I'm going on a cruise ship that Sprint offers service for $2.99/min. Does anyone know if:
a) Caller-ID information comes through on incoming calls?
b) Can I send/receive text messages?

I checked out Cingular's site and their phones get caller-id and text messaging but what about Sprint? Verizon doesn't have any information about cruise ships that I can find.

Thanks,
Aaron

Which cruise ship line is this for? Have you contacted Sprint to ask them about this service? It may be land-line only.

Dude I just came back from a Cruise during christmas.. On Royal Caribbean. I did not get anyservice unless I set my phone to Roam olny. It goes through the ship then through sprint. All i know I talked to some one on the ship and was told its like 2bucks a min for calls and 50c a min for sending text and 15 to recieve them.. I might not be totaly corect. Its best to call the cruise line first and talk to them. To access interent on my ship though computer its .50c a min. All i know I was without interent and phone service for a whole week.

I'm on RC also. I was on a cruise during early December, but at the time I only had a 4920 which doesn't support data roaming. Since I now have a 8400, I'm curious. I talked to RC and they said Sprint does the pricing. I called Sprint 3 times and got 3 different answers so I was hoping someone here would have experience and would actually have a bill in front of them...if not, I'll try it out and tell everyone what happened to me. :)
