OK, this might be nuts, but about a week ago I was in a local radio shack and they had one of those mock sanyo 9000s on the kiosk. I asked the salesperson and she said they had one new one left. I grabbed it. So far I love the phone, but I was just wondering if anyone knows of where I can get at least one back up battery for this phone.

Any help would be really appreciated.

I bought an extended life battery and case from Sprint a year ago. The case was for a different model (possibly 8300?) but it very nearly matches.

http://store.sanyousa.com/ seems to no longer be selling the MM-9000 battery.
Bit I believe the short-lived Sanyo MVP "ESPN" phone" is identical, so I believe the "SCP20LBPL: Extended Battery for Sanyo MVP Phone" that Sanyo sells for $60 will work, it'll just clash with the silver.

http://www.sprintpcsaccessories.com doesn't mention either the MM-9000 or the MVP. You might still be able to order accessories from Sprint by calling 1-800-974-2221.

BargainCell on Amazon sells 900 mAh and extended (1400 mAh) batteries for $10/$16, these aren't the original batteries but are a lot less than I paid.

My partner lost the phone at the gym, so I too recently bought the last MM-9000 from a local Radio Shack.

I found the mm-5600 extended batt at frys for ,29.00 was 59.00..looks funny on my mm-9000 though..but it was worth it...cause It will be a long time before I give this phone up....nothing compares..now only if it charged from usb..then I could get rid of my ppc-6700.lol

You can use the 5600 accessories for the 9000. thats my backup battery, but you can always call #222 the Sprint accessory hotline and order the accessories.

OK, for a while I was thinking that I wasn't going to get any responses to this thread. Anyway, after reading your repliesw to my question I went over to the Fry's in Burbank and picked up a couple of extended batteries. They didn't have 9000 batteries but they did have the Sanyo 5600 extended batteries. They were marked 59 dollars but when I got up to the register, the batteries scanned at 30. I got two of them. Not the same color as the 9000, but perfect otherwise. I'm a happy camper.

Thanks everyone for your help. I love this phone!!!

It's a top-notch phone, though not for everyone. I had mine for about 10 months which turned out to be a record for this phone junkie :)

Somehow this phone junkie missed the 9K bandwagon. I think I ended up going with the Samsung a900 instead. Well, it's never too late on some things. I purchased a 9K from a SU'er and got it hooked up today. This phone is sweeeeeettttttttttt. I forsee using it more than my M1.
