Ok.. got my 8400 yesterday (30 dec). Of course there isn't a USB driver, but the local guru over at the sprint store said he used a SD card reader to transfer mp3's etc, to the SD card, and then to the phone..
I went out and bought a sandisk mobilemate sd/read/writer, which said software came with it.. yeah, for pictures ONLY and that was from the card to the reader.
Anyone have any suggestions for software? For both the sd card reader/writer, and for making screen savers, or what not? Thanks.

If you are using Windows XP and want to do the following:
- transfer mp3 and aac music files to your SD card
- transfer compatible movie files (3gp and 3g2 movies in 176x144 resolution or 128x96 resolution) to your SD card
You don't need 3rd party software or hardware.
Use the included USB cable. Make sure the 8400 is flipped open or you will not see the options menu and Windows XP will give you an error message about an unknown device. Attach the cable to the 8400, and the other end to an available USB port on your computer.
The options menu will appear on your 8400, asking you if you want to use 1. PictBridge 2. Mass Storage 3. Modem. Choose option 2.
A new window will pop up in Windows XP called "Removable Drive X:" The actual drive letter can vary. It will ask you to choose an action. Scroll down to the end and choose "Open Folder to View Files".
A new window will appear in Windows XP. This window is the 8400's SD card. If this is your first time accessing the data card, you may not have any folders there. I believe you can create the Media folder without any problem. That is the folder to which you will drag and copy any music or video files you wish to enjoy on your 8400. You can also choose to drag entire folders of music or other multimedia files into the Media folder for better organization.
After the files are finished copying (if they are small it will be almost instantaneous), do NOT just unplug the USB cable! Look for a small greenish icon on the lower-right side of your Start taskbar. If you hover your mouse cursor over it, it should say "Safely Remove Hardware". Double-click on that, and follow the instructions.
Your phone will tell you to "Unplug the USB cable" after you do so. It's now safe to unplug the USB cable, and your phone will go back to the main menu.
You should then be able to view your video files and listen to music via the Media Player on your 8400.
Now, for screensavers/wallpaper, I'm not sure if you can use those from the SD card. Ringers (unless you use a trick here, search for Ringtones 8400 video on the forums) must be saved to the phone's internal memory for you to assign and use it. Sorry, I have Power Vision so I haven't tried to use any ways around downloading it via a web uploader like Rumkin or Focus :irked:
