My wife and I currently have the same phone, the Samsung VM-A680. We are on a plan together:
Sprint PCS Fair & Flexible Plan
* Adjustable Anytime Minutes
* $70 Minimum Monthly Charge
* Nationwide Long Distance Included
* Unlimited Night & Weekend Mins. Included
* Caller ID, Call Waiting
* Three-way Calling
* Voicemail
* $10 Unlimited Text Messaging
* $10 add-a-line
We are paying between $90 and $120 a month and have been Sprint customers for 8 years. I know that our rebate for $150 each is available to us, which leads me to think our contract is up too.
I am new to this site, but have been reading pretty much non-stop since I got here. There is a ton of info and trying to sort it all out and get the best plan is making my head spin.
We are looking into the Sanyo Katana phone deal, buy one for $50 and get one free. Can you point me in the right direction to get the best deal for our phones and service contract.
I read somewhere about getting 1000 AT minutes with 7pm nights and weekends for ~$50/mo. Free Sprint to Sprint and unlimited text messenging would also be a plus.
Any help you guys can give me would be much appreciated :confused:
Let me know if you need any other info to help me out.

The 1000AT minute plan is a retention plan offered to customers who are considering switching to another carrier.
Most customer service reps will transfer you there if you are considering switching.
From your phone *2 then say "cancel". ClarieBot should transfer you to retentions, but not always.
The best way to determine the right plan for you is to review your minute usage over the last few months.
1. Do you call mostly after 6 or after 7
2. Do you have mobile to mobile
3. Are you texing more or talking more
4. Does Sprint offer an employee discount for your business
5. Are you a member of a Credit Union
The discounts can really help reduce your bill. So will switching to earlier nights.

Sprint is unlikely to move you to the plan you want from fair and flex unless you specifically say:
I have a friend who was telling me the plan he got recently and I was wondering if I qualify for the same plan. He pays $50 per month for 1000 anytime minutes and $10 a month for his extra line. His plan has 7pm nights included as well as getting unlimited text messaging at $8 per line. Since its a shared plan, he said he also gets mobile to mobile included. I would like to switch to that plan and get a couple new phones and renew my agreement with sprint.
If they tell you that the plan isnt available to you, say something like:
I have been a sprint customer for about 8 years now, and everytime i speak to a sprint rep they thank me and tell me im a valued customer. Am I really a valued customer that I am not eligible for the plan I asked you about? I think a really valued customer would be eligible for this plan.
Now you have put the rep into a position of having to answer you on if your really valued. Continue with:
All I want is the same plan he is getting. He said he spoke to some special department as he was paying too much for his service and was going to leave sprint and go to another carrier. (have a carrier in mind to mention with a plan similar..... t-mobile generally) I'm not asking for the moon, just a decent plan at a fair price. I'm hoping to stay with sprint, and I will if you can give me a decent plan at a fair price. If not, i'll be considering moving to _____________.
By that point you will probably be offered the plan you want, or be transfered to retentions to get the deal. Im not sure if they will do the buy one get one free deal, but you can still save some major cash with that plan.

u might be able to get a better phone than the katana too. i called back in october for my mom. she was out of contract and wanted a new phone. the i580 was $250 at sprint. wirefly had it for $150. retention gave it to me for $75. i bet you can get 2 8400s for free if u called retentions. they also gave her a 15% loyalty discount. but she has 2 lines always pays on time and usually pays $5-10 more than she owes

forgot to mention, go to wirefly.com and letstalk.com. check out the prices on there. call *2 and say cancel to get retentions. say ur looking to get new phones and a better plan or ur looking to switch. say u like whatever phone. if they give u a price higher than 1 of those sites say the price on the cheaper of the 2 sites and u can get a better price there. usually they will match or beat them

I did everything Dan said and did pretty well they did offer me the $50 1000 but i didnt like the no roaming. so they did a 700family plan with 150 +150 reoccuring minutes then a 5% resign and a 20% to match t mobile then they gave me a free add a line since i was bambooozuled at the Sprint store and I was piping mad. think I'm going to ask if since i'm a Credit union member if that is a legit perk besides the matched price and the hissy fit discounts.
