As the thread title says I'm looking for a new phone. I know the descision is ultimately mine but I would like some feedback. I'm going to make this as painless and short as possible and give as much info as I can. I currently own the Sanyo 8200 and have had it for almost 3yrs now and the phone is starting to crap out on me.
Some basic info on my plan I've been with sprint since early 97, with only a 1 year break in that time where I had no cell phone.
I use the hell out of my grandfathered vision plan with my unlimited texts especially and vision, vision, vision.
I'm really looking into getting a PDA phone to mainly organize things better now that I'm working two jobs and needing schedule and e-mail access without always having my laptop around.
The phones I'm looking at are the Treo 700wx/700p, Treo 650, or the A900
The A900 if I decide to not spend so much and just get a new phone in general.
I have been to my local radio shack and sprint store to play with these phones and really like the 700's nobody has the 650 to play with but RS has some in stock still just no demos.
I find the learning curve on the Palm OS is easier for me but that is only due to the fact that I used to own an old Palm Pilot years ago. I would love to learn to use WM but just haven't had the time to really play around with it much. I'm pretty quick learning new OS's and such so I don't see it being a huge problem.
Price is one factor. I don't HAVE to have the newest phone wich is why I was thinking about the 650 but I might also be able to get a better deal maybe through retentions on the 700 since I've been out of contract for almost a year. Just with rebate and upgrade discount it would be $399
Another issue I was thinking about are features over all, bugs, stability. I mainly use my phone (Vision) for chedcking scores, looking up random info and then my text messaging. I'm sure I would also use many of the new features that come with a PDA phone I just haven't before.
This would be a phone I plan on having for as long as it lasts me, not just untill the next new thing comes out.
Any help on this descision would be greatly appreciated and I hope this isn't too long and boring. Any more info I can give just reply and I'll do my best to fill in any gaps.
