I have been reading through the posts having to do with prl's and losing power vision and I have concluded that I have a power vision problem that I couldn't get answered by reading any of the other threads. When I go into an area which has power vision(I live in an area that doesn't have it) the phone (M1) indicates I have power vision, then when I go to use on demand, the web, ect... the phone reverts to the 1x network and then the only way I can get pv back is to backout of what ever I was doing at the time and it goes back to pv, then after a few seconds I lose service and I am back to the 1x network (with FULL signal i loose the network's full signal when it switches from pv to 1x i then have full signal once again) until i reboot my phone. BTW I have the 20224 prl, which I had to take the phone into a store to get it back to evdo from the 10036 prl. I had the same dreaded problems with having orginally the 60606 and then being downgraded. I DON'T think this issue with pv and the prl's are going to be solved soon just because this has been going on since the beginning of December. Do all of these new phones come with these kinds of activation flaws????? Thanks for reading my long rant.

Have you called tech or advanced tech?

It could be a number of things other than the phone. The fastest way to figure it out is to get another Sprint PV phone and check them side by side. That may be easiest to do in a Sprint store, if one is nearby. Also, the current PRL is 20225. That should move you from an EVDO (Power Vision) area to a 1xRTT area and back seamlessly.

I think the Sanyo 8400 & M1 phones are suppose to update the PRL themselves when powered up on an EVDO area. Call *2 and have them push 20225 anyway. Once it gets straightened out, you'll enjoy the phone. Hang in there.

What good what that do me to call tech support? You think they will be able to fix my problem? BTW I don't live in a corporate market, I am in ipcs territory if that makes any difference.

I'm afraid to have them flag my account for a prl update as it could very well revert me back to the 10036 prl. I tried the pv in Benton Harbor, MI and Chicago, IL when i was traveling and it did the same thing in chicago as it does in benton harbor. When I was in chicago, I stopped by a sprint store and he said that isn't normal as his pv was working the correct way. Do you think it is a phone problem or the service and all of the screwed up prls and firmware updates? When I first got the phone, I powered it up in an non-evdo area. Also when I tried to update the pv profile in a pv area I got the 1012 error code just like another SU user got. I hope I am not the only person with these problems. Any other suggestions??

sbiz gave you two great and exceptional options to try. Did you try those yet? Try those and then let us know what happens

I'm having the same issue. I'm getting tired of waiting so not sure if it would help but I put in a trouble ticket today. I don't want to this but if it's not fixed soon I might just return my phone and take my chances on getting a new one with the current 60605.

Mine is working perfectly. Updated itself to the PRL# 60606, PV works, Sprint TV is great, all calls come in, no drops, and texts come thru in seconds. Outside of Dayton OH and reception is good, btw.
