LOL..
back in the day IE last year and before. you never had to turn your phone off. Ever..
nowadays its like windows it cant stay runing for without a reboot..
it wont hurt it.. why would it put extra strain on it..
i say power it off once a week with these new ones just to keep the software happy...
it will clear the Cache when you power cycle...

I keep my blade on all the time unless I use the internet to keep track of scores alot. Seems as if I have to reset it at least once an hour during extened usage. Other than that, I leav my phone on non-stop. If I notice a slow down, I cycle it. Usually don't have a problem though.

My A900 hasn't been turned off in over 6 months and I've never had a problem. The phone I had before this one, I turned it on after its first charge and finally turned it off two years later when I got my a900. Phones only last about 4-5 years. Might as well let it live.

I tuned my Sanyo 8200 off nightly. I turn my Treo off nightly and a Soft Reset once a week. Sanyo, Treo and Sprint all reccomend that you turn the phone off at least once every 24 hours.

Mine freezes and reboots on me like windows. Did MS write my phone's software?

I usually end up power cycling my a900 every 2 weeks. The java apps seem to have a tendency to hang after while.

Sometime earlier this year when I went to the Sprint Store, the employee told me that I should turn off my phone everyday. He said something to the effect that by doing so, my phone would receive updates to the system. To tell you the truth, I thought he was FOS. I had an A680 at the time. I now have the a900 and usually leave it on, but I have to cycle it occasionally when it gets buggy. As for it stressing the phone, I doubt it.

you should restart:
your phone every morning, afternoon, or night, whichever
everytime you enter a new area (i usually restart my phone if i go farther than 30 miles away). ever travel and get voicemails with no ringing?
during phone issues, obviously. this fixes must easy errors.
