On 11/13 I called CS to inquire about changing my plan. I asked about SERO. The rep didn't seem too knowledgable on this, and I wasn't satisfied with his answer about keeping unlimited text and picture mail(I had the "grandfathered" vision plan b4). I told him I would think it over and call back.
So yesterday I received my bill and, LO AND BEHOLD, he put me on the the SERO 500 plan WITHOUT my ok. Although I wanted SERO, I wanted to gather up a little more info on what to ask for before I make a decision. I was also looking for a phone. So I spent 3 hours with CS and Retentions trying to cater a plan to fit my 'needs'. After talking to 2 CS reps I called Retentions and this is what I came away with:
Sprint Fair & Flexible Plan
* Adjustable Anytime Minutes
* $30.00 Minimum Monthly Charge
* America - Roaming Included
* Nationwide Long Distance Included
* Unlimited Night & Weekend Mins. Included
* Nights: M-Th 9PM-7AM Wknd: F 9PM-7AM
* Unlimited Vision Access
* Unlimited Mobile To Mobile
* Caller ID, Call Waiting
* Three-way Calling
* Voicemail
The rep also added 500 text/month, a 10% discount, and he said the "system" shows that my nights should start at 7pm. I also ordered the Sanyo 8400(through him with my credit card info). He said when the phone comes it will be usable, but the 'power vision part'(my words) will take effect on my next billing cycle 12/24. I will be ordering the power vision ultimate pack or the power vision plus pack then.
When I hung up I felt relieved. Only because I've been wrangling for about 6 months about getting a new phone and plan. But now that I think about it, I could've done better. My friend has been with Sprint only since 2003 and he got 10%, also. I've been with Sprint since '97, and I think the least they can do (notice I didn't say SHOULD) is give me 15 or 20% and/or a discount on a phone. Sure, I like the 8400, but I want to get a smart phone.
Ok, now that I've written a book for this post, can anybody offer any suggestions on what steps to take? The things I would like to get are: a higher loyalty discount , and a discount on the Treo. The Sanyo 8400 should reach me in 5-7 business days.
