Right now I have the Samsung A900 and still have a while till I can get a discount on a upgrade, so would it be worth the switch and pay full price for this phone. Also what are the pros and cons of people that own it. Also if anyone has had the A900 and now has the M1 How do they compare? At the time i have no real problems with the A900 but really like the M1
THanks for you help

#1 when did u get your a900? if under 30 days you can exchange it.
#2 i came from an a900 to an M1 its a huge upgrade! although a smaller screen the M1 has its worth it.
#3 you can play your itunes music on the external controls, the a900 u cant
#4 longer battery life the M1 has
#5 M1 has wide screen when viewing TV
#6 You can Minimize the Media player when listening to music on the M1
#7 M1 has Voice activated calling, which u DONT have to teach it.
#8 M1 has RL capability
#9 external speakers for Boom Box effect!
its worth the 350 they charge for it!

I got it last july, so the 30 day exchange is out of the question. How is the build of the phone does it have a nice strong feel to it or does it feel cheep?

no its solid! its a nice weight too!of course its heavier then the a900 but its nice! the external controls are on the small side but it works! oh and the phone comes with an adaptor so you can use your regular head phones instead of buying sprint headphones.

The external display of the m1 will show the name & photo id of the caller if they're in your phone book or if not then the caller id number or information...
The sms will show name & photo id if in your phone book or phone number or e-mail address of sender

Yes, it does, under the Tools>More Tools menu. You can set up to 5 countdowns with alarms.

what kind of picture editing options is there
Under Pictures>My Albums>(select the album)>(highlight the picture)>Options (right soft key)>Details/Edit...
1)Text Caption, to caption your picture
2)Special Effects
*Color Tone, manipulates the tint of the picture, including black & white
*Partial Zoom, provides a movable box which allows you to zoom selected picture area
*Rotate
3)Resize, to 1.3M - 960x1280; Medium - 480x640; Low - 240x320
4)Picture Info, gives data about the characteristics of the picture
5)Full Screen, expands the picture to fill up the main lcd.
There may be more; I've only had this phone for 3 days and haven't yet discovered all the hidden nuggets. The nice thing is that this phone comes with a USB cable which you can use to transfer media files back and forth between PC and phone, so you can edit on the PC and put back on the phone.

i have the fusic now and either going to the m1 or the sammy 610. does the m1 apply the same ringtone to a cal as the text from the same person? my fusic has a ringtone for person calling and a seperate one for all texts unless i create a seperate text folder.

im switching next month from my fusic. i miss my sanyo
i just got an 8400 and so far i'm loving it very much. even more than my almighty 9000. but i'm kinda having the itch to go to the m1. the thing about my 8400 that is keeping me away from the m1 is the expandable memory. i love expandable memory. 1 gig is nice, but it's shared with all the different apps that require memory right? (my content, pictures, videos, movies, etc.) expandable mem gets me 2 gigs...maybe 4 on the close horizon?
I figured that i could try it out for a little bit, at least play with it's features, without activating, then sell it on ebay or here if i keep my 8400...

The memory is shared with different apps and such... but thats only about 150MB, which leaves you with about 850MB of space to use for other things. And lets be honest do you legitimately need more than 850MB of space to save things on your phone... Maybe 3 years from now, more space than that will be needed, but honestly it is a phone... I dont see why you would need more than 850MB of space. (Thats just my opinion, and other people may disagree) </End of drunk rant>

In reply to those debating switching from the A900 to the M1... The M1 is a much better all around phone than the samsung A900. At first I was very impressed with the features of the A900 (coming from an Sanyo 8200, which was a very reliable phone, but not very feature packed). As I had it more I realized its downfalls. Slow UI, as well as limited memory. Comparing the A900 to the M1, I would never second guess keeping the M1. It's literally all you could ask for in a phone and then some... with maybe the exception of the slimness of that A900, but the M1 is alot slimmer than pictures make it seem. And I personally like feeling my phone in my pocket, because alot of the time I wasn't sure if my A900 was in my pocket or not and would leave home without bringing it. So my point is, if you are debating switching from the A900 to the M1, I would go for it.
