Is it possible for a computer with Sprint EVDO service to connect to the internet in Anchorage Alaska. This would be roaming on the ACS EVDO service established there. I would expect the service to degrade to 1xrtt.

Thank you

What provider's towers are in use?

As far I can tell thus far sprint has roaming agreements in place with: alltel, US Cellular, and verizon. Alltel is evdo roaming and there have been confirmed reports that evdo roaming on verizon was working as well (supposedly it was supposed to only be 1xRTT on verizon).

I posted my Alaska voice and data roaming experience in Fairbanks and Anchorage in Sep-Oct 06 here, www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1277280 (http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1277280). My bill reflected both data and voice roaming. Service outside Fairbanks fell off fast.

Sprint confirmed it had roaming on this map before I went, https://coverage.sprintpcs.com/IMPACT.jsp. Data was 1xRTT. You can see the antenna owners in Alaska here, however, you can't always tell which carriers use the antennas.

Thank you sbiz. I have put substantial effort into this question and finally you were able to answer it. I appreciate your help.
