Well Just To Let You Know, From Past Mistakes, The Music That You Purchase On Itunes Is Basically Junk If You Dont Have An Ipod. Itunes Locks Their Music Files In Mp4 Format. This Is Complete Bull**** In My Opinion Because They Over Charge You Enough With Their Music. Anyways... It Is Very Hard To Find A Converter To Convert Your Locked Mp4 I**** Music Unless You Want To Cough Up A Couple Hundred Bucks For Software. I Would Just Recamend Using Limewire ;)

or you can do what apple suggests you do which is burn the mp4 to a cd and rip it to mp3

Hmm, I can do that. Once I get the song in mp3 format though how do I put it on my phone?

well its pretty easy once you get the hang of it
1st you need to download the music store backup application for your PC here:
http://backup.coremobility.com/sprintmusicstorebackup/install.html
2nd, if that did not automatically install the driver for your phone, you will need to install the PCS connection manager here:
http://www4.sprint.com/pcsbusiness/support/downloads/index.jsp
3rd, once you get the driver installed and oped up the music store back up, that program should regognize your phone. if it doesnt then you didnt install your driver correclty. once it works, you simply click "add to phone" and select the song you want to add. the bad thing is is you have to do this for every song you want to put on.
if you are putting it on your memory card, there may be a much faster drag-and-drop but i am not sure how to do that.

I use Yahoo Music Jukebox to convert my CDs to MP3. I find it fairly easy. You can just download the Music Jukebox. Once downloaded go to the top of the screen to edit>scroll down and click on preferences>scroll down to cd and click that>then just put in your settings. There is a drop down listing for MP3 and other settings. Once you have all your settings in place and hit apply, the settings will stay that way unless you change it. I can just plug my phone to my computer and then put in a cd while on Yahoo Music Jukebox and it will automatically start putting the music on my phone. If you don't want the whole cd on you phone you can stop it and just take the check mark out of the box of the songs you don't want. It should go in your media folder on you phone.

If you already have your music file in mp3 format it's quite easy to move your file onto your phone for listening in your media player.
Connect the USB cable that came with your phone. Connect it to your PC. Go into your phone and select tools> usb connection> mass storage.
[Disregard/close out any windows warnings that you need to go get drivers. You don't need drivers. Once you go to phone and select mass storage all will be fine]
Now go back to your computer and open up a couple of windows ("windows explorer" windows...right click on start and select explore) . One for where your phone is listed ( it may say something like J: usb drive, or something like that) and another one for where your music files are. Now you can either click and drag or copy and paste into the drive where your phone is plugged in.
put the files in the media folder.
{if for some reason you have no folders...then unplug the phone from pc, go to tools> microsd> microsd settings and select Create Folders. then start over with these instructions.}
You're done.
easy breezy.

You don't have to convert from mp4 to mp3.go in to your my music folder>itunes folder> itunes music folder> then copy aac. music files to the media or music folder on to your micro sd card via card reader or usb cable . then play music through media player or music player.

Two things:
First, the site to download the music store backup program specificaly states that it's for use with the MM7500 only. This will work with the 8400 without any problems or chance of data corruption?
Second, when moving an .mp3 file to the phone using this backup tool, it's stored in such a way that it can be used as a ringtone? Similar to using any of the many web-based upload tools?
