I finally got my own MP3s as a Sprint Motorola RAZR V3m ringtone! I really just stumbled upon it when attempting to do various other methods that had failed:
First, you need Bluetooth. I could not accomplish this with USB (no driver) or the microSD card (the folder for ringers is not on it, though you can copy your mp3s for listening purposes to it). I bought a cheap ($18) Belkin bluetooth adapter for my PC and set that up. Through Bluetooth, you can access the Sprint V3m phone for many cool uses, one of which is called OBEX File Transfer.
Once you have that set up, you'll see several folders. You can get your images off the phone this way, your movies, etc., but you can also add mp3s onto the phone. Go to the "audio" folder. Ignore the voicerecord subfolder, ignore anything you've ever read about .qcp files. Simply copy your mp3s to this audio folder, and you can now select them in your ringer list! (from the sounds menu, not from the 'my content' area) Of course it is a good idea to edit them first, what I did was convert from mp3 to .wav (using dpPowerAmp), got a wav editor, sliced the length down to 30 seconds, reconverted to a mono mp3. You can really use any number of music editors out there to accomplish this.
One other note, you will have to "allow" every action the PC takes to access and copy files to/from the phone, and you have only a few minutes before you have to re-select "Find Me" from the phone's Bluetooth setup. This is all for security purposes. Annoying, but it's well worth it.
So to recap: use Bluetooh, place any mp3 in your unit's "audio" folder, and then it becomes ringtone-selectable. On a Sprint RAZR V3m.
