking to see what else is out there because, since I know it can be done, them telling me no is like them telling me I'm not good enough. And considering that a little over a month ago I was paying nearly $100 a month for one line, I know I can go and get the same anywhere else.

quick question. i know theres TONS of pages on this SERO program. Can anyone answer me this real fast though? My 2-year contract will be up this summer, and i currently am paying i believe $40 for 450 minutes (n/w@7), and $30 for unlimited data/txt/navigation. According to the SERO site it says that a NON-SERO account cant have the plan added on, and a new one must be created.. Can someone tell me the easiest way to convert to the SERO plan?? Like, would it be best to wait for my 2 years to end, create a new SERO account using savings@sprintemi.com, and using my 150 rebate on a phone with a new 2-year contract?? please let me know the best route to take and thanks!

First of all...You Musiq can't be eligible for a rebate..that phone hasn't even been out for 1 year much less two years. The only Truly prescribed method, that is, totally within the Sprint Methods and Procedures is to wait out your contract...cancel that line and NUMBER and sign on the SERO website using a LEGITIMATE Sprint employee's work e-mail address.Purchase the new phone at the discounted price and rest comfortably that you have followed all guidelines and accepted procedures to get your deeply discounted plan....If you follow those instruction you will get a SERO plan with no questions asked and can feel good that you did so the CORRECT way!!!

i figure i could at least give it a shot, i mean the worst they could tell me is the email address is unnacceptable. but yeah i'll most likely wait out my 2-year contract, and then when it gets near the end i'll start calling up care or someone and seeing what they can work out to get me on the SERO. i personally think its kinda lame that i have an @sprint.com email address but since i work for an outsourced company it doesnt work.. meh oh well hopefully we'll get our addresses validated in the future.. Oh, and btw, the rebate should be obtainable after the 2-year contract ends, not when i got a different phone. Either way, i never technically purchased a new device. I lost my A920, got a refurbished sanyo M1, and that glitched on me and got it replaced for free with a musiq :)

You will lose it from your old account but on the new SERO you will have access to Sprint TV dont quote me on this but I believe you will have the basic Sprint TV for your SERO plan. But you can always pay more to get the additonal channels.

You can add a SERO plan to your existing account there is an option on the main page saying adding to an existing account. (Unless it has changed recently)

Some people feel that it is easier to get SERO when you are OOC because you have not contract holding you back basically you have more mobility to do things with you account. But you can always give it a try and see what happens.

You can refer to this thread as well to help you http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90054

If I have to go to the extremes of switching to a new provider and then switching back I'd probably just stay with the new company. Especially since some say if you cancel you have to wait 45 days to open a new account.

However, I have even considered just staying with my new 450 plan since I'll get what I want for only $20 more than I'd pay on the SERO plan, which is still about $40-50 (depending on tax) less than what I use to pay. But I can go and pay that anywhere, and get a new phone in the process.

:huh:So, can you use the phone as a modem (without any hacks) on the sero plan. Ive seems some conflicting posts about that.

I have a plan (employer) that gets the 20% discount so its 32 a month w/discount. I started the sero process and its in asi_fullfillment status.. so thats on the way...

My current non sero plan is still in the 30 day honeymoon stage before U are stuck in contract.. called retentions to see if they would roll the plan.. first 3 attempts said no... finally got one to add the perks and not call it a sero plan... got 100 bonus mins... added to 450 this expires 2 yrs from today.. got unlimited txt, unlimited vision, and 3 free any network added.. The 3 free any network is VERY important to me. Also has anyone gotten that added no charge to thier sero acct. Its under sprint to home in the billing system but retentions so far has been the only ones that can add it. Verified with 2 more reps and at store that these features (besides the 100bonus mins) do NOT have any experation... so the question is.. to use the sero acct when the phone arrives and xcel this acct or to use the existing acct... as its just slightly better with 50 extra mins a month for 2 yrs. To drink the retention coolaid or not, that is the question...

You have to look for one of my old posts, but I have listed two phone numbers which connect you straight to a human voice. From there, depending upon how regular you are in your payments, how much time have you had sprint for, and how polite can you be to the CSR, you could ask them for your options to switch your plan to SERO. Persist with the request, as if that was your main objetive, and only as an afterthought, say in that case you would want to opt out of the contract without an Early termination fee (which the recent changes in Sprint's terms of contract enable you to do; remember, the
CSR will try to tell you the ETF waiver will be good only when there is an adverse effect; it is you who has to assert (politely) that adverse or not, the change in contract is material and therefore you can, if you want to, waive the etf). Also ask the CSR to stay with you until you get a human voice at the Retentions dept. If you have played it right until now, you could be transferred to Retentions, where again, you have to make them believe that you are not calling with the intention of milking the change in contract to get the most benefits; just try to tell them that you want SERO and you will be happy to continue with Sprint. Else you might have to get a new phone going with (one of their competitors for your area).

Once again, depending upon how nice you are, YMMV. BUT PLEASE GUYS, once the CSR has been able to genuinely help you, PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO tell them that you would like to leave a word of RECOMMENDATION for their nice work with their supervisor. While this encourages them to be better receptive to their customer's calls (it could be you another time), it also helps them in their careers without any expense on your part.

Through all this, take down the name (must), employee id (must) and incidence id (optional) for all your conversations and write it down for your records. Sprint is not known for keeping its word all in one go. So you may have to call again if the new plan doesn't get activated...and then the all important disclosure: YMMV

Sorry but you are going to have a hell of a time getting anyone inside Sprint to just switch you over unless you call and call and call... and then they may just put notes on your account saying to never give you anything.

The SERO site clearly states that SERO plans are for new customers and existing customers adding a new line of service. Most (myself included) order a new line of service and then canceled the OOC line afterwards. I didn't care about my phone number, some do, that's when the problems start.

It is possible. I got mine switched about a year ago. I called in on another issue. I metioned it to the CSR and it was done in five minutes. Now for some reason since the migration I have been switched to a SWAC account. It is the same price with the same features. The only difference is that my 10% loyalty was put back on. I have not called sprint in 6 months, I have no idea how it happened. But im not complaining.

UPDATE: I got the plan w/o an email and this is how I did it...

I had about 4 months left on my current contract and called to have the plan changed. They gave free txts and 800 more minutes at the same price (I had a 200 min plan) and kept my corp discount. I did this just a couple of days ago.

Well, they also bumped my contract back up to 2 years. I'm glad I found SERO this week, because if the timing was wrong, I don't think I would have been able to do this.

I called 888-882-4030 and told them that I was missinformed by their CSR about the SERO plan and was told that I could convert my current plan to SERO. They were not successful, but now I have 2 MORE years on my current contract.

They immediatly signed me up for SERO (no questions asked) and told me to call *2 and have them cancel my new 2 year agreement since I was still in the 30 day grace period. They could not completely cancal, so I still have the remaining 4 months left, which I told them I was completely fine with (I also have $150 credit so no biggie).

Now, my Touch is in the mail!

Thanks SO MUCH for all the useful help, guys!!!

There should be no Discounts of any sort on a SWAC account as they are discounted deeper than a SERO account.....Mark my word an internal audit by our highly competent and specially trained auditors will find that discount and discontinue it with no notice as we don't have to give notice on a discount that never should have been in existance to start with on a SWAC account!!!

What are the addon features listed on a new sero acct? I just had Cust Svc add caller ID blocking and I think something is missing.. Under Plan Addons on the web interface.

Also any comments on my previous posts.. about go sero or take the "non" sero acct. perks?

...also I could not get anyone to simply switch my account. everyone said I had to start a new account. Is it even possible to switch your exsisting account?

According to ecare it's possible.
I talked to them and the guy said to contact the sero people and explain the situation and they would switch my account over without any contract extensions or changes other than my plan.

I don't know how reliable it is but I'm going to attempt to get it since the guy spelled it out plain and simple in those words so there's no other way to interpret what he said.

ahh sero's hurting my brain...
i'm due for a q9C, which rachel in retentions price-matched for me and she's flagging my number on my family account with free powervision after it arrives and gets activated.
I think a month after that, or maybe 2weeks I'm going to call back and ask about a SERO plan on that line OR just somethin comparable for the family line...

i may just ask for something comparable tomorrow when i speak to her actually..

btw, anyone know if FREE UNLTD TEXT MSGs is offered on non-sero family plans? Shes said the best she could do was $5/month instead of the current $8/month (which we're forced to pay cuz sprint messed up my original grandfathered vision plan that had free texts w/ unlimited vision :( )

I did not ask for it. I dont care if I have it. It is nice. The migration screwed up my plan. I never had the discount when on SERO. It re- appeared on its own. Like I said I have not called sprint in 6 months. All this happened about three months ago. Again I never asked for this. I was not trying to get something extra. It just happened. I was not trying to screw the system. Not everybody is. By the way this plan is not more deeply discounted than SERO. My bill is the exact same price it was with SERO before the change.

You have something extra added to that SWAC account....for example..the 500 min SWAC with unlimited text and unlimited data is $15/month while the same SERO plan is $30

Well I have the 1250 and it is the same price as SERO. Again I did not ask for it.

I didn't care about my phone number, some do, that's when the problems start.I got this email this morning:

Thank you for your reply.

I understand that you wish to switch to the special SERO plan and willing to waive off the Early Termination Fee.

You are our very valuable customer and we appreciate your business.

Considering your valuable associations with us, I discussed this case with my supervisor. As per the discussion, I promise to waive off the Early Termination Fee.

Please go ahead and switch to the SERO plan and once the plan is changed, simply write back to me. I will glad to waive off the the Early Termination Fee as per the promise.

Thank you for emailing us. We are here for you.
I'm out-of-contract so there is no ETF -- sometimes I think they intentionally misunderstand me. Are they still telling me to go to the website? I know this option isn't on my account, under "Change Plan," so I don't see any other way for me to do it.

Can't they do it? Is it really impossible to keep my number? I did check on the SERO website and it said my number can't. :-(

So, can they do it for me if I stop insisting on keeping my number?

In my response I say I'm willing to change my number but still under the condition I get my old area code, which is in Dallas County. I still live in the same area but Tarrant County is long distance for landlines in Dallas, and several of my older relatives live there, including my Mom. I also ask rather my old number can be forwarded to the new. I'm willing to pay for that for a month or two, if isn't too expensive.

Just order a new line with SERO from the SERO website. Then you can call and try and get your number switched over. Others on this forum have wasted weeks of time calling to have it done. As I stated I didn't care about my number and just got a new one.

Well, I just went through the SERO site and selected all the options I want and discovered I'd save less than $10/month, or $5 if I don't make them add my 6pm nights back.

The 1250 plan is only $7 less than my old 1000 plan. Yeah SERO has a lot more minutes but I very rarely came close to using 1000, most times I didn't use even half, which is why I recently switched to the 450. What I have now is enough but I wanted to save some money. I thought it's be like $20-30 less but I obviously wasn't considering everything. I don't know what I was thinking. :-)

Of course SERO is still better since I only get 500 free text messages, but I don't use all of those either. Plus, I have the option to drop the Internet and end up with a cheaper bill.

I still think it's a great plan, just not enough savings to go through the hassle of changing my number. Hopefully, now I can talk them into free nights at 6pm since they assured me I'd keep that when I switched last week.

You can actually ask them for a specific number with the last 4digits different.
When we added my Dad's line we made sure the number was 914-575-xxxx. My mother's, brother's and I have 914-575-xxxx numbers. Me and my brother's have just the last 2digits different. while my mom's has the last 3.

I dunno if this helped, but i think its not a bad option when you HAVE to change ur number. I considered it , but i'm staying with my same plan and not SERO just yet.

I signed up for SERO on the website on last week, got the phone and then ported my OOC P2K number that I've had for 7 years to my new SERO account on Ensemble. All I did was call the Ensemble porting department at 866-412-8513 and it was easier than anything has ever been with Sprint.

There was one little blip where the system was not able to complete the transaction right away and I had to call back a half hour later to complete. When I did, the new rep realized the first one didn't replace my original SERO number but just added my old number to the account so I had two where I should have had one. He fixed it and everything is just fine. I checked online. SERO F&F 500, etc. I see my contract expiration date changed to 1/8/08 from 1/2/08, but I don't care. I confirmed and the porting rep said your contract expiration always changes when you move a number from one system to another. If that is all the issues I will have, and avoided porting to a prepaid phone, I am very happy.

I've gone thru the numerous ~SERO threads and am still unsure about the answer for my SERO switchover question. Looking for advice from the knowledgeable folks on this forum:
I have an old plan which is OOC. (F&C-300 for $30/mo $24 after 20%corp discount)
I plan to switch to SERO and get a new phone.
(and I already have a gophone, so could use it to port/hold my old number, if its easier or necessary.)

Here's the question:
I'm not sure in what order to do the SERO switchover - Which of the following is better?

Port out my existing number to the GoPhone first (I was told that if I port the existing number to my gophone, my acct immediately cancels). Then sign up for a new SERO acct and phone as a "new user" and, upon receiving the new phone, port my number to the new phone.

First sign up for the SERO plan and new phone, and possibly allow them to move my existing plan/phone to SERO (as long as they dont try to re-up my orig contract). Then port-out my old number to the GoPhone and (sometime later) port-in that number to the new phone.

Call *2-Cancel, talk to retentions and see what I can wrangle as far as a switchover either to SERO or to a retention/custom plan. My plan is so old that it will need to change anyway to allow use with any data phones. (has old-vision)

any better way to do this? ...

Thanks in advance for your help and advice!
---Dave

If you go for #3, you'll be able to get some goodies close to SERO.

Well, to answer one of my own questions. It DOES NOT come with a phone as modem option.. but a guy in tech support was kind enough to add it for me at no additional grief.. I mean charge.

I would go with option #1 and get me a new EVDO phone as you don't wualify for an upgrade with your existing plan. One of the lesser known yet enforcable qualification for a 2 year upg of phone
