Even though my Buckeyes lost to North Carolina and got spanked by Floirda in the 2nd half (Oden not 100%) I think they will be pretty good this year. Oden is a freak and I'm sure he will set a new record for block shots this year. :) Go Buckeyes beat Indiana tonight. :) :headbang2

not really. back to back NIT winners don't even get ranked? its a popularity (cough cough midwest or state of north carolina ) contest

Eh... Not really. My alma mater isn't exactly considered a basketball powerhouse. March Madness is pretty neat though. I am looking forward to that.

This season is looking very good so far for Oklahoma State University (OSU). I believe they are ranked about 15th.

Sean Sutton is the head coach now that Eddie Sutton (ONE of the best win loss records ever) has retired.

heh...thinking we have to (once again) win 4 games in 4 days at the Big Ten tourney (which we have done twice, and made the final after winning 3 two other times...wacky) to get into the Dance. i'll be happy with .500 in the Big Ten this year.

My Buckeyes got the win against Indiana but there not playing that good. Hopefully they play better there next 2 games. Oden is a beast! He shoots better foul shots then Shaq with his non shooting hand.

Darn it my Buckeyes had a tough couple of days. lol The Buckeyes went over 5 mins without scoring in the 1st half but they were only down a few points. Also the Buckeyes were down by 16 in the 2nd half and battled back only to miss a last second open 3 pointer to send it to overtime. They need to get Oden more involved and as the season goes on I think they will.

yeah, they played well. just tough to win in that building for the road teams.

tomorrow we look to pul the Illini into an 0-3 hole. it's in C-U so it's one of those road games we have to steal. if we get everyone involved like we did against the Spartans i like our chances.

Wow Ohio State blew a 20 point lead but got the win against Michigan St. At times Ohio State looks like there a great team and at other times they look like crap. Oden had a great 1st half but for some reason didn't do anything it the 2nd half. They have some time to get it together before they play Wisconsin again. It's still early but it seems that Michigan might not make it to the dance once again. I think it's been 8 years since they made it?

such is life in the Big Ten! Badgers come to Carver tomorrow and we shall see if the Hawks can put 40 minutes together and hand them loss #1. they are not going to run the table and it's a road game, so we shall see what's up.

in other news, it's now: 216 days, 11 hours, 11 minutes until 2007 football starts (for Iowa.). alas...it's also 216 days and 11 minutes to my birthday. :(

they almost let another one get away...SedgeYep keyword is alsmot. :p Do you think the Buckeyes have a good team or do you think there over ranked? Your not a Ohio State hater or are you? ;) The Buckeyes went cold a few times but it's not easy playing at Michigan St. I couldn't beleave they were letting Neitzel get wide open 3 pointers late in the game just like when they played at Ohio State. I don't think Michigan St. ever had the lead in the game so I think that's impressive. Oden is a BEAST and he's getting better each game. Ohio States rest of there season is not as hard as Wisconsins, Indiana and Iowa. If Ohio State gets hot shooting 3-pointers it will be hard for anyone to beat them but you live and die shooting the 3-pointer. lol Looks like the Buckeyes will move up a spot to #3 since North Carolina lost. :)

Man I turned the Ohio State/ Penn St. game off at halftime and put in a movie. I should've known that Ohio State would blow another 20 point lead. I guess a win is a win. Florida was down by 18 against Alabama but they came back and got the win.

I figured Ohio State might have a let down since they already won the Big Ten. Looks like it will be 11 years since Michigan has got to play in the NCAA Tournament. lol Michigan has a pretty good team and played the Buckeyes tuff but choked down the stretch. I don't understand why Ohio State waits untill 6 minutes left in the game to go to the BIG man. Ohio States athletic program can't do much better right now.

GO BUCKEYES!

It's not easy beating the same team 3 times but Ohio State did it against Michigan. Michigan hung around again but they had 15 turnovers to Ohio States 5. Oden's wrist is finally almost 100% and you can tell he's improved a lot this year. I guess Michigan football fans on this site don't like basketball. I thougt it was funny in yesterdays game a Michigan player was coming into the game off the bench but still had his warm up pants on. Shows you how smart the kids are up North. Go Bucks!

Ohio State number 1 and Kansas number 2, those are the latest national ranking's I've seen. If everything plays out (it will lol), they will be number 1 seeds in the NCAA tourney. Anyone know who the other two will (probably) be? Texas A&M is out since they got beat.

One bit of bad news OSU was beaten today by Texas :irked: The finals will be tomorrow with Kansas taking on Texas. Look for Kansas to roll........ :Popcorn2:

I'm somewhat disappointed in the tournament making a conference champ of an "automatic bid" conference play in the "play in" game. Though I don't think Niagara would have much of a chance against Kansas (well, none) I still think the NCAA selection process is flawed.

If you don't feel a conference should have an automatic bid, then don't grant them the status. If you feel that they deserve it, have a couple "at large" schools play to "play in."

I think it makes a joke of the process. They could end up not playing in the real tournament (64 team field) and also have been not considered for the NIT on the basis that they were given an "automatic" spot in the NCAA tournament.

Some of the "sports experts" are already predicting ORU will win its first round game. For those that don't know this is a team that beat Kansas worse than anyone else could, in the entire regular season! :headbang2

Their coach is Scott Sutton, one of the coaching sons of Eddie Sutton (who has one of the best records in division one mens basketball).

I did say the Buckeyes could go all the way......but then again I am kind of biased.thanks. ;) Yea I'm biased to but a player like Oden only comes around every 20 years not to mention Mike Conley Jr. is a very talented player as well. After the Xavier comeback and beating Tennessee when they shot lights out behind the 3-point line, it just could be the Buckeyes year. I'm still waiting for the Buckeyes to get hot behind the 3-point line. Did you see last night on Sports Center that there calling the Buckeyes the fad five. lol. Should be FLA vs G'town with FLA winning it all.You said that Ohio State wouldn't make it to the Final Four in the other thread so you were wrong about that. :p Now your still picking against Ohio State, well you said "it should be Georgetown and FLA in the Championship". North Carolina went really cold in the 2nd half, only scoring 31 points and Georgetown shot the ball really good. Ohio State had a few games where they went cold but it's doesn't happen to often becasue they have a lot of players that can score. Georgetown has to have another great game shooting from the perimeter and they have to stay out of foul trouble. Ohio State has shown that they can win games when Oden is on the bench. If Ohio State wins the NCAA Championship I wonder if the doubters/haters give them any credit.

A battle between true big men Oden vs Hibbert tomorrow. :)
"Saturday's national semifinal matchup is the most anticipated, true low-post center showdown since Patrick Ewing versus Hakeem Olajuwon when Georgetown played Houston in the 1984 national championship game".
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/ncaatourney07/columns/story?columnist=katz_andy&id=2815442

If Ohio State wins another close game against Georgetown I hope the Florida vs UCLA game is close as well so no team has a slight advantage in the NCAA Championship game. One good thing is that if Ohio State does win tomorrow they won't have to wait over a month to play the NCAA Championship game.

Mike Conley Jr. the FRESHMAN for Ohio State had another great game and Ohio State proved once again they can play without Oden. Bring on Florida it's payback time.
