So I bought the razr the other day and im thinking about taking it back and getting the 8400 but I have a few questions about the phone.

1. I heard the keypad is very dim/barely visable at night, can anyone take a pic of this in a dark room? ( I know theres a pic of it in the sticky, but are there any other pics out there?)

2. Does it do that annoying click sound when you open it like the katana does?

3. I see phonescoop has the dimensions listed as just slightly thicker than the 8300, the question being, how does it feel in pocket/in hand compared to the 8300 (or 8200/8100 since I used to all and know how they feel)

#1 is not that bad its not a bright as my samsungs but its readable in the dark w/o strugling to see what your looking at.

#2 of course it has the click all sanyos do.

#3 it feels nice in the hand/ pocket i had the 8300 for a day and its a lil smaller then the 8300 but not so much that it feels bad. i just started using the 8400 today w/o the face mask. it feels even better w/o it.

The white 8400 has led's that are a lot brighter then the blue and the black 8400 because the keys are clear. The 8400 was the perfect size flip phone for me but I just switched to a pda/phone. 8400 wasn't to big and it wasn't to small. The phone is really light.

2. Does it do that annoying click sound when you open it like the katana does?Wow, I've never heard anybody refer to the click as annoying. I've always preferred Sanyo handsets, one of the reasons being the click.

Previous phones I've used (heloooo LG, Samsung) with hignes that don't click and lock into place always seem to end up creaking or flexing.

The last LG I used was the blue 5250 (remember that one, I think it was one of the first phones that supported MIDI ringtones and downloading from 'Ringers and More'), and the last Samsung I tried even before that was the a500, so perhaps the hinges are a bit better on non-Sanyo handsets these days.

hehe, my last LG was teh 5250 too Dave. good times LOL.

I got a fusic for my girl back in the summer, decent phone, but hers is starting to miss calls straight to voicemail and has a charging issue. The hinge is ok but nothing like a sanyo. I also own an A640 and that in my opinion is the best hinge samsung ever put on a phone.
