anyone had success in OTA update to PRL 20225? I just had CS flag mine and it's still at 10036.

yeah. basically, there was an error in OTA, and people only confounded it by calling up for PRL updates.

as of right now, the only fix is to have a Service and Repair location reflash the PRL back to 20xxx

Well is 60606 the correct prl address? It was at 20224 but changed somehow.

Interesting... I just got mine delivered on 1/3/07 and the PRL is 60605!

yeah all the new ones come with a 60xxx series PRL, and the current ones will all auto update to it. Mine went from 20225 to 60606 on its own

That would explain the "network is upgrading your settings" message i was getting a couple days ago.

Mine 60606 couldn't remember which one was when I got it, but I remember the phone updates alone two times I believe

I got my phone before the release and it was 20224. It automatically updated to 60606. Something to do with the new blue roaming triangle symbol. At least that's what I've read.

Deval

also, your phone will no longer say digital roaming.

I love it...I can send pictures/text while roaming...screw verizon and their network :D

That triangle is like an industry standard symbol for roaming, it is found on most other cdma phones for other carriers.

can anyone tell me the difference between 20225 & 60xxx?

2 Sprint stores and a Sprint Tech Center couldn't fix my M1. The only update they had for the phone was PRL 10036. Sprint kept saying they would eventually send an update but it never came. I just had Sprint send out a new phone and so far it's working great. My *2 isn't flagged so I don't have to worry about being updated back to PRL 10036. My advice is send it back and have them send you a new phone.

I had to go into the sprint store to get my m1 reflashed from 10036 to 20024 because *2 changed when I called in. I was in/out of the store in 5 mins.I posted this in another thread. I originally had 60606. I'm going to call teir 2 support and see if they can push the 60606 to my phone.

Just bought my M1 in a store a couple of days ago. PRL is 20224. Software is 1001SP. When I go to "update phone" it says there are none available. I wonder if mine will ever auto-update to the new PRL?

It will eventually, just look for the the network is upgrading your phones settings pop up.

I sure hope that is the case-I hate buying defective electronics. Wonder how long it will take? My phone is on 24-7 and nothing yet. I even turned it off, then on again and nothing.

The update phone part has to do with the software\firmware of the phone, my M1 won't update either. The prl updates when you call *2 and it will say upgrading phone settings.

I had the same problem as you have, with having originally the 60606 prl and when called *2 for some other issues it reverted back to the 10036. I don't know if it had anything to do with it but, I had the 60606 prl before I ported an old number to my phone because of various issues with sprint being unable to give me a local number and that might of had something to do with it too.

Maybe MobilPreacher will chime in,

Is it just me or is Sanyo a little Satanic with 060606?

They are coming out with "chips" in the new passports now, and there was even mention of "implanting identification" under the skin on CNN this week.

REPENT!

Edit
If I call and have my prl flagged will I get the 60606 prl or will I get something else like 10034?

thanks

the only fix is the store reflashing it to 20226, then it will auto update to 60606So if I have 20224 it won't auto update? If not I guess I'll call a Sprint store tomorrow to see if they have the 20226 prl. I wonder why the tech reflashed my M1 with 20224 instead of 20226 (if they have it)?

Mine updated yesterday to 60606, but not smoothly.

Late yesterday morning, I got a text message from Sprint. The one where they remind you that you have TV and text messaging-advertisement.

While reading this message, I got knocked off the service. The phone went into voice service search mode. I let it search all afternoon. It could not find the voice service.
I checked the PRL on the phone and it was the 60606.

Only after turning the phone off and restarting did it get back on the network. It's been fine since.

These 6xxxx PRLs are EVDO also ? Is that not more confusing with having two different EVDO PRLs ?

Um, I bet it's confusing for those know nothing Sprint reps also. It's hard enough getting half of them to flag a phone for a PRL update, and now there are multiple ones.

Deval
01-08-2007, 07:43 PM
yeah but you cant 'ask' for a specific PRL to be downloaded...the system does it...all the rep does is toggle a setting

With all this talk about needing a PRL update and with so much urgency you would think theres a huge group of SU's out there walking around cursing their phones out because they are always roaming. That must be the case since I know we wouldnt just want the update because someone else has it... right?

I NEED the PRL updates because I travel so much. And I'm sure even if other don't travel as often as I do they would still like to take advantage of new tower arrangements that may help improve their signal.

do you travel to the same place?

If you live in the NY/NJ area, the same prl works for voice usage...nothing has been touched ever here...every time there is a prl released, I get a map of the areas which are affected. So far, nothing new here
