ok to make a long story short, my friend is going to be leaving for canada permenantely. Now he has 1 year remaining on his contract, is there ANYWAY he can get it terminated for no charge? i terminated my brothers line on our account which has 4 lines without any charge but that was one line on the whole qaccount. his is just one line, so i think its gonna be harder, any suggestions would be appreciated

Put in on a vacation plan and pay it until the contract fulfills.

You can try to have someone else take over his contract maybe

those are both good suggestions -- and the ETF policy has changed due to abuse, what was your reason?

Yeah, I don't get this... you get charged an ETF because Sprint gave you $$$ for the purchase of a phone. Phones, in fact, are not free to design and manufacture.
So to help, I would suggest selling the phone on eBay or perhaps here.
And also, isn't there an exemption to the ETF if you move out of coverage??? I would inquire about this with CS.

I thought the vacation plan does not count toward the months on your contract, since you are only then paying $5.00 a month. Might want to check on that before you try to get it switched to a vacation plan

My point was pay the ETF like he should (if not possible to cancel without, since moving out of coverage) and then use the $ to help with the cost.
WPR just had a story recently about a website where people trade their their cell plans (and maybe just sell)... I'll look for the link, but maybe you can find it as well.
Here's one.. not sure if it is the one I had heard about, or if you can just sell.... but...

Edit: Wow that WPR site search is bad!!! I won't find it there. Good luck to you.
