I have been browsing this forum for 2 hours and my head is about to pop! I am trying to assign Songs I added to M1, as ringers for people in my contacts. I have moved my songs everywhere in phone... :irked:

you can't assign the songs in the file manager as ringtones, you'll have to upload your ringers, this has been talked about so many times
Yes, upload or convert them to 3g2 files then you can copy them over and assign as ringtones.

3g2 conversion is the answer. Hopefully future phones will be easier when it comes to formats.... :music:

I kinda have the same gripe about it too. I think you have to put the music in a different folder than the music one. If that doesn't work then there must be a hidden folder that you can't see in windows to upload those songs. I have been messing around with it and haven't come up with any solutions just speculations of what the problem could be.

The music folder is for playing music through the music store player. Put music in the media folder.

Video ringers are what you can use as animations. Either upload them or put them in the DCIM folder,if you are making your own. Not sure about sprints.

You must be doing something wrong. I have about 8 3g2 video files I have assigned as ringers. They have to be less than 500K in size and in the DCIM folder as W7exc said...

12 years and you don't know about uploaders? Somehow I doubt that length. Either way, it's very simple and all the other phones use the same process.

Wow folks. Why the hostility? I think the old adage of "If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all." would be good advice for some.
Anyway... you can upload ringers using "Focus (http://www.sprintusers.com/focus/)" which is found on this site. (Look at the top left corner of the page.) I'm not sure what magic happens when it gets uploaded but they can then be used as ringers.

So you've been with Sprint since they started offering wireless service? Wow, insane. Get any cool discounts for loyalty?

12 years of service doesn't mean he should know about the uploader feature as sprint doesn't advertise it, so cut him some slack.
