View Full Version : Sirius going away?

I was organizing some paperwork today and came across the Sprint sheets we get monthly that outline upcoming plan and pricing changes.
Under the section that said ENDING it says: Removal of Sirius from Power Vision Pack and one more word that I didn't squeeze into the pic I snapped and can't remember what it was but it wasn't relevant and I will check tomorrow.
I sent the pic to a couple of people so hopefull someone will post it soon.
I wasn't around when My rep dropped these off so I was unable to ask what exactly that meant.
Anybody know?

what does that part in the pic that says removal of ready link references ? is RL getting phased out

and i bet that serious removal from vision packages probably signifies they are going to sell it in its own individual package

Are you kidding? SIRIUS Hits 1 is pretty much the only channel of streaming content that I actually use. As long as I don't change my power vision plan, I will be able to continue using SIRIUS Hits 1 without extra charge, correct?

Thanks for posting the pic BrettW! I'm wondering if it means that new PV packs won't include it. As for RL I'm sure they will still support it, just not advertise it so nothing much changes there lol.

I think RL is getting dropped and they are just gonna run with the nextel walkie talkie on the powersource phones. But don't quote me on that because I am not sure.

PowerSource phones are pretty neat. We have the ic502 (Buzz) here.

My question regarding the Sirius removal. If this is true, is it getting removed from ALL Power Vision Plans? Or just the basic ones? Currently, I'm subscribed to Power Vision Ultimate. Thanks!

This is only going to affect those who change plans or sign-up for a Power Vision plan after SIRIUS is removed, correct?

So, if I stay put on my current plan I will get to keep SIRIUS?

No clue what it means. That's why I'm asking ya'll. :)

Whats this sirius thing? Is this that sattalite radio thing? If so how do you get it on your phone? Does it cost anything?

If you have a Power Vision Pack open up your Media Player, then go to Channel Listings, Music & Radio, SIRIUS Hits or type "53" after opening your channel listings. SIRIUS is streaming music so basically one channel of Sat. radio on your phone. SIRIUS is included with any Power Vision Pack.

Interesting...how do I know what costs money and what doesnt? How much juice does it take to stream music and stuff? And does the screen ever turn off or is it gonna stay on and eat battery too?

Basically if you try to open a channel you do not have it will give you a description of the channel and then ask you to purchase it for a monthly fee. The streaming content does eat battery, but it is not as bad as most think. If I'm listening to music I usually turn SIRIUS and then close my phone so that it does not power the large LCD for no reason at all. While streaming tv channels, the screen does stay lit to the best of my knowledge.

lucky. If I close my KRZR it just shuts.

I heard that the new firmware update fixes that. Too bad only a few people were able to get the update before the 1012 error...

That is not very convenient...What is the deal with the new firmware? Do you need to take the phone into the store to get the firmware updated?

I do use my Sirius quite often. I hope it isn't taken away from me. That would be sad.

It says it is effective from the 14th but nobody has given insight as to what this actually means. I have an employee meeting on Tuesday evening though so I'll ask My rep if I see her.
