hi

I really want to get the pocket pc 6700 phone. but i am not anywhere near sprints stupid 150$ mark. And i think i am still a couple months away from teh 75$ off mark.

so is there anyway around this? besides buying it from someone who already has it for like 300-400$?

Please let me know!

Thanks

Eligible to add on another line? That's always a good option, and one that I'd be happy to assist you with, LOL.

eBay is probably your only answer.... The 6700 sells for $300 for new customers only, so I doubt Sprint would offer it to you for less than that.

I'd be happy to go that route with you. Can you wiggle around my retention plan that makes extra lines $20? :)

Nope, you only get one big discount on a phone every 2 years. Sprint loses money on the phones they discount to you and it generally takes about 18-22 months to recoup it from a single line plan. Unless you plan on adding a line to your current account, there isn't anyway to get a discount. If you want to pay less for the phone, then you'll have to try Ebay or craigslist. If that isn't your style, then you can always come in to a RadioShack or Sprint store and buy the phone brand new.

Well, I shouldn't make it sound impossible for anyone to get a discount before their rebate comes up. If you are one the select very profitable customers for Sprint, profitable meaning you are paying more than $100 for a single line plan, plus you pay for data, pics and text messaging packages and pay your bill on time every month, then Sprint might be willing to give you a discount on a new phone, but the only way you'll get it is by calling retention. Good luck! I certainly ain't one of these people! :p

i agree buy one off ebay theyre liek 3-400 and sell your a900 for 150-200 then your only talking 150-200 out of pocket which isnt bad for a 6700

About an hour on the phone with retention, about to cancel 2 lines of service. They gave me $150 off any new phone. Keep in mind that I was using a really old phone at the time, so an upgrade was still in my favor. If you have an old ****ty phone, tell them you can't get any service in your house and that you really wish you could have a newer phone.

That's untrue. Sprint still makes money off of the phones they discount, even at the $150 mark, provided the discounts don't make the phone free altogether! I think alot of people would be apalled at the markup on cell phones.

Closely guarded secret like who all was on the grassy knoll and what the real cost of a car is (because its not invoice!)

Many businesses do a "hold back" which makes a product invoice out at almost retail, but once they sell a certain number, the manufacturer gives the "hold back" money back to the seller.

I believe GSM phones are much cheaper to produce than CDMA based on the fact that GSM phones can be used practically worldwide and therefore can be sold to alot more customers. Bigger production run means less cost per unit!
