I called retentions the other day to see what they could do for me. I am shopping around a little bit just to see what is out there. My main issue is that a lot of my friends have left the Sprint network and my 1000 anytime is going to skyrocket. My N/W start at 8 (unlimited), and I have pcs to pcs for $40 (old retention plan). I added unlimited text for $10.

Right away, the girl offers up a new 8400, and free text, and n/w to start at 6 for n/c so that my plan stays at $40 now. I ask her to call back so I can research the 8400 (I knew nothing about it). She doesn't call back and that was Sunday. So on Monday, I call retention and they said that 6p does not apply to the old plans and that I could get 6p if I paid $10 for it or they could give me 7p for N/C. And that for some reason, my account was now being charged twice for unlimited text instead of listing it free once.

My question is this: the phone came today, and I'm half tempted to send it back b/c I'm pissed that they told me they could do something and then discovered they couldn't--and didn't really offer anything to make up for it after I told them that 7p was unacceptable. Am I overreacting or do I have a pretty good deal? I'm only asking b/c the first girl asked what she could do and I said I would like more minutes to compensate OR N/W to start 2 hours earlier. I didn't end up with more minutes, or end up starting my N/W at 6p although 7p is an improvement.

TIA for letting me vent and any advice!

I would call account services back one more time...You sometimes run into one representative who believes that it can't be done, but sometimes if you call back you will reach someone right away who can take care of it.

Well, I'm currently on hold. They are transferring me to retention. My guess is that they will say that the code they need to input isn't compatible w/ my old retention plan. :fingers:

:D

It took a while to get transferred to retention but the guy was really cool and gave me the 6p. Thanks for encouraging me to give it another whirl!

When you get on the Sprint "merry go round" you never know where it will stop. In your case you did ok! :)

I was thinking the exact same thing. I'm glad I called again. I was getting more disgusted by the call, but the person I talked to was very nice and helpful. Sprint needs more guys like him.
