You don't need to know your MSL for BitPim, you can GET your MSL from looking in the file system, which BitPim allows you to do.

BitPim probably just doesn't work with the 8400 yet. The makers of the software need to get their hands on the phone first, before they can program the software.

Me too.

I need to get my contacts to my 8400 from my 8300. I got them off the 8300 but cannot get the 8400 to work with bitpim or data pilot.

You'll be waiting... unless you are willing to send the people at BitPim your phone. :) They'll be more than happy to get it because that's pretty much the only way they get phones for the program.

Search this forum, there are a number of posts, about how to upload your existing contacts to the 8400. I did mine through bluetooth via a dongle on my PC. You can also load it onto your memory card for the 8400, and push it over to the phone.

good luck

The instructions are here, www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1260831 (http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1260831). If you use the USB cable to connect the 8400, place the vcf v3 contacts file in the SD_PIM folder in the microSD.
