View Full Version : How to return a K1m for a M1?

I purchased a K1m on November 9th from a corporate store as an upgrade from a VM4500. I had been off-contract a while so I committed to a 2-year contract for the $150 instant rebate. I haven’t been happy with the K1m. (The K1m is buggy, doesn’t have a message indicator, the belt clip is awful, etc. Basically, the K1m just isn’t working for me.) I’ve been to the corporate store a few times to ask about the 8400, but the reps can’t really tell me much about the 8400. The reps eyes just glaze over when I asked about things like how LED message indicator works, outlook contact syncing, if the external display constantly displays the time, etc. Basically, they haven’t been able to tell me if the 8400 will work for me. Since I can only exchange a phone once, I’d rather take my chances with the M1 than the 8400.

Can I return the K1m to the corp store and then order the M1 online? Will I receive the $150 renewal discount on the M1 or do I just loose it? Do I need to have the corp store reactivate my barely working VM4500 (because I need a phone until the new one arrives)? Is there a better way to go about this?

Can/should I roll this whole thing back (return to my off-contract plan using my 4500) and wait until sprint comes out a phone that I know will work for me (or at least I can verify the M1 will work the way I need it to)?

I pay my bill early and have never called Sprint with a problem. I just want a phone that works for me. Is sprint going to work with me on this?

Thanks

Just return the KRZR the store you upgraded at within 30 days, and have them reactivate your old VM4500. You'll go back to a month-to-month status without a contract and you'll still be able to use your $150 rebate on a new phone at any time. You might have trouble ordering over the phone or online. Most *2 and eCare reps will refer you to a Sprint Store to use your $150 rebate.

Good luck!
