Well, I got the phone bug again even though I love my 8400. I wanted something thinner to carry at work. I regret giving back my 610 and can't find another one so I bought the m-500.
Pros. Very lightweight and sharp looking, very thin. The speaker while talking sounds good and sharp, plenty loud. It connected immediately with my Jabra 350 BT headset every time I recieved a call. My Sanyo doesn't connect as fast. Ok, that's about all I can find good to say. O ya, one more thing, the screen really looks sharp even though it's smaller than most phones.
Why I returned it after 2 days? Horrible battery life, and I am not a heavy user. The keypad looks great but I had a real hard time not hitting the wrong keys, especially the directional pad. I could not hit the menu button in the middle without using the very tip of my finger. The phone locked up on me several times, mostly after sending a text message, it would take a long while to go back to the main menu. The speed dial numbers do not let you scroll through multiple numbers for a contact like the Sanyos do although it does have many more speed dial locations I only need a few and I loved being able to scroll through various numbers for my contacts. The speaker was ok when using speaker phone, better than I thought it would be and now that I have found a good BT headset I don't much care that much about speakers anyway. The T9 is not as good as the sanyos or intuitive although much better than the 900. So I took it back, mostly because of the keypad and battery life.
I held an M1 in the store and not near as big as I thought it would be. Pretty nice. maybe I'll try one of those out someday. Till then, back to the trusty ole' 8400.
