I own the Treo650. the phone is great...everything about it is great except for one major flaw that the firmware developers don't seem to want to fix. 3-WAY CALLING.

For most people this is probably no big deal, but my business depends on me connecting people & making introductions via 3-way calls. Here are the issues:

1) After making the 3-way call and everyone is conferenced in, there is NO way to disconnect one person...it's all or none

2) If a call comes in while you're on the phone and you don't pick up the interrupted call and THEN you attempt to make a 3-way call, the Treo650 will not allow it. The only way is to end the current call.

3) If on a conference call and one person hangs up, if you try to call them back to reconference them, the TREO650 will not allow it unless you hang up on the original call first.

So my first question. Does the PPC6700 have the same problems in making 3-way (conference) calls?

If not, what do I lose by going to the PPC6700? My main concern is that it's windows based & I don't want my phone to get a virus. I've read some of the people's comments in these newsgroups...it appears you either love this phone or hate it.

I am concerned about the battery life and that it's a two-hand phone, but I am willing to accept this if I can make 3-way calls without complications.

This will be a business phone, so altho I enjoy cool things like listening to MP3s, what's key for me is the date book, contact book, todo list, making & receiving calls.

thanx

Search. You're wrong about not being able to hang up on one person.

I've searched, called tech support, threatened to sue ... it don't work.

Someone said hit the red hangup button once, but it doesn't work...it
hangs up on both.

I think the real answer for me is to not use a combo phone. i hate to do
this but I think what I am *really* going to do is buy a separate phone, camera,
and PDA. For me the combo devices just aren't ready.

that or do what i did for a while and get a Palm T|X and a bluetooth enabled phone

but i ended up deciding it was too cumbersome after a time (and the txs screen getting shattered twice, EXTENDED WARRANTY ROCKS!)
