Motorola Q Review
By: EliteABombAZ

Last Monday I ordered the Q from "Retentions/Account Services" for $199. If you are out of contract, you can definitely pull one from them for $99-$199 depending on your account status. It was shipped via UPS Next Day Air Saver.

Tuesday afternoon the phone arrived and I immediately opened the package. You get the Q, battery, battery cover, usb cable, and wall charger. The instuction manual mentions a Mini SD card as being included, but it is a misprint. You can get a cheap on if you search Pricewatch.com's Flash Memory section.

The phone has excellent build quality. The layout of the letter/number keys is nice and comforable. The Talk, End, Softkeys and middle "Action" buttion seem very stiff though. After a couple of days, I got used to them, but when I have incoming calls, I find myself sometimes needing to attempt to click the "Talk" button more than once due to stiffness.

The menus are organized and pretty self explainitory. I installed a few applications and shortcuts to them are put into the start menu 98% of the time. When you exit a program, it doesn't always completly close. Depending on the program, it can keep running the backround, which can affect battery life.

Speaking of battery life... very good. Better than a900. I can go through the whole day sending a few texts, email sends/receives every 15 mins, and I take a few calls. By the end of the day, I still have 2 bars left.

Camera. Other user reviews praise the camera. I actually think it sucks... especially compared to the one in the a900. Pics look grainy and the flash (aka flashlight) makes people look like bright ghosts.

Bluetooth is uncrippled and signal is strong. I can push files to phones across my house.

Signal seems weaker than my M1, but I live in a weak area according to Sprint's maps.

I give the Q an 8/10.
