View Full Version : Help Old Grangfathered Vision Plan!!!

Ok we have the old granfathered vision plan 85.00 2000AT 10.00N&W 2.50 NW@7 0.00AAP w/vision and about a year after we started the plan we added the 20.00 AAP w/vision.

I recently went to the sprint store (I know first mistake) and upgraded the phones and ever since they messed up our acct. Now the main line has no vision and the unlmtd txt was a part of the vision pk so no txt and they told me the 3rd line (20.00aap w/vision) had no txt to begin with not sure because it was not a txt enabled phone but I am pretty sure that when I signed up that phone it was still included in the unlimited vision...Are they yanking my chain???? They have me paying the 15.00 unltd txt for that phone and my main phone now shows overages as casual txt. Before the phone upgrades we were out of contract and I had to sign the 2 yr aggreement to do the upgrade..Would I be better off taking the phones back and getting back out of contract to get this fixed since no one at sprint seems to say the same thing and they can't seem to fix it??? They are also telling me that the grandfathered vision is not compatible with our phons even though I was careful to get just vision phones not power vision phones, is this true?

Sorry this is so long but Sprint has me so confused....
wondering if we are better off with what we have
85.00 + 10.00 +2.50 +20.00=117.50 -25%disc
or going with the sero??? Anyone have an opinion? 2 of the phones only txt maybe 30 times a month the other about 400??? And we only use about 600 total AT minutes?

Please help Sprint has me so confused!!! Thanks

Call *2, say "cancel service" and explain to the rep that you were not made aware of the loss of your vision pack and text messaging when you did the upgrade.

A reasonable offer from retentons will be $10 EVDO "save" offer with a $10 Credit. You pay an additional $5/month for picture mail and you have powervision and piicturemail for $5/month. 500 free text messages OR $8 unlimited text messaging.

Its not gonna be unlimited everything for free, but a $5-13 increase for services that cost a new customer $35 is pretty fair.

You may have to complain loudly to get a transfer to the actual retentions department as not all *2 calls with "cancel service" actually get you to retentions. you could say something like:

If I had known I was losing all this, I wouldnt have upgraded or renewed. I think this breach of contract and I think I'll cancel if a fair colution cant be worked out.

Good Luck!

Sprint wants everyone on the new plans. Even if they can fix your account, it is unlikely you will get your old vision pack back because the codes are removed from the system.

The $10 EVDO retention plan includes picturemail, no $5 extra charge.

yea.. grandfather codes are no longer in the system, not even through our supervisor system.. if it's gone, you can't get it back.

They did that when I upgraded to a M1 and I was pissed. She said she talked to the supervisor and said he would have it added back. She called me like 5 min later and said its all fixed.

Wirelessly posted (Treo 700P: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/Palm-D052; Blazer/4.5) 16;320x320)

I HATE how for us old timers, our plans included free vision or $5 unlim text, and then sometimes when you call in and ask for those prices again, they chuckle at asking for it...when they took those options away from us when we resigned contracts with Sprint in the first place.

I believe they can correct it, but only untill your billing cycle ends. After that, good luck!

I had my "free" vision removed by an incompetent rep and i'd guess they had to get a retention rep on the line to fix it. This was before vision/powervision and was part of the $100/2000 plan that included free vision picturemail with ul text messages on both lines. All's well that ends well :)

Seems to me they want to faze out all grandfathered powervision. I'm jumping ship, laterally, to a sero plan. Going to try to get them to add on unlimited text for free, or at least 500.

But I won't let them on my account. Thats part of my contract!!!

Getting set up with freebies on SERO plans, when you establish them isn't easy. Usually after a few months you have better chances. When I did my girlfriends plan, I attempted in the beginning to get unlim text for free, but had no luck with repeated attempts. After one billing cycle I tried again and got free 7pm and unlim retentions texting @$8.00 a month. If you can do it, good luck!

I figured I'd post in this thread because it is sort of related...

I currently have the $15 vision w/ u/l text + pictures (originally had it for $10 but a rep screwed it up and never got it back)

Well, I would like to upgrade my phone now from a vision phone to a power vision phone, but the increase in price is absurd... $40 for the vision w/ texting I have now to be power vision according to reps??

If I could do it I would take the $10 power vision w/ pictures + $8 texting... Is there any way to get this offer? I sent an email to ecare explaining my issue and wanting to keep the same price for data services... I am hoping they can help... but what would be the best route in getting the above?

Thanks

I think the easiest way to do that is call in and simply talk to retentions...explain that you've been with sprint for a while, and want to upgrade your phone to a power vision phone. Explain that you've been in talks with previous reps who had mentioned a $10 powervision plan (it includes picture mail) and an $8 unlimited texting option. At the time you weren't ready to upgrade but now you are. They should agree to that. If they don't try a few more times but that should be okay, you aren't asking for complete freebies and you've probably been pretty loyal paying your bills etc.

**USUALLY** the $8 texting is the easiest add on. Getting a $8 re-ocurring credit is much more difficult. If you get retention reps who aren't really familiar with the codes, they sometimes offer you the $20.00 a month powervision pack with a $10 re-occuring credit to make it $10. If they do that its the same thing as the $10.00 retention powervision pack.

I am having so much difficulty getting my second line with the $8 u/l text option, along with the recurring monthly $8 credit, making it free. Which is what I have on my first line, because when I originally upgraded to EVDO, I previously had the vision pack that included free u/l web and text messaging, on both lines. All they will give me on my second line is 500 free text messages.

I definitely feel this is a breach of contract, just b/c my phones were upgraded my plan didn't change. The 500 free on the second line used to be enough, until I upgraded the a900 to the Treo 700p.

As of this month, the $8.00 re-occurring credit code is out of the normal system they use. When I recently had this added, the rep had to go into an older computer system to retain the code and apply it to the line. Something i've seen them do recently is add the $8.00 U/L texting option to an account, and then apply a $5 re-occurring credit to bring it down to $3.00 a month.

That blows. I guess everyone better get their 8 dollar unlimited texting while they can.

They cycle through new codes though kind of frequently, hopefully they'll have some others that take its place...maybe something like...$0 retention unlimited text messages...grandfathered in?? Haha wishful thinking probably.:-(

ya i just added last week the $5 recurring credit for unlimited texting to bring it down to $3. that was the best the rep could do...he tried everything.

Nice!

Wish I could get my friend that. Don't want to be obnoxious though. His bill is 30 dollars per month with 48 percent in discounts.

He's good. :)

I get a $10 EVDO service credit becouse I used to get regular Vision for free. I have a couple questions......

1. I have the $25 Power Vision plan. If I change that to the $10 plan will they still give me the $10 credit?

2. If I add another phone to my account and I wanna add the $10 power vision will they give me another $10 EVDO credit, since I used to get free vision on all my lines?

Thanks

If you get a vision phone (like the katana), you won't need to give anything up.

1. Credits are coded to specific features. If you change the feature, the credit automatically comes off.

2. If they can "mirror" your plan to the new line, then yes.

You'll have to call account services to be sure though.
