View Full Version : 5months later with the A900...And why it sucks...

So in my family there are 4 Samsung A900s, of all of them mine seems to have a mind of its own...
First off, Battery life sucks big time - solution car charger and extra charger at work. -
Then comes the BlueTooth, with my MotoH700, is was scratchy, but for some reason after re-installing it to my phone it seems to work flawlessly! +
And Camera... bleh good for some pics, gots to be REALLY still to get a non-blurred shot. -
Screen/Colors awesome, best color/screen combo I've had on a cell phone ever! +
Buttons are great, just wish the 'back' button and 'end' button were in spots that my thumb didnt like to accidentally hit... +
And now the nightmares...
At first I used music store a bunch, just listening to the 30sec demos... then I even downloaded several songs... after about 3 weeks of usage the freakin 'music store' DISSAPPEARED off the phone?!?!? ***! called Sprint and they never heard of my problem, so I get credited for my songs I cant listen to anymore, and have taken the phone to sprint and they want to charge me $55 to 'fix' it... and even then, they said it may not work. -

I've had 4 tickets done on this phone, all changed my 'username', as well as erasing all my bookmarks, and email contacts. I for a while got a LOT of 'error 1012' takes sprint about 2 or 3 weeks to straighten this out...

I get 'error 67' for a week after all the 'error 1012' were supposedly fixed.

For 3 weeks I have not been able to download more than ONE thing per day... sprint said they 'never had that problem before...' and so ticket #5 comes about...

Ready for Ticket #6?.... here it is: This happened last month, I've gotten picture mail or video mail from friends or parents and maybe only 1 or 2 pics... BUT it'll create 5 or more duplicates... (My pops can send 1 video of the dogs, and I will get atleast 5 or more of the same thing... ) this in which drains the already shotty battery and makes the phone lag big time! Last night they sent me 3 videos... guess how many are actually IN my box?.... 26 videos. ...Which created ticket #7 this morning!

I am so close the killing this phone, that if it happens again, a 32grain from my .204 Ruger will end this A900s life!

Overall, I have NEVER had any problems out of sprint till now...I know tis the phone, but I do not have $200+ to drop on a new phone... plus my wife needs a new one as well, both screens are cracked on hers....

Sounds like really bad luck :( I have had mine for about 6 months and other than needing a lockline replacement when I lost one, its been a great phone for me.

Yeah the battery life isn't great, but I think its what you sacrifice for a really slim phone. My solution was an extended battery and putting the phone on roaming only in spotty sprint coverage areas.

I haven't ran into your other issues, thankfully!
