View Full Version : Current Business Discount List?

I'm preparing to renegotiate my current plan and I want to make sure that I get the appropriate discounts applied but I can't seem to find a current list of the business discounts that are available. Yes I've tried our forum search features, but I keep finding a list from 3/14/04 so maybe I'm not using the right keywords. Can someone point me to the right list?

And by the way what the heck is the list called? I keep seeing "business discount list", "national volume pricing", and "national volume discount" being thrown around like they are all the same thing!

For those inquiring about business discounts, you can go to a sprint store or call *2 and they should tell you what the amount is. I know that when I called to verify mine they told me a different % than my company showed. Granted it was 1% but still.

I called and they said Kroger was listed several times and that I needed some numbers to give them. Cause were in Kentucky and there was one in Florida that was 23%.. I'll find out I still don't know if my dad is going to switch or not..

im pretty sure all credit unions in the USA can recieve 10% discount. i just added a credit union discount last week and it only about 3 minutes on the phone to do.

This is from the Sprint website: Call (Sprint) 866-853-4931 and select option 1 to request your discount. You will need to provide customer service with the corporate ID: 0130554459.

(they didnt ask for this number from me when i called)

it couldn't hurt to try.

I signed up for the discount as a state employee. Since then I've had trouble getting some services because "It is a corporate account." Is this because of something else I did? Has anyone else run into corporate account problems because of national volume discount?

That's funny. I've had a NVP discount for some time and never had service problems. In fact, I've been able to get new phones and even 500 free texts recently without problems.
What kind of problems are you getting?

Please only give general assistance about the process of adding a sprint business discount.

If you have a work email address, you can access the discount you are eligible for by clicking here and inputting your work email:

In the grand scheme of things the problems have not been too severe, never technical issues. Mostly it seems that some customer service people say “you have a business account – I can’t help you.” A couple of weeks ago it took a lot longer to get a new line of service at a R’Shack store.

Yesterday I discovered two things having to do with NVD: 1) It is a “business account” whatever that means. 2) One of the toll free numbers works better for getting business service; especially complex problems. (888) 211-4727

Thanks for info on the business account number, I wonder if they could be useful in changes to plans are well- ie Sero (I guess that's a topic for another thread... )

When adding a line at a store like radio shack, they can not do it with their computer system if you have a NVP discount. They basically have to call *2 and speak to a rep to get the line activated.

I ran into this issue previously, and ended up calling *2 myself and handing my sprint phone to the rep to complete the transaction.

yes because nvp discounts are put in another system. that's why most 3rd party retailers cannot help you upgrade/add a line which is both good and bad for the corporate stores.

good: we get more revenue/new activations
bad: price matching sucks because of the whole mail in rebate process since most 3rd party retailers will discount the phone to the mail in rebate price.

and why do people wnat to know the highest discount? so they can "lie" to customer care and get the highest discount possbile? ther'es not much difference between 25% and 27%, which is the highest nvp discount

Huh?
Not everyone is a liar or a cheat.
Thanks for the info on the highest NVP discount since I was just curious but it doesn't do anyone any good if the company that gets the discount isn't listed- which you shouldn't do since the liars would be clammering to Sprint to cheat them anyway right?

We should try to play nice.

Right, stores like radio shack have access only to "regular" accounts, not ones with a business discount on it. All that means though is that they call and do the contract on paper as opposed to doing it electronically. Some 3rd party sellers that are "sprint exclusive" actually encourage you to add your discount.

The discount listing was removed at sprints request. I think that they had a rush of people applying for "XYZ Corp" and its __% discount that were not entitled to it.

Now, if you want to know what your employer (or employers) offer as a discount, you can email sprint and inquire. Sprint will email you back and tell you what proof they want, and now to give it to them. You send back the info that was requested and sprint add's the discount, after verification. It usually takes about 2 months for the discount to be applied.

I've got 27%. I'm pretty sure there are others with this one as well. Not sure if it is the same company though it's large enough that it might be.

I also thought that there was a spot on the sprint site that you could check what your discount is. Granted, it might just be easier to call but I think if you put your email in it came back with the discount. I could be wrong.

Really? That's the one I'm on, Citigroup anyway. But I'm actually with Citibank. Wonder if that makes a difference?

Smith Barney owns Citigroup, the SB employee's get a larger discount for some odd reason. Ohh that's right, we manage Sprint's finances.

Closed.

Posting of business discounts is no longer allowed after sprint sent legal demand for the business discount lists to be removed.

Thank sprint for it :(
